V max?

+joracer1 Great bike In a class by itself that's why it's not included try looking for Diavel Vmax Triumph Rocket 3 comparisons they are all part of the same niche but not real cruisers. Harley invented cruisers decades ago so they should at least look like a cruiser don't you think? That is also why they are much faster they aren't as disadvantaged as a real cruiser performance wise. V4 don't count 2.3 liter car engine don't count Sportbike engine installed in a monster frame oh yeah just put a 240 tire on that single sided swingarm nothing says cruiser than a single sided swingarm oh yeah!!! I think you get it right?! Btw I'd pick a Vmax over the other 2 any day Thanks for watching and commenting

Paulk Master yes ok, but i always thought of the v max as a muscle cruiser, muscle being the key word...as far as v twin i have to put indian at the top of the heap, they are going in the right direction, and if hd don't get off their laurals their ass will be handed to them...imo

+joracer1 Don't disagree that Vmax is king even vs the bag of sh$& Diavel but have you heard the Vmax exhaust note it sounds like my V4 Vfr1200f and does not have off idle torque of say an m109r or Raider it still takes 3k+revs to get that sweet spot pull and yes the Vrod as well but off idle pull of a Vrod is stronger than even a Vmax. I know I know a Vmax would make short work of a Vrod but I gotta say a Vmax is not gonna get invited to a poker run whereas a Vrod would reluctantly sneak in via the back door because of the name plate. Please understand I have always loved the Vmax both 1st and 2nd gens and someday wish to own one but I know with this ownership I'll be riding solo like with my Vfr1200f and Buell XB9R Firebolt.

The Vmax is a cruiser, Yamaha/Star motorcycle brochures even call it a Muscle Cruiser, your just a Harley fan boy.

+Happy Gilmore wow right if a sales brochure said it that mean it's gotta be true. I guess it doesn't matter that it's a V4 and doesn't have rolling thunder sound of a real Vtwin. Again I say Harley invented the cruiser many decades ago at least pay some homage to this fact by making it a Vtwin at the very least. You have to admit Harley sounds way better than a Vmax even though of course it's not as fast

Good, respectable list. I'm on a Night Rod, the original gen. (2006), Curious, Paulk, would you rank the original Night Rod better or worse than the Special? On the downside, smaller fuel tank, minimal power difference. On the plus side, smaller rear tire makes for nimbler handling, mid pegs standard helps too. Your thoughts?
@paulkmaster3231
@paulkmaster3231 7 жыл бұрын
+YouMotorcycle well I agree with you as far as performance 1st gen might be better it's lighter handles better and the only mid controls from the factory and 50lbs plus lighter than 2nd gen it was a fantastic bike it gives away nothing in acceleration. The looks department is debatable the Fat 240 tire and other styling cues really give 2nd gens a more aggressive look. They needed to horsepower increase just to compensate for the added weight. Thanks for watching and commenting

+YouMotorcycle I have a friend in Tampa with a 1st gen did a ghetto exhaust and tuner then had it Dyno tuned it's making more power than mine!! 111.53hp vs 115.1rwhp plus it's lighter the only thing I have over that 1st gen is the looks of the 240 tire and some added styling cues. 👍

Nice #2 bro! I was considering the M109, V-Rod, and VMax when I ended up deciding on the Raider. The fit and finish was superior to all of the previously mentioned, minus the V-Rod, and was something I could pack luggage on for road trips. Definitely a solid traveler. Nice review!
@mikebuckingham5486
@mikebuckingham5486 7 жыл бұрын
For me, muscle cruisers pretty much demand respect from other "normal" cruiser riders, and even sport bike riders as well. They are to be intimidating and have solid performance, along with a more aggressive stance and look.If I were to choose my top 5 Muscle Cruisers, I think my list would look something like this: #5 - Victory Hammer - Has a more sporty look, along with that fat 240 in back, it just looks like it's ready to hit the drag strip right off the showroom floor. Lacks real power though. #4 - M109R - Super nice lines! Also has the meaty 240 rear to boot. What I really liked about it was the semi-sportbike look of a bike that has a V-Twin motor...and a powerful one as well. That tank lip though! Just couldn't see passed the lip. Very comfy though for the long haul. #3 - Harley V-Rod/Muscle - What can you say? The bike has a beautiful fit and finish, awesome lines, and a nice revving motor. It really changed the way a lot of us view HD. Ground breaking when it was released, and by far the coolest HD ever offered to the public...at least in my view. #2 Ducati Diavel/Diavel X - Yes, Ducati Diavel! It is actually regarded by Ducati as their line of cruiser. The Diavel offers up to 162 HP depending on the electronic power setting, has ABS, 9 settings of traction control (and you'll need it!), a fat 240 designed by Pirelli which extends the radius of the profile to be more manageable through the twisties, and that single sided swing-arm just exudes sexy. Now for my #1 - When I'm out riding and end up at a local watering hole, some bikes get attention and some don't. There are fast bikes there (usually of the sport bike variety), dressers, custom twins, maybe even a few naked's and dual sport motorcycles as well. A lot to chose from when enjoying two wheeled eye candy. But if this one pulls in the lot, anyone with a lick motorcycle sense knows it has one job, and ONLY one job...to kick ass and take names. The baddest of the bad that I'm speaking of isn't the best bike when it comes to MPG(good luck getting past a gas station), by far isn't the most comfortable, you can't pack luggage or a fat chick on the back (LOL), but will flat out kick your ass if you piss him off. It's the Mike Tyson of cruisers. With upwards of 175HP, and 120+ ft.lbs. of torque, this bike can flex it's "muscles" at any time. It's raw, it's mean, and it's the most intimidating in its class. It's the Gen ll, Yamaha VMax! Brute ugly power, what else could a guy with an attitude need?

