@@MagnokTheMighty I did in fact mention this. However, I believe it was originally just him and (ben?) Filming larry telling stories on the couch. His channel exploded in popularity and they jumped on it hard and fast to take advantage. Making content and finding ways to generate revenue. I remember that i loved it because it reminded me of a guy I used to hang out with who had a criminal past, and like larry was an amazing story teller with quite a life. I miss that dude. Rip.

I agree. I start watching guys telling their stories but most of them , I get tired of them trying to prove how much of a bad ass they are. Larry isn't like that. He just tells it and I m sure it's helped all that are headed towards pulling their time. Larry doesn't brag or yell and try to prove how much of a bad ass he is. I totally agree with his feelings concerning inmates or anyone that abuses women and especially children. I have zero tolerance towards child abuse or molesting and they get exactly what they deserve. I was blessed with two children, a son and daughter and both enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with me. I took my daughter fishing while still in diapers. We went to the outer banks for a week long camping trip and I changed her never once seeing her as anything but a blessing from God. How a child can be seen as sexual is beyond me and anyone that gets turned on by a child especially when a father sees his children and is sexually aroused is sickening to me. People like this are sick and maybe they need and deserve help , I dont know for sure about this subject but if anyone had tried to or did do anything to abuse my children they would have a bad day. I have zero , 0 tolerance on this matter and will always. Thank you Larry for sharing your stories and helping those preparing to start a prison sentence. God bless all and the USA.

We had a few 'good' guards where I was. It was just a job to them. Nothing personal. You treat them with respect, and they'll treat you the same. Anyway, I worked in the commissary the last year & 1/2 in and one of the 'good ones' (around Christmas both times) brought in a big bag of Mcdonald's biscuits of various types and said "Dam Mickey Ds messed my order up and gave me too many. Ya'll go in the back and throw those away". For a few minutes we were just a bunch of guys having breakfast. It was a gesture that I'll never forget.

I'm retired from the BOP. I seen a Cuban detainee take 3 cans of mace and 2 bean bag rounds. He never went to his knees, just stood there and said is that all you got? He also had about a 14 inch shank. He weighed about 135 lbs. and was one of the toughest dudes ever. As a CO I would rather deal with someone who had a long sentence than a short timer. I sent less than 7 guys to SHU during my career and then it was over extreme disrespect. Otherwise I handled it differently. Due to the way I carried myself I rarely had issues. I ran into an ex convict a few months ago and he shook my hand and said you treated us like people!

Depending on the level of "Reality" in this reality TV, the producers may have very well cherry-picked prisoners and guards and asked them to "make drama" for the cameras. At the least, it's a helluva way to break routine.

Im happy for this guy. He obviously spent a good part of his life in prison and probably has a record that would keep most people from ever being able to find good employment or housing. But he’s taking a bad life experience and turning it into what is likely a good living for himself instead of doing what a lot of former “convicts” do and returning to what got them in the mess to start with. Bravo Larry Lawton. I’m impressed.

In a county jail I saw a guy bang his door open after the guard left the unit at night and then run up and down the tier with a t-shirt on his head yelling "tee-pee for my bunghole" like Beavis. Something was wrong with the locking mechanism that made it possible to be kicked open. Even though the kid was just clowning around he could've been charged with attempted escape and got mandatory 5 yrs added to whatever sentence he was facing.

We had TV's in the dorm-style block I was in (SCI Mercer). The inmates could buy their own tv, but the block itself actually had a few TV's mounted around the beds as well. Btw I only stayed on that block a month, and in my opinion it was one of my least favorite housing units. I've never seen so many petty individuals, so much ridiculous drama and disrespect, and most of all so many idiots who thought they were tough when in actuality they were no threat whatsoever. 3 days in, I put in for a transfer to a different block, and I was out of there in a month (new unit was a standard cell, but with a wooden door that we had a key to exit/enter...still surprises me)

I worked at a state prison for 24 years. I saw a inmate trying to kill another. I pepper sprayed him and he continued stabbing with eyes shut. Someone else grabbed him and the knife while I handcuffed him. On another occasion , on the evening shift there was a massive gang fight. At least 5 cans of CS gas cans were fired and many cans of pepper spray were used. I wasn’t there for that one ( I was on day shift). A officer reported that he witnessed a inmate swinging a knife wildly with blood shooting out his chest. When this same inmate was taken to the hospital, the ER doctors called the stab wound ‘ a quarter size’. This guy wouldn’t stop trying to kill rival gang members with a quarter size hole in his chest. Most inmates were regular people who made mistakes in life. I doubt if they were singing too loud in church choir practice but most weren’t the problem children. I would single out the problem cases and start playing forgetting to open their door for rec yard time. If someone is thinking about working at a prison; I’m not trying to scare you but you will see things that will stay with you. You won’t forget about it. 99% of your day is a boring routine and once in a while a accident happens ( yes inmates have accidents and medical emergencies) . I was the medical department Sargent and a inmate was rushed to medical DOA from a heart attack. Natural causes is the #1 cause of death followed by accidents, suicide then homicide. Homicide is #4. That should tell you something. That is my home state.

