Great video. I guess cycling in a different country would be different than cycling in America. Because over here in England, when it comes to road rage, if the cyclist raises his hand to say sorry (even if it’s not their fault), drivers calm down and it de-escalates the situation. I listen to music but that’s what I have mirrors for. To see behind me. It’s not blaring in my ears. I need to be able to hear a fast moving emergency vehicle behind me. But music helps. If you can drive a vehicle and listen to music then why can’t you do the same on a bike?

'matured' is subjective. I put stickers on my bike to make it look like garbage because who cares about appearance? I want a thief to look at my bike and say ew, next!

Hold fasts are great used the same pair for 6 years, they've scraped the ground, been through all weather. They still look fresh, the purple dye is completely unworn. Bring the clips as close to the pedal as possible and they don't flop, in fact mine have stiffened a bit over time so they just retain their shape. When I bought them for 70 bucks I thought the price was insane but they're the only accessory I've never changed through two frames. Love em.

Built a number of this exact model of bike when I was assembling for Walmart. I'm surprised (but also not) that the build quality out of the box has not changed. Definitely entry level in every respect. We had a run of them with bearing issues, had to pop open every headset for about a month and swap out any that were grinding on the workstand. Fun stuff. Kent bikes are just.... no. No go.

No flats in two years, about 2k miles. Great grip, low rolling resistance. An amazing tire BUT the sidewalls are paper. First year, my rear had threads sticking out of the sides and getting swolen in said area. Changed it. This year, just last night, I noticed a half inch cut on my front, the grip area fine, the sidewall side of the cut revealing threads. I think I'm switching brands now. Too expensive to buy the "best".

Hubs and wheels in my opinion, are the most important part of by bike build. A good wheelset can completely change your bike.

honestly, i don't trust anyone who can't give me bike advice without being condescending and rude. Had one of my LBS's tell me my fit was wrong (which was odd to me because my bike fit me like a dream, especially after searching for an affordable 'XXL' build for YEARS), but two mechanics worked on my bike, and one or the other messed with my fit without informing them and i guess they presumed i was riding with the wrong fit, so they readjusted my bike to some preconceived notion of what my fit should be without even bothering to fit me , and after a week my shoulder blades and quads are messed up. Once I realized the issue on my weekend ride, i adjusted my fit and have decided to trust my gut as well the other shop i like more. They are more blunt, and not condescending which is wholly my language.

Just got a set of the same satin matte silver velocity A23 this year, I have to agree. These are far better than the overrated H+S archetypes I was riding before. And they’re made in the USA for the same price as the china made H+S and even a little lighter weight. They are hands down great wheels.

I recently starting using the glasses mirror, game changer for safety. I thought it was dumb but I can pull over if I see a car or big semi truck without turning my head. I tried the handlebar mirrors but it's hard to see. Highly recommend the mirror.

The Leader Volare is a great steel frame to buy for the price. You can build it as you like. From tricking to biking. You can that and save enough money for some B43 wheels.

We did a cost to own modeling project in a College class. If you were to go solely off of costs an electric vehicle makes more sense. But those what have been driving enough will know that’s not usually the case. Depreciation is the one expense I deem a Fugazi because you already expensed that cost at purchase. Only if and when you sell the vehicle can the true depreciation be calculated. The traditional accounting deprivation method is only useful for tax purposes (for the most part). I do all of my maintenance myself, which is what forced me to do the same on my bike. It would have been ridiculous to service my own vehicles while taking my bike to a shop. But it’s definitely much more expensive to own a car than most people realize.