+Mike Buckingham Excellent commenting Mike. The victory the Vrod the the m109r the Raider you can put them in any order I'm ok with that. The Vmax and Diavel are incredible bikes but as I said not Muscle cruisers!!! You can park them at bike night and a lot of people are interested when you leave you'll be riding by yourself. No cruisers will wanna ride with you at least not down here in Miami. Also I noticed people hold on to their Vmax but not the Diavel including yourself or is it just me btw I'd rather have a Vmax trust me I'd already own one but no one would ride with me if I did!!! Please keep watching and commenting ✌️

I would have to disagree with you on the VMax and Diavel not being muscle bikes. I've read quite a few articles comparing the VMax and Diavel with muscle bikes. Here's one of them: www.autoevolution.com/news/muscle-bike-trio-ducati-diavel-yamaha-vmax-and-triumph-rocket-iii-45409.html Yes, I did get rid of the Diavel and opted for a general cruiser which is the Raider. My tastes had changed, and I needed something I could pack for roadies. Also, didn't care much for the thing stalling a couple of times when coming up to stop lights. I hear that that issue has been resolved, but my tastes have remained, and I like having the option of traveling distance for days on end. Hence, the Raider is the perfect fit for me. I guess I never considered if someone might or might not ride with me if I owned a VMax. Probably because I generally ride alone anyway. Those slow cruiser guys just can't keep up! :-D Ha!

oychoppa Muscle bikes yes Muscle cruisers not really ...to be honest the only comparison should be against each other Vmax Diavel and Rocket. Even then they are all radically different. Like I've said many times I'd own a Vmax tomorrow if anyone would ride with me on cruiser nights. ✌️

Just to add as i see a few people bringing up the Diavel and VMax... Love them both but to me they're in a catagory all their own, where I see the Diavel as a sport-cruiser-naked bike and don't get me wrong its a bad-ass machine that I would love to own and as for the VMax (OMG!!!), nothing else compares, it's just a odd looking eat-you-up and spit-you-out machine like no other!

+ruger 1911 yeah they are different and I hate cookie cutter bikes so I guess I should give that rocket 3 a chance plus I love torque even more than horsepower.. All my bikes are not mainstream bikes and have good torque. My Buell XB9R Firebolt is the most unique my Vfr1200f is a fantastic sport touring bike and my Vrod Muscle which of course is slower than the Rocket but it ain’t that much slower plus the Harley-Davidson guys I ride with don’t give me a hard time on group rides. @paulkmaster3231
@paulkmaster3231 6 жыл бұрын
+AzzKicker 1234 all the bikes I mentioned will fit as well as any other style of bike with the exception of the Vrod it’s like 3/4 the size of the other 4. But try it out anyways you might be surprised plus you can test ride any Harley-Davidson’s free anytime. All these bikes have a lot of torque and weight but I’m sure you can handle it just take it slow till you gain confidence. The Harley-Davidson newest bike with 107’s and 114 have decent power but wouldn’t beat these 5 bikes imo. Lmk how it goes highly recommend abs brakes btw just in case you encounter a panic stop it helps. I know the M109r has the most powerful brakes but no Abs the Vrod is mediocre brakes but have abs available.

Yes Paul, the VTX 1800 was.made for 6 years, 2002 to 2008. However, the V twin with the fastest 0 to 60, was not the M 109. That was the VTX 1800. The M 109 had the quarter mile, as of 2004, when it took Honda's crown. Good list brother. Some worthy v twins on it.

