idfk why Raum is an offtank. I normally run this loadout: 5 Abhorrent Vista 5 Shattered Essence 3 Tormented Fissure 1 Abyssal Connections 1 Void Lord basically i just stay on point (getting a LOT of souls from point-cappers since they're nearby) and almost be unkillable? just a while ago I had a ranked match (solely to complete the trials challenges), i just wanted to win, so I run my usual loadout with subservience. but this guy asks me to play more on offtank when I barely ever played flanks. I try, and I fucking die. I'm just more comfortable playing on tank with this loadout. In comparison, I've had a siege match where I fight off fernando and Azaan that lasted an entire 30 minutes because I lasted so long as an On-Point-Tank. Even had 1K objective time. in casual, but still. Point is, I managed to do good as an on-tank. I hate people who call Raum Offtank now. if anything, being on flank routes mean you get less souls = less survivability. Isn't Raum's main purpose to deal a lot of damage and soak up a lot using those souls he just got? Flankers have a lot of mobility, and if anything causes you to get few souls.

@@VinTJ I haven't seen a Raum win a game as a point tank in a very long time. He's fairly easy to shutdown with CC. As long as you grind down his soul armor faster than he can replenish it (smart shield/cover usage with stuns to delay using the ability a bit) you'll kill him since the heal is useless. Also, why the 100 hp shield? That gets destroyed instantly, and doesn't clear any caut or anything. Doesn't seem to even work as a filler.

@@VinTJ TDM is different entirely. Pretty much any discussion of what the meta is focuses on siege specifically. Point tanks aren't needed in TDM, off tanks actually work better there.

I reeeeeeeeeeeally hate that only one character has a de fakto Undo button. Ruckus main, so seeing my ult Ctrl-Z'd is bloody awful

I think Raum is a bit overrated. He stomps on lower elos because he's easy to play and needs counters, but in higher elos it's very difficult to perform with him since he can't get out of caut easily and can be focused down easily by an organized team. He's like ruckus without mobility but more of a bullet sponge. Better on low elos, worse in higher. I personally believe Ash is a better off tank and can slot into 5th, moving up makoa and Ruckus

As a Raum main I honestly can’t think of a single time I’ve ever had any issue with Tiberius. In fact just being a off tank player in general, I’ve always found Tiberius to be one of the easiest flanks to shut down.

@@hazardous8301 I suppose you meant damage champs. But honestly, it think it kinda depends. I remember I also had Jenos in my team, and he kept to shut down raum's F and then I bursted him with Combat Trance. So it could've just been Void Grip's fault.

It has a lot of irrelevant points just to make the champions sound cool. Not what is actually useful from an effectiveness and balance perspective.

He's the best point tank in the game bro, especially with the reworked Aegis.

Ruckus is very high skill cap because of his mobility. If you learn to use it well, he can be the best off tank. If not, you see ruckus feed all day every day

Solo tank Atlas only really works if you off tank unless your team is really good.

@@ioannismavrogiannis151 Atlas shield has a long cooldown, he has hard time surviving the burst put on the point, but most and formost why atlas wouldnt work as a pointtank is with his abilities on cooldown atlas is just... Dead instantly

@@ioannismavrogiannis151 Fernando has a no cooldown shield with more heal on the shield with right loadout, whilst Atlas shield is temporary and has an almost 15 second cooldown. You'll understand these things as you play paladins more :D

It works better than if you tried to solo tank with any of the other champions on the list, except Makoa. With chronos 3, he can do a decent enough job, especially when the matches aren't too high-tier or sweaty. But for serious competitive play, best to off tank with him.

Term is one of the best tanks that can do both. I'd say he's very viable off tank especially w his undying talent and the cards that give extra DR and speed for every charge you hold.

Yags ult is one of the worst ults in the game. She is even easier to shut down then Raum, isn’t as tanky, and possesses way less sustain. The only thing she has on Raum is better over all mobility. Not to mention Raum completely shuts her down 1vs1.

Probably none until he gets buffed more. I love torv, I use him all the time, but he is basically a weaker, less mobile version of Khan right now. That being said, I use him with a thanks grandpa and a nullify build and it works really well. Having short cool down on nullify lets me make short work of certain champs.

