I am 22 years, just graduated University and have been single for 6 years now and saved.. And there's this guy who is asking for my hand in marriage. I hardly know him, except that he is a widower, and we from different nations. I don't love him nor feel anything towards him. But I almost got trapped in his idea bcoz I felt sorry for him. Your story is vary similar to mine that recently happened to me. I'm 21 and single and this guy from Algeria contacted me online and tried to get me to marry him! I barely knew him and he didn't know me well enough to make that decision and it became very clear that he had an agenda when I talked about it to my parents. He was an expert manipulator to try to get what he wanted by making me feel sorry for him with his "sob story" of how his poor "situation" was and all that. He even got me to send him money because I felt sorry for him. I later found out he was lying about "needing" money for college stuff and it was all just so he could play on my emotions and get me to "like" him. (I'm a very caring person who likes to help those in need) Needles to say I got out of that situation before anything really bad could happen and I would have been very hurt if I didn't get out. I've heard of these guys who are looking for young woman to marry them so they can move to the USA to gain citizenship in the US. The sad thing is that they later dump (or even abuse in some cases) their new "wife" soon afterwards because they never really "loved" you in the first place. Sad but true.

Dang after watching this, I know that I’m ready to marry my partner. I guess I’m just scared of being tied down. I’m a free spirit and love moving and traveling around the world. After getting married I’ll have to consider my husbands goals/dreams before packing up and moving across the world. But I know no other person means more than him. 1. You must have total, responsible physical, emotional and sexual control. A woman that can seduce you is a nightmare on elm street. You are a nightmare on elm street if you have seduced her. 2. You must have dignity ( the common sense to make a living and take care of all the financial aspects of being a self sufficient adult). This means having a good job, or preferably your own small, growing and thriving business. 3. You must love what you know is intuitively and morally right in your heart, live from it, and defend it at all costs. A man that does not put what is right first above everything and EVERYONE else is useless to everyone they are in contact with. 4.You must have already built your own nest and are prepared to share it with a family. 5. You must want to have a family to care for, be patient, kind and strong for because you knew how to love the people in the family you grew up in properly.

I just got engaged and I already took the ring off. I am not emotionally connected to him. I closed off when he hold my hands or when I kissed him on the lips. Am petrified of the physical part of our marriage. Am not yearning for no body. I was married before and I had the same fears I went through with the wedding and was miserable for the 6 yrs it lasted. He is a great guy. He believes he loves me and will be a great lover and husband, a great father to my daughter. yet I know am going to either hurt him or be miserable trying to make him happy.

People that say they arent ready will sometimes be together forever, some people that say they have no doubts about their relationship will eventually break up. This is a high level assessment tool, and it's not even as black and white as "if you're not sure dont". It depends why you're not sure! Fear can be a liar, and mean you miss out on something amazing because someone had unfounded fears based on nothing. Sometimes its telling you the truth, and you need to put the brakes on. Trust yourself, own your decisions win or lose.

I am an emotionally unstable person, but my partner knows this and loves me anyways. I'm never really quite when I go through periods of insecurities, depression or mood flips. I always try my best to talk things out even tho Hes not much of a talker. Me and him have a opposites attract type of bond, he is the calm to my fire. But through all my mental problems I fight becuase I see he's worth it, I'm the type of person who loves toxic men, he's the polar opposite. Hes good for me and I am for him, I will always have the swirling thoughts and fears rolling inside of my head but when it boils down to it I will always crack down and get It figured out becuase I know the problem is with myself and even tho he .ca fix it, him just existing beside me is enough.

Rachael L God is always 1st, but I think Rev is alluding to Human beings. Some people while married have to keep running to their sisters or mum. I know someone who is married and she told her husband that her mum is 1st in her life. There is already a problem you see. It could be putting a best friend b4 a spouse.

Good question to ask yourself before getting engaged: is marriage what i want, or is it what's best for my s.o.? These questions in this are good for before you get engaged. Engagement means preparing for marriage because the intent for marriage is already there. Here's another good question: is my love for the other person an emotion, or a decision? The idea of emotional love being a basis for marriage is a foreign concept to marriage. This video leaves out every important factor to consider when considering marriage.

We are the main characters of our own lives, and our relationship to ourselves is of course the most inportant. That means we should love ourselves first, because other relationships are not going to fix our unhappiness or lack of love within us. None of that means being selfish. In relationship/marriage 2 people should work together as a team, and if we feel like we are more interested in our own good than the other person's, then we don't understand what marriage means - and definitely should not get into it. Ultimately marriage is spiritual practice, in which both individuals should strive to learn from each other and grown into better people, together.

I don't want to get marry because if I die soon after my child born then I feel I'm doing injustice to my kids. And, in my view marriage without kids is not a marriage in a real sense...And I don't know I may change my mind and thoughts after this comment..But for now, this is what I feel...