@@150tarynsomeone needs to look up Buell. There's a reason Hardly sold them. And there's notjing wrong with doing the list from a Harley posered sport bike, or even a moped, for that matter. Last I checked, ain't no law sayibg obe must be rid9bg a muscle cruiser, to talk about them. Wife and i own 13, from a Honda Rickus, and dirt nijes, to sport bikes for track and atreet, xruiserd, tourers, and a couple Brit and UJM rides. And all of them get ridden. That's the differences between a biker, and a casual. Casual thibks, if it ain't X, why own it? A biker Knows it's about fun, no matter What you ride.

The m109 is a great bike, and it was a toss up for me between rocket 3 and raider and m109... it all boiled down to which bike I could find for a decent price first. All worthy of top 5 and for once the diavel and vmax were left out, which arent proper muscle cruisers anyway... there actually reffered to as "hyper cruisers" from what I read in an article. Very Subjective, obviously it really depends on the person, where I live, riding a Vrod Muscle/Nightrod is like riding a Ferrari, eveeybody looks at you, anywhere I go, people constantly takes pictures of my bike. When buying a bike, one buys for passion, since it is a hobby, not for a bang for the buck. Riders buy what bats the eye. Excellent video and I agree with your choice in the conditions mentioned, can you please give me again your email again, tuesday I will be sending my biked pictures for your videos, thanks!

Angel Negron Thanks very much for watching yes it's subjective and it's my humble opinion. But to prove my honesty I made my current bike the Vrod muscle last place my good friends 4rth place my other good friends 3rd place and the bike I traded in for my Vrod 1st place! It's what I thought would be a general consensus. For me personally it's the muscle all the way but for most it would be the M109r but only if you like it's styling which I love as much as my Muscle if not the Raider. Most but not all prefer the VROD's/Nightrod styling. All I can say is ride an M109r one time I'm sure you at least have a lot of respect for that bike but probably not enough to trade the Harley for it. +Angel Negron Not really sure someone told me I don't know if it's a fact that the VROD was expensive to manufacture and sold every one at a loss. But that might be wishful thinking. However the complexity and materials are for the most part exceptional I know the foot pegs are garbage but not much else .... it's very good quality more so than an M109r no chromed plastics and stuff. The revolution engine lives on as the smaller revolution engines in the street 500 street 750 and Streetrod 750 but made in India.

Thanks so much for taking the time to put this video together. However, next time it may be less confusing to everyone by changing the title to top 5 v-twin muscle cruisers. Cuz as it is top 5 muscle cruisers and no Yamaha V-max 1st gen., who everyone knows is aka the muscle king of cruisers 0-60 in under 3 seconds & low 10 sec 1/4 mile.. Held this title for 20+ yrs. Very few need more acceleration but, then u have the 2nd gen. V-max so have fun watching my tail lights with a Suzuki V-twin "muscle" cruiser.

+Matthew Jackson Yamaha Vmax it's got Muscle part for sure. Cruiser part not really. Yamaha under the same guidelines of a true cruiser produced the Raider with the biggest engine 113 cu. in. And it's not as fast as the Suzuki 109cu.in. or the Vrod 76cu.in. think about it.A V4 will always beat a Vtwin if all things equal. I love V4's I own a Vfr1200f sport touring it also does low 10's 1/4 mile 10.16@137mph. Vmax is a bad ass bike but it's competition is the Diavel and the rocket3 maybe the very similar Honda Magna V65. Just so you know the Vmax is my favorite so I'm not a hater. I half agree with you, Yamaha Vmax is basically a 600 pound sport bike. The triumph rocket roadster is 800 pound cruiser with the largest motor in a cruiser The most powerful heavy weight cruiser since 2004 they don't call it the V-twin killer for nothing, I had a raider for a couple years and yes it is a powerful V twin but it's nothing like my triump. I bought my Tryan brand new in 2016 and have loved every minute of it there is no other cruiser on the freaking planet like this bike nothing compares to it it's in a league all its own

+ruger 1911 I agree with you 100% especially about Triumph Rocket just wish someone could make a faster Vtwin that’s traditional style that’s all. I can take my Vrod and hang out with MC clubs beat up on them and still ride home with the group and belong. If you start beating up on them with your Rocket they’ll go home without you lol. It’s fun beating up on Sportbikes at the light though isn’t it ..all that torque! ✌️

I don't think resale value on Vrod will go down much if at all. Don't think service or parts availability is going to change much either for a long time to come. That's my opinion I own a discontinued Buell XB9r Firebolt from 2007 I can access new and used parts no problem. Resale value did go down on my Buell but seems to be rising again. Don't think the vrod or nightrod will have the same problem it not as weird as the Buells were and have demand till someone makes a faster better cruiser none exist yet. I've been riding motorcycles since 1986 this is actually the first bike that I actually intimidated me when I got on it but once I got used to it's giant size and it's big power it's hard to describe. The sad part about it is is if I ever decide to trade this in for another cruiser I would have to downsize on power, because there's no V-twin cruiser that could match its raw power
@paulkmaster3231

