Sounds like you have everything you need now. Did you get a vise?

Each club is a little different but for the most part the bottom bore to ground measurement is pretty similar whether it's a bonded hosel or adjustable. With few exceptions I tip shafts independent of what type of hosel is used.

I don't know of a video but I think it would be pretty simple for someone mechanically inclined to fake a turning arm. Just a small shelf or stand that allows the ferrule / hosel to just make contact with the belt. The main trick would just be getting it lined up correctly in relation to the belt.

I know. It would be in that 6-10 list for sure. In the end I just felt it's a bit too one dimensional compared to the other tools. But if saving graphite shafts is the task at hand then, yes it's needed.

@@EFGMC I just noticed your comment here after typing the entry above. So you do address the minimal tools needed for removing (for re-use) a graphite shaft.

It's a gate strap hinge epoxied to the base of a 48 inch ruler. Takes the lie angle into account for accurate measurements. Total cost was about $14 for everything.

2 or maybe 3 degrees is about the most I would do before things get weird.

That is from Golfworks. Came with everything you pictured except the vacuum hose and fitting.

Going lighter usually means drilling out the hosel. Use a drill bit smaller than .350 and drill down to remove a few grams of weight. I personally don't have issues with keeping the SW a little heavier as it give better feel vs extra light heads. The length and shaft weight will mitigate a good deal of the head weight so if you can drill out 4-6g you should be good.

@@aaronwessner 60 degrees is the USGA specified, though I usually just adjust it to touch right in the center of the club sole I am measuring. Only time you would really care about the 60 would be if you were building a 48 inch driver and wanted to make sure it was conforming for tournament play.

Not when done right. Keep it moving, don"t overheat.

If you are wanting to ream the hosels from .355 to .370, you should get the reamers, unless you have a drill press and a jig to hold the irons square.

That is home made using the standard 48in with a gate strap hinge attached to one end so it can bend up to 90 degrees and anywhere down from there.

Sometimes the screw weights in any club just won't come loose. My only other suggestion would be to heat it, then use a mallet or hammer on the wrench handle to see if that sudden impact will break it loose. Will probably need to secure the head itself in the vise for this. I sometimes have to use a rubber or polymer mallet when dealing with some old epoxy iron jobs. If that doesn't work, it will probably need to go back to Scotty unless you want to pull the shaft and install some tip weighting. Could also use tungsten powder, but personally hate the feel you get from it.

@@EFGMC thanks for your detailed response. I’ll pass on the Tungsten weight down the shaft. I have bought 2 sets of aftermarket SC weights off of eBay. 25 and 30 gram each. I’ll have 2ndSwing do it next month. Different topic but I figured I’d ask you. Have you looked into the Axis1 putter that Justin Rose uses ? I watched a KZfaq video of the inventor explaining the design from their homepage and it makes a lot of sense of how the shaft has zero torque and the weight is in line with the path of the stroke. Off center hits have virtually no twisting of the face. Saw their KZfaq on the Quintec testing and it’s amazing. But one has to question the validity because he’s the only touring pro (maybe one other ) that actually uses it. One major reason must be it’s more about $ since they are getting big endorsements from SC and others to play their putters. Small guy like Axis1 can’t even come close to the amount of $ to endorse his putter.

@@stephendibari5010 Don't know what to think about that putter. Like you said, no one really playing it other than Rose so it works for him. You know other guys must have tried it but obviously did not work for them. Putter endorsements I don't think are lucrative enough to keep someone from using it, if it really worked. I use a blade style putter, anything mallet shaped I find too distracting, so everyone is different.

@@EFGMC I hear you. I’ve been using an Evnroll ER2 since March 2017 and it’s been phenomenal. My ARCOSS putting handicap is + 3.2 SG overall and + 2.2 SG from 10-25 feet which clearly shows the variable width grooves really work on longer putts when hitting the sweetspot is at a premium. I custom ordered a TM spider-X late Last year, they always caught my eye and so many PGA players have and are using it. It rolls smooth and it’s not too large. Always tinkering, the Axis1 really intrigues me. I think a lot of reasons it doesn’t catch on is people are turned off by the looks at address and overall. It looks funky and very non conforming/non traditional. Hopefully I’ll give it a try at the pga superstore, they’re a registered seller.

Yeah, I have a bunch of ideas for bending videos and have yet to actually do one. The LL is from Golf Mechanix. The stand I bought used and had been holding a putter bending jig. Modified the base plate a little to accept the LL.

We want to buy new irons, but the fitters around here are either morons (pga superstore), or want u to literally pay through the nose for clubs after their fitting. I want to buy an inexpensive LL machine, (maybe used) so I can set up our new irons, and then tweak them as the season progresses. Can u help me out ??

Depends who you ask and where you are located. If you have a lot of golfers nearby but only bad repair services, it could be an opportunity. What i always say is, you need to be by far the best at what you do in a given market so that people have a reason to seek you out and remain loyalty. The tricky part comes down to overhead (location, inventory, etc.)
