TOP 5 Mods for MK7 Golf GTI and MK7 GOLF R. In this video we go over my personal TOP 5 favorite mods that have been done to my previous mk7 gti and mk7 golf R! Having these best mods for the golf r and the best mods for the golf gti really improve the overall enjoyment and fun factor these already awesome cars have to offer.

I feel like one of the biggest/ best mod would be a stage 1 tune? Changes the whole personality of the stock car.

Yeah I was let down this wasn’t part of top 5. I understand it gets expensive if you got a dsg but it definitely definitely makes your car much more enjoyable

Another great video, I have a 13 gti. My favorite mods r the brembo gt bbk, apr intercooler, awe exaust, super pro front control arms and h&r rear sway bar. Plus the apr ecu, tcu tune and down pipe, these mods transformed my car into a very fun car. Keep up the good work.

I love how you have auto. My gf is about to get one and she can't drive stick so it's nice to see mods on a auto. I drive a manual mustang gt so it's a different breed for me.

I just picked up a Golf R. But from my other car my GLI, I highly recommend a Fluidamper Harmonic Balancer.

None of these mods are "must-haves". Imagine paying 1800 for brakes when u have phenomenal brakes on the Golf R as is.

Agree completely. If you're not actively tracking the car, a 4 piston caliper is just an expensive aesthetic mod.

I’ve heard intakes actually decrease performance quite a bit. Can someone educate me on this real quick? I have the APR intake (unfortunately it’s a closed box) but someone lemme know! Love your videos man Congrats on 5k!

Decrease, no. But depending on other mods, may be unneeded. If you are tuned I would for sure. The apr closed eliminates hot dense air. Thus its closed vs. Open design.

Depends on the intake, you wanna get a closed box that gets as much air as possible like the racingline r600 or integrated engineering with the lid. But in reality to get the full effect you'll need a bigger inlet pipe, outlet/discharge pipe and a tune that'll utilize more airflow

Big brakes don’t really do a lot other than prevent brake fade. Stopping is stopping unless you’re flying around a track not giving your rotors a chance to cool off...

Agreed but everyone has their own top 5 mods. Most say Ecu and sway bar and then it varies from there. My other 3 would be pedal box, intake box mod/inlet pipe and a turbo inlet elbow. I have done a few other mods but I like those best, so far.

Drove the car very hard for two years and it was heavily modified. For the most part these cars are pretty reliable 👍

For those of you lookinng for a tune (which is what i consider the 1st or 2nd best mod too do) everyone knows apr is great but i would personally sacrifice the small bit of power for what i would consider an overall much better and safer tune from revo. Revo offers a bunch of safety cutoffa for your engine aswell as a dongle too be able to switch through different octane tunes in your car with a switch as opposed to apr where your stuck with whatever tune you had set. That little thing alone shooed me away from apr(that and they dont sell stage two downpipes anymore🥲😂