+ruger 1911 again I agree. Even if you bought a Zx14r it still doesn’t make any serious torque below 4500rpm. Now watch Sportbike guys gonna say I’m wrong but they haven’t ridden a Rocket either so they don’t understand the concept of brute torque they only understand horsepower. Torque is that thing that causes your hands to slip off the handlebars or your tire to shred the second you crack open the throttle no waiting for a powerband BS here!!! 👍

Man..no Diavel or VMAX? Or maybe they're more sport. It's almost impossible to tell categories anymore. Riding a gen 2 VMAX now and love it, runs with modern liter bikes to 100 legitimately. However, the range sucks. Close to pulling the trigger on an S1000XR. Basically a "sport bagger" and trapping close to 140 while being damn near as agile as super sports, and all day comfort. It's a good time to be into bikes. Just need more garage space and time.lol

@paulkmaster3231
@paulkmaster3231 7 жыл бұрын
+Donovan Lewis with all due respect cruisers were invented by Harley Davidson since like forever. Many manufacturers have mimicked the basic layout and that's fine in fact I chose a Suzuki as winner. The Diavel has a Vtwin and fat bike tire and that's it put it next to any of the bikes I choose and you'll see right away it doesn't belong in this category. Thanks for watching and commenting

+Donovan Lewis again I respect your opinions but I don't agree the Diavel and XDiavel are not even I the same ballpark the Vrod itself barely fits into the segment and pushed the boundaries and yes the Ducati is faster due to its Sportbike DNA but it is basically a modified panigale Thanks for your comments
@donovanlewis7142
@donovanlewis7142 7 жыл бұрын
+Paulk Master If you think a XDiavel is basically a modified Panigale you really should do some research because that is SO far from the truth its not even funny. Stop thinking Diavel, other then the tire size the XDiavel is a completely different bike. Some points, the XDiavel was designed specifically for the American market, to give that American riding style. People from Ducati spent over a year in CA getting ideas, leaning how Americans like to ride and designing the bike. The bike shares nothing with the Panigale except for the brakes, the bike is very unique. The Testastretta motor in the bike started in the 1098 /1198 and is a "race" motor but again it is unique to the XDiavel because its 1262cc and has a longer stroke then any other Ducati to give it that more "American" feel. The bike was designed as a muscle cruiser and is the only modern muscle cruise because no one else has updated there bikes in a really long time. The XDiavel gets placed in the exact same group as the Vrod and A LOT of Vrod riders have switched over to a XDiavel because its a much better bike.
@paulkmaster3231
@paulkmaster3231 7 жыл бұрын
+Donovan Lewis well you really came out with guns blazing I admire that. Ok point at a time yes this bike was designed to get US riders into the Ducati market. But so is the Vmax and the Rocket 3. Both of those bikes are closer to the segment but again don't check the right boxes V4 and a Triple. But they aren't sitting in a trellis frame either. That frame looks exactly like a stretched monster frame so maybe we should put forward controls and a 240 tire on a monster but stick a modified for more torque 1199 motor oh yeah that is what a Diavel is. If Ducati was truly serious they would used a traditional downtube frame with a cruiser style over hang with stepped pillion like all true cruisers have. You know why they don't because it would sacrifice handling and ground clearance. The engine is taken directly out of a superbike and retuned which I don't really have a problem with it's the styling and layout that ruins it for me. I know I read the wiki information on Diavel about harley owners particularly Vrod owners trading in their VROD's left and right to get ahold of a Diavel but I haven't seen it in real life. You know it' also says women are interested in those bikes too but never seen a chick on one yet. Anyways I'm not trying to insult Ducati owners they are cool 😎. There is a lot to say but when I want to cruise I take my Vrod if I wanna go fast I take my Vfr1200f(it's faster and quicker than a Diavel) if I want to hit the corners I take my Buell XB9R Firebolt and yeah all those bikes aren't clearly defined in their segments but they are close enough. Anyways if you own a Diavel or XDIAVEL then just enjoy it...it's a one of kind bike and that's the point ☝️ thanks for debating

+Ron Pettit I didn't include these bikes in this comparison not because I dislike them but because imo they aren't true cruisers. Harley invented the cruiser Willie G himself helped define it decades ago so a true cruiser should have a similar format the Diavel because of its weird stance and look. The Vmax because of the V4 and also has non conventional foot control position. There are other reasons as well that I don't want to discuss. Thanks for watching and commenting

I think the speed of all the different bikes varies on the state. Some states have strong emission standards. My M109R will do 145 with no hesitation whereas my VRod wont go past 131 and believe it or not the VRod has the WORST fuel economy of the bunch. Michigan doesn't have emission standards or a vehicle inspections. Paulk Master, when you come to Michigan. Hit me up and ill let you ride my 109 so you'll be able to see what I'm talking about.
@paulkmaster3231

