Get the Highest Quality Electrolyte euvexia.com . Vitamin C is an essential nutrient necessary for optimal health and immunity as a vitamin and supplement. A severe deficiency is call scurvy, which is fatal unless vitamin C is added back in the diet. It is needed for connective tissue formation, so Vitamin C benefits include, healthy bones, skin and blood vessels. Foods rich in vitamin C provide not simply ascorbic acid, but all the other components of the vitamin C complex.
Even though ascorbic acid is the same as vitamin C by definition, it does not provide all the benefits. Vitamin C from whole food provide so much more than antioxidants, which are not the universal health booster they are often claimed to be.

I’m always skeptical of “studies”. You need to know who paid for them. A study funded by Pharmaceutical companies, or organizations associated with Pharma, may not be the best for judging vitamin efficacy. Just saying.

@@Romanlove11 vitamin K2 is essential if you want to keep the calcium in your bones, and not lining your coronary arteries!
@jjtopp99
@jjtopp99 2 жыл бұрын
@@Romanlove11 You are confusing Vitamin K2 with Vitamin K1. Vitamin K1 IS the "clotting vitamin". Whoever told you to stop taking K2 is spouting absolute nonsense. Likely an ignorant family practice medical doctor or cardiologist. Even very large amounts of K2 from food or supplements do not markedly affect blood clotting. Vitamin K1 is plentiful in a diet rich in foods such as spinach and other vegetables so there are very few Western world inhabitants that develop a K1 deficiency. However, due to dietary changes over the last 100 years most Westerners have an acute deficiency in Vitamin K2. Unfortunately, vegetables only contain little, if any, Vitamin K2. Foods rich in K2 include organ meats from grass-fed animals, Brie and Gouda cheeses, Natto (made from fermented soybeans), and Grass-fed Butter. Eggs as well. You can do an internet search for lists of foods rich in Vitamin K2. Adequate K2 is absolutely ESSENTIAL to your cardiovascular health as it keeps calcium in your bones and out of your arteries (as Veni VidiVici stated immediately above). Having said all that, it is difficult for the typical Westerner to get enough K2 via diet alone. I personally have been supplementing daily with K2 (in gel cap form, avoid the less effective dry capsule forms) for almost 10 years now. I am 70 years old and in excellent cardiovascular health.

Not true. Your body uses and depletes vitamin C during infections. This is why blood levels of vitamin C are astronomically lower while sick, and most likely the reason why every mammal on the planet, who produces vitamin C inside of its body, produces up to 100 times the normal amount of vitamin C, during sickness.

How about the view / position of Dr. Linus Pauling regarding Vitamin C? He did quite the review of studies and came to the conclusion that taking Vitamin C likely prevented cancer, also reduced days of recovery in a hospital, supports healthy cells, etc. He did win a Nobel Prize. He also attributed one of the major problems with health today is the large consumption of SUGAR.

mega dose has its uses. but naturalists do not want to admit that megadose actually work so well. The facts are out there. Natural food is kinda useless when a person is in a coma or in a critical condition. The effect of vitamin C in large amount is amazing for critical conditions. Their position is that natural food feeds and heals and we should try to get nutrients from natural food.

This video started well but went downhill fast at point #4. "Megadoses" are used for treating specific conditions, not for daily consumption. 2000mg isn't a megadose. 80,000mg is a megadose. Although that does raise the question, which wasn't addressed in this video, of how much is enough. The RDAs are absurdly low for things like vitamin C and especially vitamin D. And yes, I am cynical enough to ask why? These don't have side effects and are dirt cheap. Our foods today are grown in depleted soils that are severely lacking in nutrients. If they're even grown in soils at all. What's the point of eating a tasteless hydroponic tomato? I haven't had a decent tomato in at least 20 years. Maybe someone reading this will say they have, and maybe that's true. Or, maybe they aren't old enough to even know what a good tomato tasted like. The point is vitamin C is critical and most people are seriously deficient, like they're seriously deficient in almost every vitamin and mineral from eating processed foods. Discouraging people from taking vitamin C is doing them a HUGE, irresponsible disservice. Finally, deliberately conflating vitamin E and vitamin C mortality is actually disgusting. I have unsubscribed. No one needs this sort of garbage advice.

What he is saying is 2,000mg of ascorbic acid on its own is a mega dose, which is true. If people are wanting to take vitamin C, they should be looking at getting it from their diet so that it includes everything in the complex, not just ascorbic acid. Alternatively, there are natural vitamin C supplements which are based on food and not a synthetic isolated version of ascorbic acid which are better to take.

This is a fantastic video. Purely by coincidence and great timing after watching this video, I left for work and when I arrived I found one of the Managers was looking at and taking about Vitamin C tablets and it gave me great pleasure to correct him thinking ascorbic acid was vitamin C. Anyway would there be a similar type of video explanation and description for Vitamin D?

Again, excellent video to expand my knowledge. What might be a beneficial therapeutic dose range from whole food sources of vitamin C?
@SET12DSP
@SET12DSP Жыл бұрын
Therapeutic dose of Vitamin C for me is 10-15 grams in divided doses/day. You can't get this much from whole foods. You'd have to eat 10-20 oranges/day for just a gram.

Maybe you could do a lecture about loss of specific nutrients at high temperature. I often hear that some vitamins are decomposed, but other cooked products still have them.

So, do not make absolut and final conclusion yet...I take both, natural complex and ascorbic a. And yes it works by Covid patient along with vit.D and zink. I must say that I totaly appreciate dr. Ekberg contribution on this subject. At the other hand if it was really bad Trump would not get it ;-)

Dr Ekberg, I am a HUGE fan of your work and look forward to your twice weekly videos. You’ve been such a great help and I avidly follow as much of your advice as possible. But to be honest there’s too much to follow. It’s not possible to do, take, avoid, everything that you recommend across your hundreds of videos. Would you consider doing a video of what YOU do..? IE. What is your sleep routine, what do you and your family eat, what type of fasting do you do, do you take any supplements, what do you definitely avoid, what do you definitely consume, what’s your exercise routine.. etc. I understand that we’re all different and have different choices & lifestyles. So what suits you won’t suit everyone. But, as well as being the best educator on the web, you are also a role model and I’m sure I’m not alone in wondering ‘what does Dr Ekberg do?” Whether you can do a video like this or not, I thank you for everything you do. Take care.

I am a big fan of Stens videos too and he made me see that there is not that one and only recipe for health. Your body is unique and your goals may differ from other people goals. There are so many self appointed health gurus out there telling you about thier recipe or thier pill for sale. I appreciate to learn about how my body works and to listen to its responses to my behaviour. If I copy the behavior I can maybe get better but I give my responsibility for my body to someone else. Wouldn´t it be better to live your own life?
