I am seriously stockpiling food, garden seeds, medication. These are the things that keep rising in price. My income is fixed and won't keep up with inflation. I also live in the north where I could get snowed in for several days. At this point, after a lot of planning, that doesn't worry me. The rest of it ....I stay informed but don't spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about those things since I can't protect myself beyond my home.

I think your scavenger skills are one of the best things you possess. I miss seeing those train track videos where you find food, clothes, etc. I’m a scavenger also. I have more than enough money to buy the necessities and most things I want. There just is something so satisfying finding those things free or very cheap but better yet realizing how little you truly need. My recent move back to the coast opened my eyes to how much prepper stuff I’ve accumulated. I cringed when I had to toss some food but I had no choice. I could live off the beach if I need to and live like a queen.

Great advice. I listened to 3 preppers last year who had me so terrified about starving that I spent $4,000 at the supermarket stockpiling food and I don’t have that kind of money so I used a credit card and it’s my own darn fault. I finally snapped out of it because ONE of those preppers admitted she got called out on her fear tactics, apologized for being irresponsible and drastically cut down on her postings. So, yeah, you do have to keep your ears and eyes open. And like you said…this is their business and should be treated accordingly. Good posting….thank you.

I’ve watched the videos from 70’s conspiracy theorist John Todd (aka Lance Collins). I was sick last weekend with the flu so I watched all of his Jimmy Carter-era videos. Todd said for us to stock up on food 50 years ago b/c of shortages. He was giving prepping advice back then!! The government was preaching gas shortages and they had grocery inflation back then. I’m so glad you put out this video so we won’t all be tempted to unnecessarily create a yucky food bunker. Thanks, Prepper Princess!

I admire you as a prepper woman. I am a prepper from San Antonio Texas. This is part of my creed when it comes to prepping: 1. If you need the cash, you don’t buy guns, gold or silver. You pay for your roof and utilities. Pay off your car. Buy food. 2. The purpose of Investing in precious metals is A). To preserve the value of the crashing dollar and B). To hold and let appreciate in value over time. An ounce of gold today is almost $2000. If you had bought that ounce in the 1980s you would have made a ton of money today. 3. Guns are NOT an investment. They’re tools. Just like I have a hammer and a screwdriver, I have different tools for different reasons. Buy what you need and can afford. You’re correct, If you’re not going to train with your tools, you’re wasting money and time. 3. Freeze dried food is just one way to tackle the food issue. It is not the only way. I don’t think you should have vast amounts of anything. I have what I feel is adequate for myself and my family. The rest is hoarding and I don’t believe in hoarding anything. Keep on prepping, WW3 thanks to Biden and the European Union has now begun. True story: I was given a lot of crap for “hoarding” until snowstorm URI turned the lights off in Texas for days. Because of my “hoarding” my family ate good warm food and was able to survive in a nice heated house while the rest of Texas froze and some even lost their homes and apartments. We still don’t have a count as to how many people died. I was also able to provide for security for my home as the police in San Antonio vanished for the duration. Prepping works but you can’t put all your eggs in one basket!

Thank you for the balanced, sane video. I have food put away, and enough clothes for quite awhile. But I, too, have tired of the talking heads saying the end of the world is tomorrow. Well, we moved to a safer housing complex with professional students/ professors and resident doctors. Someone may come to get bandaids or share Christmas cookies. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have been interested in survival and prepping for a long time, but mostly on the periphery of my mind. I think for me, the problem is that we don't have basic survival skills in the modern age, which goes to you point of learning to forage and fish, also taking care of your body in good times, so you can survive in bad times. I bought my first g at the beginning of the pandemic, because it occurred to me that there could be supply chain issues and I didn't even have basic self defense. But I never bought more than maybe a month ahead. I feel that if there is ever a situation where I need more than that...and I have lived through power outages with hurricanes....probably we are in a situation where we are looking at a new way of living. I have had dreams about this before and my conclusion even in my dreams is that the most valuable asset in the case of something extreme is community, and we have to think of ways to be valuable to the community. And there is also the distinct possibly that you have to physically leave you location. Good luck hauling all those rations, blocks of gold, weapons etc. I just don't see any scenario where I am holed up in my home going to war with my neighbors.

Great advice! My grandparents and parents survived the depression with very little formal education, but they had life skills - They new how to do stuff. Technology is great until one day you don't have it, and way too many people don't know how to do very much. Critical thinking is a life skill. Developing common sense. People don't think things through, they don't value what they have, and most ain't gonna make it. You have to live within your means, eat leftovers, learn to garden, preserve and cook. I'd much rather have friends with trade and gardening skills - at least we'll be able to trade for goods and services.

The last 3 years has shown me so much. Being debt free and finding balance with all things are important without a doubt. The suicide rate since 2020 also taught me that spending time with others is important and it cost money to do that. So I try to balance both out in my life. I take actions to pay debt but try to visit my son once a year and have a meal with family or friends once in a while. I have a year of supplies needed for my home and pantry along with a growing emergency fund. I also shop sales, keep utilities as low as possible and eat on coupons, share meals or buy special offer meals when going out. I like the $20 meals that two or three can eat, and yes they exist or I wouldn't go out.

Hi Prepper Princess, one of your U.K. subscribers here. If you have the time, I wondered if you might be happy to do a video about feeding pets well at this time of high inflation? I’ve never seen canned and dried cat and dog food on sale in U.K. supermarkets and the price, even in Aldi, is rising rapidly. It occurred to me that it might be the same in other countries. I love your channel and your ‘no nonsense’ approach and the clips of you with your dogs always make me smile 😊. Best wishes.

The best way we have done it is stayed as a family unit in a multi family home, the entire building is family. We save and work on our own vehicles, and home, we can lock down if needed. Keep up the positive work it's better to hear then the doom and gloom.

Best prepping: learn plumbing, electrical work, foraging, building a shelter, meditating to control panic mode...become the kind of person who keeps their calm in times of panic. You will survive and thrive. Much love

Part of having a good skill set makes you a valuable addition to a prepper community. Understanding construction.. electrical applications.. mechanics.. even long term food preservation are much needed skills in a primitive community setting

I learned from my aunt not to buy a huge amount of food to store. She bought a whole bunch of canned goods didn't rotate them just let them sit for food storage and they expired and it all went in the trash. Fear will make us do things we wouldn't ordinarily do.

Preppers Princess, you have been thinking along the same lines as I have -and that got me back to researching deeply and writing blog posts that take me a week to write. I love it. I don't listen to but a few 'Preppers" who jump to conclusions" from bad resources. Too bad they can't stick to their skills.they really have.

You are awesome very down-to-earth . I was listening to one that was getting me all paranoid I even bought sandbags Crazy I have to stand back and realize that God is in control of all things. And to listen to your gut we are listening to these people. You are breath of fresh air thank you.

I grew up with a similar logical preparedness mindset, and I have to say it's refreshing to hear this from you. Few content creators stick with sound logic, since emotional appeal/ fear mongering/ dramatics etc sell more.

I resisted buying freeze dried foods because why would I need it to last 25 -30 years if I'm rotating, growing and preserving? I'm keeping my shelves stocked with grocery foods until I get a handle on gardening, foraging, and hunting.
