I learned how to tuck proper on my road bike. I'm grateful for the foundation fixed gear riding has given to me. But I'm afraid this fix gear relationship has come to an end. So much fun, and so much energy conservation. I'll still check in on you from time to time.

I have a cyclo cross bike, I never do cyclo cross, but it works really well for me for everything else I do. I also have a single speed that I love too. It's all good!

I have ridden track bikes on the streets since 1975. First it was winter and spring training for the road racing season. But it is absolutely my favorite ride even now.

Hey Zach, what do you think of Decathlon Elops 500 single speed bycicle ? I've mounted 700x35 Michelin Power Gravel, 780 mm riser handlebar, alloy pedals, last summer the max distance I've rided in one day was 90 kms on white roads and paths, it seems great but I'm a newbie and I would like to know what the "expert" think about this bycicle... (have a nice rides !)

Im riding a 3 speed hub system. (1940s Raleigh) and it does have a few draw backs. The weight is one of them and generally the power transfer is worse and you have to stop pedaling to change gear losing your cadence. However they are low maintenance (unless something goes wrong. One of the springs has gone so the gear slips on second) Just because you have gears doesnt mean you have to yse them anyway

Zach, modern fixie bikes are functionally the same as the first modern bicycle, the 1885 Rover Safety Bicycle. The Rover Safety Bicycles precipitated the "bicycle boom" of the 1890's. All these first generation 1880's /1890's safety bicycles by Rover, Overman, and a multitude of other companies, were fixed gear bikes. I believe the freewheel didn't achieve major commercialization until 1898. I think it would be awesome if you did a historical retrospective on the fixie. Maybe you could find an 1880's / 1890's fixed gear safety bicycle and ride it for 100 miles and then wax poetic on how fixed gear bicycles have changed in the past 130 years and how they've stayed the same. I don't think most people realize that fixie bikes aren't just "old school", they're the originals.

Kilo WT is essentially the Surly Steamroller for half the price, it’s a great bike and more practical than a TT Pro.

$40 My local trek dealer charged me to replace one broken spoke and ‘true’ this wheel. Funny their word choice because I’m fairly certain I could have gotten the wheel loss wobbly myself.

koko.meeko I’ve had a set of Factory 5 for the last year and have yet to have any issues with tension or true. They’re a great budget set of wheels. Also, most shops only charge up to $20 to bring up tension side to side. My shop only charges $18 per wheel. Also, I even had these set up tubeless for riding gravel even when they aren’t spec’d for it and had zero problems. The wheels are now on my girlfriends bike and look and function perfectly! If price is an issue and you need a sub $200 wheel set you should absolutely get them.

I’m not sure that lists of “best” bikes (whatever that means) is appropriate when a channel is sponsored. It is hard to imagine that you can be unbiased. Wabis are #1 and 2? It’s just not a good look.

Whether Zach is right or wrong is irrelevant (and I am in no position to know). The point is that the channel is sponsored. The appearance of bias is unavoidable. Zach’s enthusiasm for fixed gear is great. He can bring a lot to the table in reviewing all sorts of fixed gear products. In my opinion (which means little), credibility suffers when he constantly touts Wabi stuff. I think he is better than that.

@Bebosaab in addition he suggests/invites people to watch his presponsorship reviews of Wabi. Everyone has something they love and want to either talk about or promote. I guess that’s why we watch Zach’s videos and nothing from the guys who are all bent about Zach’s affinity for Wabi. I don’t have a Wabi....yet! The yellow special is a thing of beauty. Hoping to be able to still get one from Curtis when finances are right.

I rode my almost 20 miles to this music event to save money on carfare this weekend . And all i can say is this. I'm glad i have a 21 speed to climb certain steep hills in Manhattan. Cause when i got back home.. My thighs were sore, and it would have been worse if i had a fixed gear.

I think a nice steel bike would be a kilo tt pro 😂 because I got one and as for a wheelset I use my sun cr18 I'm not racing and gear ratio questions I think ride what's comfortable I got 44:17 on one of my bikes and 46:18 on my other rides what's comfortable and who cares what people think

Year-round fixie rider in Minnesota since the first Nixon administration. Seen some pretty epic cold, and the grimmest snowstorms. No brag, just fact. Auto traffic is your main enemy. After that, since you are going somewhere, traction is key. Going, and stopping. Kill bicycle thieves, wherever you find them. Painfully. Remorselessly. Pour encourager les autres. The traction "cockpit" is about feeling it: your gyroscope s/b alert on all planes of motion. Practice this: to. be. reasonably dangerous. Ukemi.

And dude, you said “dog” not “but” in Spanish. Rule is if the word begins with or has a double ‘r’ than you roll it. If the ‘r’ is a single ‘r’ in the word, I.e. pero, it has a ‘d’ sound in English. “Perro” has a rolled ‘r’ sound. The ‘d’ sound in Spanish is a ‘th’ sound in Spanish. I.e. dedo which is pronounced like “de-tho.” Hope you don’t take offense to this, just some helpful tips on hablando en Españsol.

Probably not a good idea to be sponsored by a bike company it taints everything you do. You failed to mention the factory 5 wheels are DT Swiss wheels labeled Factory 5. Also no mention of any Cinelli? Or columbus Tubed bikes? Not very professional.