Daniel Greene Daniel Florida has the same emissions standards as Michigan That was my M109r that was racing up and down the street I had a 2014 M109r I bought brand new I then installed a Power Commander 5 K+N Airfilters and debaffled exhaust I saw 142mph indicated and my buddies 2012 VROD Muscle passed me!!! His speedometer maxed at 138mph after he passed me. The speedometer is too optimistic on the M109r. I read that from an M109r hater on the M109riders blog so I didn't take it seriously but it's gotta be the truth because my 2016 VROD Muscle beat that same 2012 VROD Muscle same road about a year later. I've never seen 140mph yet on the VROD speedometer because it hits the rev limiter pretty sure. The M109r is speed governed if you look it's got another 1k to go in 5th gear but don't know if it has enough power to hit it but definitely should go another 5mph at least never seen anybody do it yet though. You own both have somebody ride one and see for yourself the speedometer difference at top speed. The Zukey9R dominates the dig the VROD from a roll everytime at almost any speed. The Suzuki feels faster but you know on the highway it's not nearly as impressive. That's when the VROD is incredible. Anyways thanks for watching and commenting you have #1 #3 and #5. Be happy 😊

I own a VTX 1800 and would definitely put it above the M109R in many categories but my main point and reason to comment is that you miss the number one power Cruiser of all time hands down and that is the VMAX. It's by far the fastest of any of these bikes. No legitimate reason not to be in the top five but in my opinion it's easily number one
@paulkmaster3231
@paulkmaster3231 4 жыл бұрын
Vmax is fast no doubt and so is the Diavel and Rocket 3 but it ain’t no cruiser. Vtwin powered on a laid back frame just like your Vtx1800 that’s a cruiser. Just because a manufacture calls their bike a cruiser doesn’t make it so. One look at a Diavel is a perfect example even though it’s a vtwin it’s not a cruiser. A 4cylinder V4 is not a cruiser a 3cyl is not a cruiser even though the rocket looks like a cruiser the most “cruiserish”out of the three. I wouldn’t mind owning a Vmax but no cruiser group riding will want me riding that! So if I’m riding solo I’d rather get a ZX14r and blow away any Vmax or Diavel or Rocket 3 even the new Rocket 3 would get annihilated by a ZX14r. So I’d stick with your VTX1800 or an M109r or Vrod Muscle or Nightrod Special etc... they are way cooler bikes in my opinion anyway or a Raider or old Warrior etc....thanks for commenting

Im sure you've been told this before but you really need to hop on both the old and the new YAMAHA VMAX. If you love the power and style combo, the original vmax a 25-30 year old design still outruns a 2017 vrod muscle/nightrod any day of the week.

My triump rocket roadster is 146 horse power and 163 pounds of torque it would absolutely destroy every bike you mentioned and the Yamaha Vmax is even more powerful, just to educate you my friend those are the two most powerful cruisers on the planet have been for years

+ruger 1911 definitely faster bikes I agree ☝️ a 2.3 liter triple and a V4 1700cc monster. Cruisers not so much no one is going to accidentally take these for cruisers they don’t look or sound like cruisers fast as they are. I think if they were a standard cruiser format Vtwin long low frame they would have same performance in fact Yamaha the Vmax brand makes the largest Vtwin power cruiser 113ci Raider but it’s not faster than M109r or Vrod. I’d love to buy a Vmax but no one will ride with me then not because of its performance but because it’ doesn’t fit in with Harley and Harley Clones and Sportbikes don’t wanna it either. I know I ride both styles everyday. Thanks for watching and commenting

I think you got the Raider wrong. The Warrior is a better all around muscle bike than the Raider. The Raider doesn't handle nearly as well, braking isn't as good, and the power per pound is less. Warrior tops the Raider in the 0-60 and the 1/8th mile and even the 1/4 mile i believe.

Meh. The Raider is a great bike but it's more a standard cruiser. The "S" just means chrome. VTX exhaust note doesn't sound right to me and I don't much like the 109 but okay. Hammer yes. Vegas no (Only two discs). You left off two of the greatest Muscle Cruisers ever: Yamaha Warrior and Ducati XDiavel. My picks: 1-XDiavel, 2-Warrior, 3-Hammer, 2-VRod Muscle (lack of comfort and handling hurts it), 5-M109 (shaft drive brings it down).

