Babcock should've been banned from the NHL. What he did to a legend (modano)messing with his stat milestone is sickening. Reminds me of when Mike yeo stole the light from Yandles candle when he benched him taking his record iron man streak, when he was a few games away from retiring. I'm glad Hayes put his 2 cents in during post game. Yeo is a joke and isn't suitable enough to coach peewees

Babcock is a psycho and indeed never should have been allowed anywhere near an NHL coaching position! Don’t know what the Jackets were thinking but at least they bounced him before the season started and likely prevented a lot of damage to the players there!

You can't compare Yeo to Babcock. Sure Yeo benched a guy who was playing the worst hockey of his career on a terrible team. Without that record being in play Yandle & his -47 gets benched way sooner. Management wanted Yandle benched. I liked Yandle but it was over. He doesn't even have the record anymore. Modano lost his 1500 game, Spezza lost his first chance to play the Senators, all the Leafs found out what Marner thought of there game, the list goes on and on for Babcock. Yeo is a clown & a dreadful Head Coach. Babcock is a World Class a$$hole who makes Mike Keenan seem like a players coach.

@@oddity4all2see by torts you mean Tortorella I guess right? Fair enough. Though lots of guys really liked playing for Tortorella, some did not. Some players have even sought him out as free agents to play for him again, also guys have begged to get away from him. Anyway, Tortorella is a grouchy hard man who asks guys to play a certain way and give it your all. If you do he's the type of guy who helps you hide the body.

Lets be real though, if you're on the ice in the NHL and in position to make those plays, you're doing something great anyway. His own players may have prioritized giving him assists over taking their own shots but he looked very good out there and played at the caliber you would expect of someone in the All Star game. No need to diminish the guys accomplishment.

Nah, he only scored 2 goals, not the full hat trick. If you google 2016 NHL all star game it shows all three games that were played - Metro vs Atlantic, Pacific vs Central (John Scott scored 2 goals in the 9-6 Pacific Division victory) and Pacific vs Atlantic (1-0 Pacific Division victory with Corey Perry getting the goal)

I remember the open poll, and I knew that the same time internet would not disappoint with the ASG voting. The cherry of the cake, being, the Oilers voting Scott, over Hall. The 2010's (pre-McDavid) were a strange time for the Oilers.

9:50 in the future its very important that you finish things like this. The fact the charges were dropped because THE MAN HE ASSAULTED, WHO WAS ALSO THE RIVAL HEAD COACH, ASKED FOR THEM TO BE. That's a massive thing to include and one of those interesting points worth talking about far more than just "oh he got into a bar fight"

Babcock was to blame for the Red Wings losing to the Penguins in the 2009 Stanley Cup by over playing star players. This is well known in Detroit and has been confirmed by many former Red Wings on that team.

Marty McSorley (1983-2001) must arguably be THE biggest congusion careers in NHL history. Penguins, Oilers, Kings, Rangers, Sharks, Bruins etc. McSorley was an enforcer player who was most known for being "Wayne Gretzky's bodyguard", but he was also proven to become a steady player to have on both offense & defense as his work ethic, team play, and his articulate intelligence off the ice further helped his team(s). So much that he won the prestigue "1991 NHL Plus-Minus Award", an award a player of his role/nature should not been possible to win (!). Or adding he became an actor who was in big Hollywood movies like; Bad Boys (1995), Forget Paris (1995), Con Air (1997) & Do Me A Favor (1997).

Though McSorley is better known for his savage attack on fellow enforcer, Donald Brashear, and his infamous "illegal stick" infraction that, a la the famous 'too many men' penalty in 1979, allowed the Montreal Canadiens to tie a Stanley Cup finals game in the final minute.

Yeah, that's not how people with this sort of personality work. He cares, he's got tons of narratives in his mind about how everyone is out to get him, how he did everything right, how "boys are too soft these days" and that sort of shit. If someone goes this crazy when given a little bit of power, you can be pretty sure power is the drug of choice for them.

How so? They're both left wingers and were the cherrypicker on the first and second lines. They played the same defense-light style for sure, but they werent on the ice at the same time. Typically Ovi played with Laich and Clark as far as I can remember, but it has been almost 20 years.
