I’m a bit confused by the first example. “Ты давно читала какую-нибудь хорошую книгу?”. It seems like it should be “ты недавно читала….” I’m probably wrong, but it doesn’t seem right to me.

I feel like район is more like region and место is more like area? Also I learned государства for government , that's the word they use in Georgia. Is there a difference? As an American I feel like A country is always страна but when talking about village/country it's деревня

Compliments, Kristina! I have seen that you put several examples with the instrumental case after verbs in the past tense. I find this one of the most difficult uses of the russian language: it doesn't want to enter into my mind. It takes a lot of exercise for practicing the rule without hesitation.

Hey Kristina, I just wanted to say that your брат movie lesson was more than worth the price for me. For a long time I haven't seen any good movies. The last twenty or so that I've watched I didn't like very much. So I had already given up on movies when I bought your movie lesson - just wanted to learn Russian with your high-quality lessons and that was all that I expected. But I was pleasantly surprised to have found that the movie itself is an excellent one. Thanks to it I got a chance to glance at the Russian consciousness of 90s. Also in the movie I found some references to Russian literature that I read: Sveta partly to Tanya in Eugene Onegin and the ending scene strongly to the ending scene of Dead Souls Part 1.

Thanks for your feedback! I´m so glad to hear that you liked the movie and the course. Брат is one of the most famous Russian movies but it´s definitely not for everyone. In fact, I received more than a couple emails from my students telling me that they were not going to enroll in the course just because they already watched the movie and didn´t like / it was too violent / it had too much slang / they wanted something family-friendly / the movie was too old. They had a point but I think that anyone interested in Russian culture and history should watch Брат at least once. Glad you enjoyed it!

It is my favorite movie now. When people used to ask me what is my favorite movie I always hesitated cuz nothing truly impressed me, but now I can say without delay that it's брат. If the sequel is as good as the first one please do make the movie lessons of it too in the near future! I beg you

I like how the words are simple but the examples are really complex and require a higher level of understanding which, if you had, you wouldn't need to learn these words. Please make simpler examples

У меня дом в Сайконге. Это бедный район Хонг Конга. Состояние здесь ужасное. Я проведу день и ночь и неделю и месяц и год изучая русский. В следующем году я собираюсь поехать в Москву, где полон чудес и загадок.
