We bought this bar several months ago. One of the finest pieces of equipment I've used. Construction is second to none. After we received the yoke bar my wife (who is 65 ) looked at me after her second set and said "wow this is awesome", the first time in years that she box squatted shoulder pain free. Yes I'm also old as dirt and this has made a huge difference in my ability to squat pain free (shoulders have seen better days). I've been a customer of Elitefts since the beginning and they just keep getting better. Thanks for the top five, can't wait to do the JM's with this bar. Whether your a professional trainer, gym owner, or want to add a superior product to your garage gym I highly recommend you order this bar. Thanks guys!

It fixed my good morning squat by forcing my chest up. And it fixed my elbow tendonitis from low bar squatting so my bench improved. It does what Dave says, quality is top notch, nuff said.

@luisperera11274 жыл бұрын
How do you do carries on it? Sorry if it’s a dumb question
@regwong97162 жыл бұрын
@@luisperera1127 To do carries with the SSB you can flip it around and hold it like you would in a SSB Front Squat so the weight is in front of you like some type of strongman front carry (similar to Zercher carries etc.), which is excellent for wrestling/grappling in general. SSB lunge walks are great as well. Loading it really heavy on your back and walking with it is another issue though...when I first competed in strongman I thought walking with a heavy bar on my back is an OK idea to substitute as a yoke walk but quickly was informed by way more experienced guys that if anything awkward happens or you trip you would just fall with the barbell on you which can be dangerous. It might be on a video with Brian Alsruhe but as an alternative when trying to mimic strongman yoke walk with any type of bar is to use chains that hangs near the floor and hook plates up that way. (Sorry this is a bad description, better dug up the video instead) That way if you do have to dump the weight the plate will touch the floor right away and nothing (hopefully) will come crashing down on you except having an empty bar on your back. The weight also waves around a bit which helps improve your stability as well. Just my experience with it, others experiences may vary, old comment but hope it helps.

I’ve watched a couple of vids showing the 6 or so uses of this bar. Can someone please explain why this one is so much better than the ones that are cheaper. I’m honestly just trying to make a decision, not hating on the yoke bar at all.

@baconblaster6422 Жыл бұрын
i dont go past 185 (or 205 if bar weight is considered) and just put a one minute timer on. I am still sore every week since doing them. its well over 20 reps but I am jsut trying to squeeze the shit out of my upperback/scaps. im 250 pounds. when I am not sore I will move it to 2 plates. only been doing for 2 weeks though

@@baconblaster6422 Thanks. I've been doing that with about 205. Works great.

This bar now makes me look forward to leg day. It takes far less weight than conventional to annihilate my legs… I’m curious why
@thebadburrito139410 ай бұрын
Since the weight is angled to the front and away from you, it's basically a front squat without as much mobility needed.

@@Ainttrippin I agree with you, mostly, that's why I said everyone has different struggles. Just like you and I have things we should be doing better at, but don't. I can see this argument as frivolous, sure. However, I also thinks it's an important thing to understand. Simply seeing someone's flaws and pointing them out without self awareness or a macro understanding of the flaw doesn't lead to anything constructive.
