I've got a 2007 with 333,281 miles. The only issues I have had are the catalytic converter going bad twice, a leaky valve cover, and ignition coils. Other than that, no issues at all. Still running original engine and transmission.

Awesome because I just replaced my fuel pump and filter and spark plugs and wires and did a full oil change and now my 2005 2.5 nissan altima is running so much better and purrs like a sewing machine instead of sounding like a pulp wood truck. Thanks for sharing this with us nissan altima folks...I look forward to more videos because I'm a single woman who does her own mechanic work, due to my lack of funds..

I've had my Nissan Altima for 5 years . Through all my wild life style till I settled down and really have been blessed with my Altima it's never has given me any problems what's so ever I'm at 180.000 miles not one issue..I had American cars my whole 20s nothing but problems ..

I'm the original owner of a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5s. It was my daily driver for 10 years and 120,000 miles. Not one issue. I love this car; drove it all through my college years. Doing a full restoration on it now. I would never dream of selling it 😂

One of my best friends had a 2012 2.5s with leather and had 298,000 miles on it and the car kept going strong, it was never getting any weaker the car kept driving like new, I’m purchasing a 3.5se so I’m confident that it will be just as good maybe even better😊

If I could expand on the P0420 for a moment: I had that code on my 2000 Infiniti i30 for over a year. According to the texts, there is actually 6 separate causes for this code. Well, I discovered the 7th! Long story short, I had one coil pack that was cracked in the middle of the tube. If you look at the specific coil pack for this vehicle, you will see it has a skinny point in the middle. The crack was intermittently leaking spark! This caused a richer exhaust. A rich exhaust is hotter. This registered to the O2 sensors as the exhaust being hotter in front of the catalytic, than behind it, which is the opposite reading that it's looking for. So, it gave me the P0420. But all it was, was a cracked coil pack. It took me a year to figure it out. If your catalytic is really bad, and no longer functioning, then you will see the black stuff start to accumulate on your rear bumper. You've seen cars like this before. I didn't have that, so I knew there was something else going on. I'm glad I waited.

I still have my 2007 Altima. Bought it with 22,000 miles in 2009. 190,000 miles now. I am a 20-year MasterTech with Mercedes-Benz. I drive my cars pretty hard and this car has been great.. every mechanical part on this engine is original. Only thing I replaced was the oil cooler gasket , valve cover gasket, lower oil pan had a hole rusted through it, spark plugs, belt, and motor mounts. I also replaced the crank sensor at 100,000 miles just because. Cvt was replaced at 100,000 under warranty. I knew a guy who worked there and replaced the cvt for me before the warranty ran out. Started getting an almost stalling out affect or erratic idling. There was a vacuum leak on the rubber hose on top of the engine.. It will dry rot and start sucking air. Caused a rough idle. Exhaust will rust out at the front at the flex pipe. But mechanically speaking the car has never left me stranded. Very good car. My 19 kid drives it now. Front wheel bearings replaced, front sway bar links replaced. Rear shocks replaced.

My 2009 hybrid 165,000 miles: Steering lock (a recall, so was free of charge), Oil cooler (40 bucks), Ignition coils ($50 set of 4), upper air intake hose ($30). Running like a champ but probably do some proactive maintenance on the sensors.

I bought my 2012 nissan altima and till this date I've only had to do regular maintenance, one ignition coil and new radiator.

I have a 2012 with 150,000 miles...I haven't had one of these issues...not to say they aren't common. Did need all new wheel bearings, ps pump damaged in -40f weather during Polar vortex, and new CV axles and suspension...otherwise she's a champ...regularly change oil and cvt fluid

I'm the original owner of a 2010 Nissan and I've had her for 11yrs. She just started giving me issue with that dang catalytic converter. Looking into getting her fixed up soon because she's held up so well for me over the years!!

I bought a 2010 Altima SL early 2018. The oil cooler leak was the one thing the garage found during my used car inspection. Lately my car has lost it's get up and go and I smell fuel when I start the engine. This video has helped a lot.

My wife's 2012 2.5S hasn't had any of these problems at 125K. Only routine oil and transmission fluid changes, plus one O2 sensor and the exhaust heat shield for rattling. We do the CVT fluid every 30K miles. Hopefully we can get another 75K miles out of it. It's been a great car so far.

My 09 Audi A4 engine literally blew, so I went with a pretty good conditioned used 2010 Altima 2.5s and I’m quite impressed. It’s obviously not quite Audi on the interior but they did a great job being it’s 11 years old now. Love the car. Black. Heated seats. Bose sound system. Good little car.

Had a 2010 Altima cvt transmission act up. A simple $40 transmission rotation sensor easily accessible made it like new again

I have 2009 Altima 2.5SL w/146,000 miles.The only problem I had was a bad cat conv. Bought one off amazon for $152 and a oxygen sensor for $40. Took me a couple hours to install. Mechanic wanted well over $1000 for parts and labor...screw that.

General speaking...this is why the junkyard has so many Altima’s, this should be very inexpensive vehicle but once all these things goes plus CVT transmission then you’ll end up racking up an extra 3k to replace everything that just went. I love my car but hate it for all the problems that has happened.

I have a 2008 Nissan Altima. I literally just had my catalytic converter replaced. I was so lucky that my check engine light never came on. But, that noise was so loud. Catalytic converter are expensive and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay much for mine.

He is so right my 2012 Nissan Altima S had replaced the air intake hose, MAF Sensor, CVT Transmission 2x & manifold catalytic converter.

I think I got lucky because I own a 2011 Altima (2023 now) and other than regular oil changes, 1 set of tires, 1 set of brake pads and 1 battery, I have never had any issues with the car. I've owned Toyotas and currently own a Toyota Highlander but the Altima gets the most reliable car award from me.

