If you're scared get a night light. If you're still scared buy a dog. If those don't work apply a massive amount of penetration sealer every morning and check for seepage every couple of hours. Do this indefinitely or until you grow a pair, whichever comes first I kid I kid, I'm scared too 😞

I have a balcony that doubles as the roof of a car port. Unfortunately, it drips a white substance onto my car? Is this from the galvanized aluminum deck, the concrete bed, the thin set used to install the rough granite tiles, or something else altogether? Effectively, I need to know how much to rip out and what to do differently when I reinstall. This video was very helpful to get a sense of how it’s supposed to be done. Thank you.

We bought a new home, with have a covered porch or balcony about 16X16 and the tile was not done correctly so water sits against the wall. I told the builder they need to either put in a linear drain or fix the pitch. If they pull up the tile will they be able to put something down to fix the pitch of the floor and tile so it drains out toward the front of the house instead of the wall.

I had a estimator come out from Lowes for an outside covered by an overhang - front porch and a screened in porch. Both are a concrete surfaces. The estimator said that Lowes most likely won't install it (by a private contractor) because they can't guarantee the installation because of the elements. I live in Zone 8 and it's hot and humid most of the year and have some cold weeks in the winter that might reach in the mid or low 20's. That cold weather is short lived though. Now i'm on the hunt for a reputable contractor that can install the ceramic tile to hold up outside. If it's too expensive, I'll just do a colored stamped cement surface instead. Any ideas?

I wish I found this video before I had my balcony floor tiled. I used porcelain tiles which are great quality. I had a contractor that was referred by my neighbor who has a ground floor balcony tiled. I thought it was good to have him do it. Wrong. Within a year I noticed cracked on the grout. Now more than a year later since the contractor would not come to even take a look at my the crack, I found some tiles after heavy rain would have bubbles raised up from the cracks. I wish I knew and thought about my situation is different from my neighbor to begin with. If I were you, I would only do those tiles projects like yours with good referral that has exactly the same situations like your. Good luck!

@@0617kitty I had a contractor come out that has a tech use a concrete saw and actually cut grooves into the existing surface like long hardwood floor boards would look like. He actually paints the concrete to look like whatever wood grain you choose. He then puts a couple sealers on top of that for durability, weather and wear. I might have to reseal it again in 5-6 years br=because it's outside but it sure was a relief to hear this type work was possible. His price was comparable to the Big Box stores that were going to lay the tile after all.

Do not ceramic tiles outside since they absorb water and will crack over time. Porcelain tiles are the way to go if your installing tiles outside and only tiles that should be used outside because they are impervious. Hope this helps.

Very informative video, thankyou! I wonder if it's best to place exterior wall tile over finer cement sheet or brick veneer in regards to movement? I have a renovation project but not sure if I should just remove the brick and sheet it all up first... ? Thanks!

Thanks for this informational vid! Curious, off you had a client who wanted to cover the "shot-crete" exterior of their geodesic dome home in mosaic tile with the idea to harvest rain water for both household and garden use, what approach / tile-type and sealant might you suggest? Thanks!
