The question is phrased very vague, I myself was confused if THAILAND really answered the question. Being articulate with speaking in English doesn’t necessarily mean he nailed it.

They don’t submit to the rules of their own country. Conscription into the military is a RIGHT. Not a DUTY. It should always be a choice and an option not a mandatory course that only promotes war. It works for many first world countries. Thailand should follow suit and that’s what he missed. Thailand will continue to force men into the military because he agreed with it. It was his moment to make a difference and he wasted the opportunity

Does this make him gaining an advantage over others? Even though in this round Thai pageant might not nail the question, in final round I think his answer is the best (as I remember).

Brazil is the most deserving,physically and intellectually

Venezuela's answer is very weak for me. The question is about gender equality, but his answer was only focused on men and women. I think he can win easily if he just picks one issue that related to basic human right for all sex, including LGBTQ+. For Brazil, his answer was in between yes or no. He said it ok if you feel good but concern about crossing the line between cultures. So it is not clear if he answer yes or no for international legal for sex workers

I actually thought Brazil will end up as 1st runner up. His answer was a bit better than venezuela in the final round. If only he managed to wrap it up in the 20 pr 30 sec time frame.

FYI The Thailand version is the legit one. Last year, the Philippine version's winner (Mr India) is just the 1st RU of the Thailand's version's winner (Mr Dom. Rep.) & it's now their 15th year. The one in the Philippines is only their first.

Venezuela's answer is only focus on men and women and left LGBTQ behind. He should aware that the question was about gender equality in 2023, not 10 years ago. Although Thailand answered that he agrees to serve the army, but it actually has a big conflict issue about conscription in Thailand society, so it doesn't mean that everyone agrees with him, but it is acceptable when he explained this as a world issue that is happening all around the world.

Yes, it’s a problem all over the world, which is why his job was to make it not a problem… and how is that done? The contestants have to answer their question by hitting the point first and let the audience use their knowledge for some small details. People should know that the concept of the military is to protect countries and keep peace, not for invading or starting the war like some countries do. I don't like and never join the military, but I know that it is impossible to tell the world to stop having your army and just living. The important issue should be stay strong with the true military concept. Thailand should be free to make a choice for his Q&A. The judgements should come from his explanation, not because his choose the same choice to you. On the other side, Mr Venezuela also only said what it should be, but how? He mentioned that the payment shouldn't depend on sex, it should depend on blah blah blah.... It is true but it is a basic fact that everyone knows, the reasons for many countries to do a different payment rate are more complicated and can't be solved by giving a single simple concept that everyone already knows. However I didn't expect him to go into detail because it was also beyond the question for 30 seconds to answer. But the big problem is the point in the question about "sexual equality"

And yes, you can say military brings peace to its people, however it truly doesn’t. War doesn’t create peace… having a military only promotes war. And that is a fact. No matter how many times you spin the earth on it axis, the military is there to fight an opposition using force and violence. There is nothing peaceful about that. What Kim should’ve said is, “no conscription into the military is a RIGHT because the military does not always constitute peace. In fact, it promotes war. Instead, we should redirect conscriptions into healthcare, politics and education because those are things that uplift our fellow humans and provide humans with the ability to help others instead of going against each other.” A lot can be said in 30 seconds and in those 30 seconds he used it to submit to the rulings of his own country and submit to the concept of war. It’s like you’re teaching kids to learn how to fight against each other instead of save each other… doesn’t make sense.. the only reason he won is because he had conviction in his response and he said what the Thai people wanted to hear. A true winner goes against the rules and fights for change. There was nothing different about his answer. Thailand will continue to force men into the military because he agreed with it. He should’ve gone against it because it has worked for many other countries. In Canada, in the USA, in Great Britain, Australia. These first world countries don’t force men into the military but rather they give them the option and the choice to do so. It depends on how the contestant gives the answer to hit the main idea of question, not audience’s opinion. And Venezuela’s answer is just only the fact to support his topic about payment. The solution is how to make them follow the concept that they already have. So just to say “what it should be” doesn’t mean this is a solution. Again, it is not the problem for me about this issue. It was not enough if he gave the answer to cover only about men and women, it is not in a sense of “Sexual Equality “ anymore. He may be the winner if he gave this answer in 1990s, not 2023.