My 2001 Pathfinder had the leaking oil cooler. I bought an o-ring to replace it, but just tried tightening the cooler first. That actually worked and it never leaked again.

My daughter owned a 2011 Nissan Altima that the empty console caught on fire and burned the entire front seat area during the night in our driveway. Nissan corporation's response... "it's is older than 4 years so we are not legally obligated to investigate the cause." Lawyer said I would lose thousands trying to sue them for reimbursement and endangering my daughter's life. I WILL NEVER OWN A NISSAN AGAIN!

Seems to be a high maintenance problematic car. Not reliable dependable transportation! Needing reliable transportation and corresponding about Nissan Altima 3.5 SE Sedan for sale said engine is very good and transmission shifts good and has been serviced saying very good condition 83,000 miles (little below but rounding off). Flustered?!

Yep. 10 years ago, the crank postion sensor on my 2006 Altima went out when I was on the highway. It still drove, but it felt like I ran something over and of course the check engine light came on. I got it to the dealer safely. But Geez.

I had to figure all this out by myself, since I didn't see the video. You got all the common problems very nicely. To bad the dealer doesn't know how to program the BCM.

My old 08 Altima Coupe had a clogged catalytic converter at one point and my gosh that was the worst week ever, couldn’t even go pass 40 mph.

My Altima 2010 has problems with the p0420 and the oil is inside of the sparkplugs. The other big problem was on the transmission, with the valves body.

I got an 08 altima 2.5 with the cvt and i got 250,000k on my car. All these issues just seem to be neglected maintenance issues. I havent had any of those issues what so ever. I change my engine oil every 5k, cvt oil every 50k and engine/oil filter every 15k.

If you cant get into your trunk and your battery is disconnected or dead and your manual release isn't working in the back seat you can pop the hood and look in the top right and see your fuse box and you will see metal terminals on either side have a friend put jumper cables like they're jumping you and you will get power to unlock the trunk. 2009 Nissan Altima hybrid

I had a bad crank position sensor on my Jeep one time. That was quite disconcerting the random stall and refusal to turn back on.

My daughter has a 2012 altima. She went for lunch and in return it wouldn't start. Had it towed home, replaced starter and still the same thing. No check engine light. Not sure where to look next. Thinking it may be a bad ground wire somewhere. But somewhere seems to be a vast place for a carpenter working on a Nissan. 😅

I had the weirdest thing happen in my Altima. Turned on my headlights and lost all electrical power and all of my warning lights flashed then I turned them off and my rpm pegged at 5k without transferring power to the wheels for a good 5-10 seconds. Then it rapidly lost power and wouldn't go past 1.5k rpm or over 5 mph. Turned the car off and disconnected my battery and it went back to normal but I'm scared to drive it again

I have owned two, a 94 and and 02. My 94 was a die hard (kept for 12yrs) and the 02 ( kept for 13yrs)was pretty good. But the models after that...no thanks. Newer models, newer ( major) issues. No more Nissan for me.

I have a 2015 AltimaSL with codes p0420 and p0101 my baby starts and moves so 😢 slow, no acceleration,🛴 🛵 when let off has pedal she jerks hard. We are very sad and need to be fixed. Fellow Nissan Altima owners! Ive been through the steering lock crisis on my 09 Altima 2.5l I’ve done the alternator, fuel pump, battery terminals, but recently I’ve ran into a new problem I’ve not seen before. When we turn on the A/C the car just stalls out, cuts the engine off. Now a few people have said the compressor is bad so I’ve ordered the entire kit and I’m going to tackle that task tomorrow but could that really shut the motor off just by turning the Air Conditioning on?

I got a Nissan altima coupe 2009 with a V6 engine and it has 158000 miles on it. The only problem is that the car consumes too much gas. It shows on the dash 11.9mpg even tho I do not drive aggressively. I don't really know what to do

We have a nissan altima we still have it 2008 it doesn't have that much fuel starvation best mileage and the only problem came is the CVT I HATE THE CVT then we changed it now its smooth😊

I had a 2007 2.5 S that I bought used in 2011 with 36k miles that I drove for four years & 30k miles & wasn't too problematic, but had some issues such as the CVT being replaced around 58k miles under warranty though (thank god), the battery had to be replaced twice, I never left any lights on, the a/c blower motor was replaced & some of the radio buttons would randomly stop working on & off as well as the display fading when it was hot outside.

I cant get rid of a mass air flow issue. Took it the dealer twice and it still has the same issue. Dealer told me that is whats causing my slip indicator light to come on. Anyone have any ideas

Rear shocks replacement the lower mounting bolts have the threads aiming forward and the threads corrode preventing removal. They go through a rubber mount sleeved with a metal tube for the bolt. This is all in an aluminum arm with several connection points. One bolt refused to let loose. I used my air gun until the rubber spun in the aluminum arm. Only then could I remove it after cutting the bolt head off. I drilled the bolt shaft out of the tube. Hammered back in the rubber mount with its steel tube. What a pain but cheaper than replacing the aluminum arm just for a $100 shock

My 2010 Altima has around 320k miles. I'm the second owner, and so far the only thing wrong is the cat. The car rumbles at lower speeds, has an eggy smell, and I suspect fuel economy isn't as good as it could be.

I recently got a check engine light supposedly due to the safety neutral switch. Every time I try to start the car it doesn't crank over so I have to put it in neutral back in park for it to start now if that doesn't work I have to put it in back in neutral to crank over and that's how it starts. So is that the safety neutral switch

I had a Nissan Maxima 2008 . It also had these same problems: Crank sensors , o2 sensors, catalytic converter, fuel pump. Its problem after another not reliable . The only way to solve all issues is get a Toyota.
