I think it was a mix of the entire play leading up to it, the initial attempted save with the glove, then the last ditch effort to get those legs up and somehow get a piece of it

I could honestly flip the top 2, and be happy either way. I was hoping Vasilevskiy would be there, but that scorpion save by Rantta(I think that's how it's spelled) was awesome!

i mean in that case alot of saves are unessesary, all it requires is to be in right possition at all times... but it was only 10th so... dont complain

I think Rask save should be 2. Just my opinion but looking at what he did was insane. There’s no padding on the hand side of the blocker and he didn’t have a whole glove to catch it. Just his hand. Amazing save

NHL still underrates Markstrom, he’s been good for us for 2 seasons already saved the canucks asses multiple times too.

The scoring efforts weren't that good, for example last attempt was going to center of the net not in the corners, which made saving them easier.

I feel like if any other goalie in the entirety of the NHL made the save that Fleury made it wouldn't be publicised nearly as much. Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic save, but it's only number 1 because its Fleury (my opinion)

Domski For sure! The best thing you can do is practice flexibility when you can, and respect the boundaries of movement of the human body. Proper positioning can keep you from having to make a desperation save. But, you have to do what you have to do!

So many act like Reimer is the worst goalie ever but if you look at his save percentage he's never been under .900 over a season. Definitely not nearly as bad as people think.

It is definitely the best of the year. After that game was over, Mike Babcock lost his job. Fleury saved the game and killed the coach.

I don’t get how Fleury’s Meme save is #1, literally just memorable for the memes, there were way more impressive and athletic saves earlier in the countdown. I feel like it was picked because of the memes rather than the merit of the save. By no means is it not impressive but #1 of the year?