When I was in basic training, we had a couple people that were immune to tear gas. So, it wouldn't surprise me if that inmate had a very high tolerance

Dogs and horses are immune to teargas. Wouldn't put it past some humans having a simmilar mutation.

at Lewisburg camp in PA they do put people in the hole, they just put you in the hole in the USP right up the hill. if the shot brings your points up enough, they keep you in the hole and then ship you off usually to Allenwood

did a year and a half in 22hour lockdown, there was a really awesome CO that was assigned to our unit, he was almost like an insider with kitchen because he would bring the cleaner extras like crazy to distribute, and the cleaner was solid AF and anyone that wasn't a goof ate like kings, anyhoo, one day we got a transfer and he was obviously a problem case, was going wild the night before calling out this CO as he was brought in threatening but the CO was used to it, and he could Definitely handle himself, but we all knew this guy was going to be trouble, it was a quiet unit, everyone was pretty hard and solid and the goofs were confined to their own area down range, and if they stepped out or looked wrong they got it bad, so the guy's celly told him to settle down, and he was like Nah i'm gonna take that CO out, and he was like nah, you keep it up and you are going down range, I don't think he knew exactly what he meant by that in out unit lol, maybe just that it was gonna get him beat, but at that he was like yeh, yeh, we'll see. and then it was lights out, next day we were being called out for our morning hour yard, and i seen the guy pack a pencil in his pocket on his way out of his cell, i noted it to the cleaner that something was gonna happen inside with the new fish, so we started following behind closer (if a guy was packing for yard it was usually put in the shoe so it passes the metal detector) and sure enough as he was taking his turn through the detector, with that CO standing there and a female guard keeping door guard he leapt at him with the pencil and repeatedly stabbed at him, the cleaner and I didn't even have to react, the entire line of CONs ran at the CO, ripped the new guy off, and beat the shit out of the new guy for doing it. The guard was stabbed 3 times in the arm and 1 in the face, but nothing serious, had he been a bad CO, he would have died that day, but he was a stand up guy that respected humanity even though the ones there made bad choices. Besides giving food, he would keep the Unit's radios on after lights out if we wanted, little things, He thanked the whole Unit with 2hours extra yard time the next 10 days (all they would allow him to give us lol)... so whatever side you are on in jail,.. or out of jail,.. the #1 rule is respect until you are disrespected, and don't mess with people that you are not familiar with. I Live in Canada, we say sorry to the people we don't know or don't care to know,.. and we rip on the ones we love. We are not nice, just respectful. Hope you and all those that read this have a good one :D

Even the jails around here have tiers of inmates, the building is like a pyramid and the floors get progressively smaller with the general low security being huge at the bottom and the top floor being the worst of the worst with only like 2 cells

I got a family member who’s a correction officer. He said a lot of the mentally ill inmates are the ones that are like wild animals. They are the strongest, it takes a bunch of guys to take them down and even then the inmate is still almost getting back up, or the gas has no affect on them. He said it’s like trying to fight a gorilla with nothing but your fists. It’s like if they have a simpler, more primal brain, then the almost have primal monkey strength too that 5 guys together don’t have.

Yes some dorms you can have TVs some you can’t in my state most dorms allow TVs but they have to be shut off by a certain time at night. There’s a sheet of electronics restrictions by facility on the back of the electronics order form.

I've been exposed to mace before, and it sucks. We had some riots in my city, and I lived where it was going on. The police were shooting cans of it into the streets and it got in the air. That was in the open, I can only imagine how much worse it would be in a confined space like that. I definitely wouldn't want it directly in my face. I don't know that I could handle that. But diluted in the air, I was able to maintain long enough to get inside by keeping my breathing slow and shallow. Walk, don't run, because you'll have to take bigger breaths, and you will regret that choice.

hiya larry hope ur having a nice day mate, on this video the only toughness i seen was wot u said the maze one i think some people think toughness is about 1 guy beating up 3 bigs guys by his self but i have always said toughness strengh been mad ect the person whos strong is in the mind got to be because u can get beat up in there and come back from some cuts and bruishers but been strong in the mind also makes u think better like not too do this and that to piss guards off just try and keep urself calm very very easy said than done though, when i have my mental issues i never hurt anyone or think about anyone else in fact i feel weak wen i am not well but i must be quite string in the mind to keep going threw mental. illness and coming out the other side, anyway larry take care man gr8 videos u do God bless you, 👊👍