+Hans Gruber Thanks for watching and commenting. Yamaha replaced warrior with the Raider Vtx exhaust note along with m109r sound weird I agree. Vegas is lighter and quicker than a Hammer look it up. Vrod is the most uncomfortable but handles excellent I've read power cruisers comparison say the Nightrod drag pegs to soon but I can tell you the M109r drags way sooner.i don't consider an XDiavel as a cruiser even though Ducati markets it as a cruiser. It's a naked with a 240 tire and peculiar styling. Just trying to cash in on the popular cruiser market. Ducati is an exciting brand but they aren't going to make a bike that gonna look the part at a biker club. All the bikes I've chosen will fit in or at least look like they fit in. Thanks

kampfer M109r style and weight is not for everyone. Vrod is not cheap but since they stopped production last ones on the floor might be discounted. Stryker is a nice bike but the Stryker guy that rides with us complains not enough hp to ride with us VROD's the M109r doesn't have a problem against VROD's. The Raider is Twowheelobsession pick for Muscle cruisers and Motorcycle USA picked Raider s over the M109r in an overall comparison. If performance is main objective than Vrod or M109r if all else Raider if price than M109r or Stryker they are cheaper. Looks Raider or Vrod you have a lot of choices. Thanks

As long as you don't have a lot of picky Harley group riders and you're not running with VROD's and M109r's you should be in good shape. If you ride solo 99% of the time and you really dig the bike just get it doesn't matter what I or anybody else says you will love it. And I respect that. IMO it fits the muscle cruiser mold better than a Rocket a Diavel a Vmax any day. You can ride with my crew anytime I'd be proud to ride along side a TBird they remind of a 70's chopped out Bonneville only prettier and more modern. 👍

Half of these are not even considered Muscle Cruisers! Where's the Yamaha V-Max, Ducati Diavel and of course the Triumph Rocket 3? The only 2 on here that can even be considered Muscle Cruisers on this list are the V-Rod and the M109, which I know for a fact the Rocket 3 can out run both and the Diavel and V-Max can out run the R-3. You may want to revamp this list a bit.

Buells aside, H*rleys are girls' bikes. And MT-09s are comfy because it's a sit-up-and-beg riding position; not that cheese with your feet way in front and low, like a fucking barcalounger..

+Paul F sitting upright like in a chair is more comfy than a lazy boy? Mt-09 is comfy compared to an R1 but not a Harley-Davidson touring bike Streetglide Roadglide or Ultra. Pretty damn sure you haven’t put any distance on one based on what you said. Girls bike? Sure Men’s bike sure more people own Harley-Davidson than any other brand in the states and second only to Honda worldwide. Even though they are so common they hold resale better than any other brand that’s what’s most amazing. Think about it

Paulk Master How much LONG distance riding you done leaning back with your feet so far forward you have to pull on the bars to put weight on your legs? I guarantee you the small of your back will be aching and spazzing long before you would in a position where you're sitting straight, heels in line with your butt, and enough room to sit a bit forward or back for changes. Leaning back against a sissy bar while riding concentrates stress at the back of waist. And yes, I'm aware that most Hardly Ableson riders are bankers playing dress-up nowadays. They got Harely fucking golf clubs for fuck sake - but I think the sexiest V-twin of ancient design is the Vincent, and the originals sure hold their value, too..

+Paul F Go watch a review about these bikes they are super comfy for long rides. Hell Harley-Davidson will even let you test ride anytime that’s why they sell so many. People get hooked once they actually ride them. Listen I was a hater too only rode Japanese bikes. You don’t have go 150mph to have fun and enjoy motorcycling. I will almost promise you if you keep riding and not give up on motorcycling your gonna end up on a Harley-Davidson someday..that or you will not be riding your entire life like me. What you got an MT-09 why do you like it? I bet you beat up on liter bikes all the time right?! Because it’s got torque and nice leverage to the bars so unless they are expert riders your gonna smoke them accept on long straight aways right. Which ain’t all the time. Still sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about? Well anyways I have a sport touring bike the Vfr1200f which I’d be happy to ride with you if you think I’m the golf club banker type watch how slow I ride. But I can chill and just enjoy that pushrod sound that no one can seem to imitate. Harley-Davidsons have amazing torque you don’t have to give it a lot all of throttle or revs to get it going no it doesn’t have 200hp but it does have 100lb ft of torque and that’s fun without the revs. The engine vibrates but it’s a cool vibe and sound is amazing like a V8 American Muscle car. Ive seen stunning Sportbike to Harley-Davidson converted guys that are just unbelievable. People that would never stop talking about how bad primitive unreliable slow ugly etc....Harley-Davidson is. For example My best friend was a track days guy with a track only bike and a CBR1000rr he’s now owned 4 Harley-Davidson’s in the last 4 years still has 3. He went for a test ride and the rest is history. He still owns the CBR1000rr but rarely rides it. He is an expert rider. Anyways point is keep an open mind

