Theoretically Hot Rod has been part of transformers series all along sir Edmund says his duty is to protect vivian. Remember all of the transformers movies were is America and Egypt not in England until the last knight. Vivan is older than Sam so hot rod has been around since before Sam character. Just like how bumblebee protected Sam the same is hot rod protected vivian. It was only until transformers last knight that Hot rod could reveal himself by sir Edmund to vivian that she was needed. Yes it would have been cool to see Hot rod in other movies but he would have probably have died.

Idc what anybody say you can't deny the engine note of a Lamborghini. Im glad they had the exhaust loud, clear, and clean sounding in the movie tbh I would have to say it was my favorite part in the movie when Hot Rod transformed into the Centenario
