Honestly, I can’t say which of Soma’s intros I like more. The first have me for Billiards’s balls in the intro and the second for foreshadowing Soma’s move “Nothing personal, I just teleporting”. Amazing work.

What I like the most about Soma’s first fight is his expression. When he’s about to stab Yagami he was smiling like a creep, but when Yagami dodged that, his expression changed.

Kuwana's Dynamic Intro reminds me of Nishiki's from Kiwami. It's a simple Dynamic Intro, but it's backed by an entire game's worth of build up. With the emotions of the two characters exploding onto the screen.

i actually like the reason for soma's first fight being here, never thought about the bar being liminal space makes soma's fight and theme much more eerie as it sounds very mysterious and builds up to something threatening

My favorite is Soma because of some reasons. His theme, fighting style, and the places he fights just tells you how cold-blooded he is, with his theme having some sort of a wintery feel to it and the places he fights like you said the first one feels like a liminal space, which is probably cold and then the 2nd one straight up takes place in a freezer, and his theme titled Viper is just the icing on the cake. RGG nailed the overall themes of characters here, really nailed them.

Tesso's is definitely number 1 for me. The rain, the lighting, the BIG ASS METAL CLAWS. It all got me so hyped and the boss fight was one of my favorites in the series visually.

I totally get your appreciation for Akutsu, like yes, I love discourse over the complex thematic undertones and conflicts between protagonist and chief antagonists like Kuwana and Shono, but goddamn do I not love a good, villainous obstacle who wears their role like a fucking badge and is unapologetically villianous and cool. Akutsu embodies that role to a T- one that is rarely ever appreciated in media- and he earns my respect for always being so cool, funny, yet still scary.

I personally like Soma first intro more because you don't know how threatening this guy is up until the reveal and the bar being name Siren is also a nice hint since is reference to the sailor being lured by the mermaid (siren) voice. Also now that I think about it, we can also listed Kuroiwa battle arena (the abandoned bar and ADHD center) as a liminal space too, I think. . . . My personal top 5 dynamic intro: 5 - Vs Rowdy Student (1st Time) 4 - Vs Kazuki Soma (2nd Encounter) 3 - Vs Jin Kuwana (3rd Encounter) 2 - Vs Kazuki Soma (1st Encounter) 1 - Vs Daimu Akutsu (4th Encounter)

It’s top 3 for me. 1 Kuwana last fight, I appreciate the fact decided to fight Yagami and not blow the shit up, loved the intro and the OST. 2 Akutsu, we all know why lol, Leon covered everything in the video. 3 Soma second fight, love the choreography and his “behind you” bit. I have to say, they all pale in comparison with Kuroiwa’s intros.

I was hoping you'd revisit the topic of the dynamic intros in these games, especially since they have just gotten so much better after each entry. Seeing this pop up in my feed was a treat. Soma's second dynamic intro is probably my favorite one in the game.

On the next Judgment game, Yagami’s EX style would be blue, Kaito’s EX style would be orange, Higashi’s EX style would be purple, and Sugiura’s EX style would be white. Because the color styles on those characters would be awesome.

The final fight of the Kaito Files should be called the Epilogue Boss

I like the one when Yagami fought Liu Mang gang in front of Cafe Plage. Probably due Jackie Chan's movies I grew up with.

2:16 I love how this tracks, since Soma's theme DOES use a sped-up version of the very famous/often used Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker for those "creepy" vibes.

I feel as if Lost Judgment's dynamic intros showcase teamwork way more than the dynamic intros in the mainline Yakuza games, granted Kiryu himself is a one man army as is. It's awesome seeing Yagami and his friends decimate a bunch of RK members.

Tesso, man the dark atmosphere in this familiar (that had a lighter tone) place really sold it for me

#5 Tesso. Yeah, the intro itself is awesome and gives you some insight, but because he only has one boss fight in the beginning, I have to dock some points #4: RK Members. You said it yourself, it highlights the teamwork at the abandoned warehouse where Mikoshiba's corpse was unearthed, and you're saving 2 high school students, because of Akane getting in over her head and showing genuine remorse after the altercation. #3 Chainsaw Akutsu: An abandoned wharf, and you're fighting Akutsu and his RK minions, and you don't have your phone with you, which helps with the tension factor and the fight itself knows how to keep you on your toes. #2 Siren Soma: You and Kaito go to an abandoned bar, and Soma shows up outta nowhere and stabs Kaito in the hip and shoulder and the symbolism of the Sirens luring unfortunate sailors to their watery grave by singing was a nice touch, considering the bar is called Siren. #1 Final Kuwana: Cliche, I know, but that dynamic intro is so awesome that I had to put it in the top spot. What makes Kuwana one of the best characters RGG studio created is that he's Yagami's mirror, and Unwavering Belief helps cement Kaito's quote that there is no concrete answer. Just two guilt ridden men driven by their beliefs in a final confrontation.

Man, this game was robbed. They went all out of on the choreography in this game, love that they embrace the whole kenpo thing with Yagami and even to some extent the people he fights. If the game was developed in a non-covid world, I bet a lot of fights would have gotten some much deserved love (Kuwana's 1st and 2nd fights, 1st and Chainsaw akutsu, and some of the Kaito Files fights). Really looking forward to Yakuza 8 and any other mainline game plans-- I think they're gonna knock it out of the park after seeing Kaito Files.

Akutsu's intro is definitely my favorite in the game and one of my favorites in the series The pure energy it has mixed with his theme is just perfect and to see the boys working together before Akutsu jumps in is also cool plus tanking Yagami's kick like it's nothing There's nothing better than the best character getting the best intro

Definitely agree with the number 1 pick. It's all just so cool and badass from both sides of the fight plus it helps that K.O.G. is easily my favorite theme in the game and one of the highest in all of rgg games.