+Paul F yeah some of them do. Going around bends? You haven’t seen my buddy Jack ride his Fat Bob. He traded his 2016 for the new 2017 Fat Bob it handles unreal top quality suspension pieces and lots of ground clearance lighter and more conventional rider triangle(he can hang off better now). Before you laugh I’m telling you he’s like the crazy Harley guy on N’ickey Mouse in California Sportbike guys can’t keep up with him in the curves. I rode it I was amazed and he’s got the “S” model too with the 114 engine not the little 107. They have factory stage 3 kits that put it at 142 rear wheel horsepower not torque but horsepower. Torque is like 135lbft to the tire. All with 2 year unlimited mile warranty if done within 90 days of purchase. Even the Vrod has only 125hp but does low to mid 11’s and low to mid 3sec 0-60’s and it weighs more than the new Fat Bob. That’s like as fast as a lot of naked bikes out there but it’s just a cruiser with a 9000+ rpm rev limiter stock! Keep an open mind

+Spartan117KC oh you mean a zx14r or H2r? Largest displacement? Raider is 113cu inch man!!!! That's huge!!! M109r? That's 109cubic inches!!! I ride and own both Sportbikes and cruisers they are totally different and totally satisfying for totally different reasons. Paulk Master did you even read my post? Your video was about 'power cruisers' right? Then why are you bringing up sport bikes? 1)How is a Triumph Rocket III not a cruiser? 2) It may seem hard to convert CCs to CUins but a Rocket III is 2294CCs, or for 'Mericuns, it's 140CIs. Last I checked 140CIs > 113 CIs. Just seems that a video about 'Power Cruisers' should have production bikes with lotsa power. And while you may not think so, look up a Rocket III X on Google and tell me it doesn't look as goo as any of the others you mentioned. They look great and would blow the pants of any of the five on your list.

+Spartan117KC no I did read ...a Triple is not a cruiser engine bad ass as it is like the busa zx14r H2r are bad ass engines but not cruiser engines. I could put a Supra turbo in a mustang and call it ponycar... I could advertise it as a ponycar does that make it a ponycar? If you don't understand the cruiser concept watch some chopper build shows or Harley documentaries. I have nothing against these bikes they are cool but not real cruisers. If they were a true cruiser format they wouldn't have that much of an advantage in power or handling and that's a fact. Think about it
@Spartan117KC
@Spartan117KC 6 жыл бұрын
Oh I've thought about it, soooo a "Paulk Master Cruiser" can only have a two piston V-Twin engine. (And probably only inline, gotta have a rear cylinder getting re-milled after 20 or so thousand miles due to overheating right?) So what other qualifications do you have? Bad brakes? (or no front brake like a lot of 'cruisers' I've witnessed?) Just because you don't believe they are a 'cruiser' doesn't mean pretty much everyone else doesn't. Especially the people who buy them. I guess that should disqualify especially the V-ROD, it's liquid cooled after all. 'True' Cruisers don't need no stinkin antifreeze right? You'll keep your loose tolerances, over weight, under sprung suspension, right side up forks, etc. Sorry Paulk, be a fan boy of Harley, they're needing all they can as their customers are getting older and retiring from riding. Oh, and those new 750 Harley's , not real cruisers right?

+Spartan117KC Cmon man I'm not trying to make enemies would you be surprised that I'm from Japanese decent hell I was born in Fukuoka city Japan. I started out racing A Supra turbo Complete with Hks upgrades before anyone knew what they were. I can tell you that America is the greatest country on earth and through out history. I got smoked by a fox body up in Detroit and I knew he did it without spending over $50k in upgrades like I did I woke up instead of being resentful. I started out on SBC's then Ford stroked windsors. Started looking at Harley's and appreciating them instead of hating. You don't know me you don't know my perspective life begins when you start questioning why? You have a closed mind and because of that you limit your experiences. Classification is a way to sort out particularl niches. A lot of people break those boundaries sometimes it's good sometimes it just makes everything the same. Go get a rocket 3 I'll smoke it with my little Vfr1200f or my buddies CBR1000rr sp or my buddies Busa what does that prove ....nothing. It's not a cruiser period I don't give a damn what any marketing guy tries to say. Harley invented this segment any product that says it's a wannabe has to pay homage to the format. Period

No Indian Scout? No Diavel? No VMax? You got some test riding to do brother. And as some of the other folks have commented, you need to ride a bit safer. Stay on two wheels man.

