I appreciate your clarification. In the asteroid belt, the vast distances between asteroids render any analogy to a minefield inaccurate. The sparse distribution of asteroids implies that traversing from one to another would be an extensive journey, with the likelihood of perishing before reaching the midpoint to the closest neighboring asteroid.

Me : The fear of an asteroid hitting a planet becomes even scarier when we think about the added worry of human-made explosive weapons. It makes the potential threats more complex and frightening. My mom thinking I'm scared : Imagine if a big space rock could hit our planet, and that's already kind of scary. Now, add the idea that people have made explosive weapons that can be harmful too. It makes the scary things even more complicated and frightening.

If you could move the moon like the death star, could it make it to the sun before it was completed destroyed? What if you could pack the nukes in it's core and shove it off to the sun?
@Vazik05
@Vazik05 4 ай бұрын
No. There's something called the Roche limit. It would be pulled apart before it could enter it's corona, and even a nuke the size of the moon would do absolutely nothing to the sun. It's one giant nuclear bomb going off every single second, it never stops. The whole solar system is only 1% of the suns mass, it could all fall into it at once and do nothing whatsoever and the sun would keep hurdling through space none the wiser.

Considering leaked info from multiple US military personnel sources cite an average yield of current nuclear weapons in the 100-475Mt range (W76 @ 100Mt - W88 @ 475Mt) it seems ridiculous to the point of being ludicrous to have so many nukes in an arsenal. The mentality that bigger is better or more is safer is simply delusional when applied to nuclear weapons. Even if the yield averaged 1Mt, any more than 100 nukes is overkill for any single nation to deter the rest of the world. If 100 x 1Mt were detonated it would cause harmful effects to their own population even if all 100 are detonated on the other side of the planet.
@de-tached
@de-tached 4 ай бұрын
Just to add a cherry on top... I've read an estimated 5 modern yield detonations may be enough to trigger a nuclear autumn which leads to widespread land and aquatic ecosystem damage. (Note this is not ""nuclear winter"" as that is only a hypothesis and not yet grounded by factual evidence.)

7:02 actually most modern nuclear weapons are in the kiloton range not the megaton or Gigaton range so they don’t use Fusion they use Fission there are still a bunch of hydrogen bombs leftover from the 50s-80s but weapons over 3-5 megatons aren’t very practical and 10-50 or even bigger weapons are less practical unless you’re trying to obliterate 1 city and render 1 area uninhabitable for a hundred or so years 10 1 megaton bombs are much more useful and much more practical than 1 10 megaton bomb same thing goes for even larger bombs like the United States 25 megaton Mark 40 that’s been decommissioned for decades now because a bomb like that is too powerful for anything but destroying entire metropolitan areas and 25 1 megaton bombs would do much more damage strategically placed than 1 25 megaton bomb

1:04 that’s not true those were the first atom bombs created and today thanks to that maniac Donald Trump the United States possesses truly low yield atom bombs 1/10 the size of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 1.5-2 kiloton warheads also in the 1980s the United States made a super tiny Atom bomb that was the size of a rugby ball called Davy Crockett. It was fired from a recoil rifle and its yield was 20 tons of TNT not 20 kilotons. It was 1/1000th the size of Nagasaki.