Honestly, I'd be down to have that as an extra game mode. Why not push the limits

not necessarily, but it could work depending on your and opponents team comp, also keep in mind playing raum as a solo point tank can be very aggravative depending on enemys pick, watch out for cripple.. i would only put 1-4 points in health csard u could also buy veteran, thats preference. im ALSO A RAUM PLAYER .. :D

He works much better as an off tank. He's not actually durable enough to survive on point in most cases. Rewind is finicky to use properly and all it does is heal you so you can get bursted again, his shield lasts 5 seconds, is small or when it's big with temporal divide it has a massive cooldown. His right click is there for CC and doesn't help him survive. He's much more effective being a bully on the flank with his nasty pokes, fantastic control, self healing and clutch shield

It was hard to decide between putting Ash or Raum in the number 3 spot. Khan technically won the number 3 spot on the poll... as well as number 2, and number 1. Raum did not win any of the spots, and neither did Ash, but Raum consistently got about 10-14% of the vote on each of the rankings, while Ash got about 8-10%. Since I already put Ash on the point tanks list, I figured that Raum was simply the better choice here for this list. Especially since, in my personal opinion, Ash is a better point tank than off tank anyways.

Looks like you haven't watched my point tanks tier list, where both Ash and Fernando made it onto the list. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6qSrcuVyNCodKM.html Honestly, Fernando is a really bad off tank compared to the 5 on this list. His dps is garbage (450 dps), and his burst isn't too great either with his other two abilities. Certainly not on the same level as Makoa or Ruckus. Without Aegis, his shield is pretty average, and if you're off tanking with Aegis, then you're very capable of point tanking, and are more fitting on the point tanks list like I mentioned earlier. Ash is another one who's simply better as a point tank. Without Fortress Breaker, her shield is awkward to use, and her dps is the lowest in the front line class at just 444 dps. While she has her burst combo with shoulder bash, shoulder bash is one of the easiest things to counter because of its windup time. Any of the abundant cripples or stuns in the game will shut it down. And while you can definitely off tank and bully people with Fortress Breaker, if that's the case, you're definitely very capable of point tanking, and are more fitting on the point tanks list just like Fernando. Both Fernando and Ash are great tanks, don't get me wrong, but this is not the list for them.

@@AndrewChicken the thing about Nando, it's not about going out and getting kills, it's the absurd amount of space he can make in the off lane (hence him being able to off tank), that just allows his dps to have a much easier time controling the off lane. Nando has a ton of self sustain with the stupid recharge rate of the shield, and that combined with his dash reset when people shoot ur shield and healing 500 hps (at max level) I think it is when below a health threshold makes him extremely hard to kill and able to push hard in the off lane. That's why he still can out do a lot of the off tanks on this list.

@@burni988 Those exact qualities are what make him a fantastic point tank who belongs on my other list, not here. With Aegis, the sustain card, and dash reset, he's excellent at defending point, but can also make space for his team and push up like you've mentioned. And a lot of the off tanks I mentioned on this list can make space and ALSO get kills more effectively than Nando. Makoa, for example, is one of the burstiest tanks in the game, but can also buy some space with his huge dome shield. Atlas's wall can give his team 5 seconds of room to shoot freely while standing behind it, but he can also use his rewind and powerful weapon to secure kills. And obviously, Khan is just great. No argument required. Quite simply, I don't want to have repeat tanks on this second list. Ash and Fernando got their glory and recognition, and now I want to highlight other off tanks here. And even if I were to have repeats, neither of them would make this list anyways. I can see putting Ash if I had to, but DEFINITELY not Fernando.

@@AndrewChicken I get not wanting to put repeat tanks in but I definitely stand by Nando making a top 5 list for being an off tank if it was completely unbiased by not wanting to have repeats and not influenced by the community. It's not about being able to get kills it's about being effective at playing and making space in the off lane and Nando does just that. You're not supposed to be alone as an off tank anyway you're not relying on solo kill power to determine the strength of an off tank but Nando CAN solo kill some squishy targets with time cause he just outsustains them and kills them before they can kill him. Just cause he's probably better and is usually a point tank doesn't mean he's not a seriously strong off tank as well if he had to play that way

@@burni988 the thing is the off tanks in this list can also make space while being able to have good kill potential unlike nando, he simply does too little damage sure he can distract really well with great sustain but most off tanks in the list have great sustain too nando might have more sustain but he does a lot less dmg than the off tanks in the list while both off tanks in the list and nando giving a lot of space nando is simply way more valuable as a point tank than an off tank

HOWEVER shes way better as a point tank

As I said in the video, this is with Storm of Bullets. At base, 190/.26 = 730 dps. With Storm of Bullets, (190*.75)/(.26*.6) = 913 (rounded down). The .75 application comes from the 25% reduced damage, and the .6 application comes from the 40% faster fire rate.