+hooahayes The Indian Scout definitely belongs in this review sorry your right as well as the now defunct Victory Octane. Diavel is a naked bike marketed as a Cruiser which I find amusing a V4 Vmax is about the same. I’d chose the Vmax over the Ducati. If you want a Ducati buy a Monster it’s a way better all around bike. Or a Panigale. I’m literally about average in aggressive riding style compared to the dozens of riders I ride with and most of them are Harley guys...what gives? I ride every single day rain or shine for the last 5 years now owned dozens of bikes over 35 years of riding experience. Own 4 bikes licensed and fully insured. Maybe you have more experience? Do a review send me a link I’ll watch

I feel ya on the Diavel and VMax, they both definitely skirt the edges of a traditional cruiser, but man are they ridiculously fast. As far as riding experience you definitely have me beat. Only started riding in 2015 and have taken four MSF courses since then. Living in Tampa I commute on my Scout daily and I'll admit, during traffic jams I have ridden the shoulder once or twice to get home before the rain started. I realize lane splitting is legal in CA and I wish it was here also, but it still isn't legal, nor is filtering. People down here are too distracted to be getting that close unless traffic is basically stopped. You do you man, just saying be careful out there, there's really no need to be taking additional risks when people down here drive so shitty to begin with. And I'm certainly not saying I obey all traffic laws all the time. My Indian Scout literally begs to be ridden hard. I have about 22,000 miles on it now and bought it new in Dec '15. You really need to go do a test ride on one. Fantastic all around bike, very basic as far as equipment, comfortable riding position. Hp to weight and torque to weight ratios very close to the VRod without the aggressive clamshell position. Great turn in and lean angle [for a cruiser]. Classic looks with a super low seat height so you can always flat foot it. Smooth and linear power delivery with the exception of around the 5K rpm mark where the engine really comes on all the way up to the 8300 rpm rev limiter and top speed limited at 125mph. And if you do some modest upgrades [intake, PVCX, 2 into 1 exhaust] you will be looking at about 120 hp crank and 100hp at the wheels with a bike that weighs 100lbs less than the VRod. So for basically 13k you can have a bike that will be even with or beat a VRod and still be a few K under a VRod base price.

+hooahayes well Thanks very much for your comments. Down here in Miami most of the bikers lane split come down here and see. Except for baggers but they’ll cut to the service lanes without even blinking most of the time. It’s aggressive down here and traffic is insane. About 5 years ago I made the commitment to ride daily save gas and time. I never regretted it. Even in the rain I’d rather be riding than driving. It would take 45minutes to an hour to make the 8 mile commute. I would see bikers streaming down lanes all the time. When I switched 15-20 minutes!!! I have a change of clothes at work. If I get soaked on my way home who cares I’ll change when I get there. The scout is actually closer to 120lbs lighter. But VROD’s crank hp is 125-128hp mine dyno’d @111.53 rwhp at 93f temp at Petersen Harley-Davidson it only has slip ons and screaming eagle tuner which give zero extra power but sounds way better Vrod power comes in at 4000rpm and revs past 9000 rev limit. The 2-1 gives extra 6-7 hp but really changes sound quality on Vrod which I don’t like. I was surprised about a video of a scout tearing up a Vrod I’m sure there is a lot of extra power to be had on the scout. Wish it had the drag bike looks of the Vrod Muscle and the 240 tire looks awesome as well.

Yeah the 240 rear looks sick but it does affect the way the bike turns in. The guy that engineered the bottom end for the Scout said he designed it to handle 140hp, I'm assuming he means at the crank. I think I know the video you're talking about. That Scout was modified with an intake, tune, exhaust and a stronger clutch spring. If you look in the comments section I should be there. I really like the VRod, I considered buying one but it was out of my budget. There is no denying that it looks fantastic and that engine is fantastic, the position was uncomfortable to me though. I am honestly amazed that it never really caught on with Harley guys. That's one of the things I like about Indian. It looks like they aren't going to pidgeon hole themselves with the products they create. The FTR750 is an amazing race bike, I really hope they convert something like that into a standard bike in the vein of a Triumph Bonneville. Also, check out the Miracle Mike bike. 180hp Scout including the nitrous shot, it is sick. Then check out the Spirit of Munro bike that Indian is racing at Bonneville. They are really coming out strong to reestablish the brand. Honestly, I think Indian is the best thing to happen to HD guys in decades, it's going to force new products and pricing competition. T your other point on riding, yeah I can imagine that Miami is crazy to ride in. You should see if the city can authorize lanesplitting/filtering and shoulder use. I mean, it works in CA, why not here.

+hooahayes your preaching to the choir man. Indian is super cool. The Scout is my favorite Indian. I’m betting it can handle more than 140hp to the stock crank. I’m hoping they put in the Octane motor with even more horsepower. Than it had. The 240 tire does inhibit handling and takes away horsepower the untold truth is the 1st gen Vrod with the 1130cc motor and 180 tire was almost a half sec quicker 11.30 1/4 vs 11.7 with the 1250cc and almost 40lbs heavier of the 2nd gen’s. Anyways please check out Rideaparts discussion about lane splitting and tell me what you think m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLR3d5xypq_Kdok.html
