Hey Mike! Do you have a video on the DoorDash Beta program? And what that IS exactly? It seems impossible to find any information about it. I keep seeing it under promotions and it is asking me to join, but it'd be nice to know what it is before I do. I'd just prefer to know the Pro's/Cons of it before I do. Does it offer me other options to make money? Or is it just for me to test out basically (and possibly less money) things and glitch even MORE then it normally does LOL! Even now (on Android) I have to restart my phone at least once a day, usually twice a day just to complete the order already after a DD app glitch haha. I'd really appreciate your help on this, and Love your videos!! Thank you!!

It’s slowing down for me lol. Once they decided to give me so many crap orders forcing me below 50% acceptance for the first time ever, they no longer give me many orders. I’ve been below 50% for three days and have been averaging one order per hour. It’s almost comical the way they are now operating.

Just started and the first delivery I got I accepted not looking at details. 6 dollar pay for about an 8 mile delivery that went out of my zone AND across a 2 dollar tunnel. @@ThatDanielTv I don't know about DoorDash since I haven't started with them yet, but Uber Eats automatically reimburses tolls. I noticed the first time that it took me on a delivery route where I saw I was entering a toll road, which I normally have disabled for personal navigation in my Google Maps, so I was suprised like oh no, it hadn't warned me about that or anything. But I noticed when going through my earnings details for every order later to fill out my data spreadsheet, it just silently and automatically added the toll fare to my pay for that order

New Dasher... I Made the mistake of dashing on the same day as a large Festival event in my smaller town. The towns mainstreet was literally closed. So made it nearly impossible to drive to those restaurants, no parking anywhere and if restaurant was on on the east side of town and delivery on the west you arent going to deliver very quickly. Be aware of events in your area and how that will effect your dashing.

I had a customer try that address change crap the other day right after I picked up the food. She doubled the miles and wanted to send me in the opposite direction. I wasn't driving 30 miles round trip for $9.75 I called support and they offered me an additional $4. I refused. I took the food hack into the merchant and took the $6.75 half pay.

@@YourDriverMike I couldn't. My shift was going to end and I am not a top dasher. I might have been able to get an uber eats order but I didn't want to drive back in heavy traffic. It was originally 12 miles for $9.75 which was low but it was slow that day. I only took it cause it was 4.5 miles down and 7.5 back so I left home and planned on returning home after I finished. So when she switched the delivery I had no interest in delivering it that far out of the way.

I never had this happen before. The only problem I had was this gal ordered burgers and fries. The address was in the app. Then in the notes she wrote she was at a different number but on that street. I couldn't find the number. I called her no answer. I texted her asking her to please come out and that I can't find the number/house. I waited 8 minutes. No answer. Then I called support they don't me to leave the food at safe place. Couldn't do that cuz then food would go to waste. They told me to just keep it or throw it away. I kept it and gave it to some construction guys. Hopefully they ate it. I got mad at the gal that ordered the food because she just didn't answer. It's like she just ordered the food from her phone....isn't her phone with her??? Oh well. Dashing in Georgia. Most orders a $1 a mile. anything less than a dollar automatic decline or ignore. I’ll try declining to accept better orders and see what happens with my acceptance rate. Low acceptance rate equals less “Dash now” ability. When my acceptance rate is high, I can go do “dash now” at my leisure. Otherwise I see “schedule” on the screen more. I did a "routed order" and it was an unfortunate experience. It was a $30 order for the Hunger Task Force. Thirty drop-offs to shut-ins in a bad part of town. Two hours of work. $3.00 per drop off. It was unfortunate because I went in not knowing what I was getting into. If I had known, it was a charity customer I would have prepared better. But I did it and completed the order.

I rarely decline but on a $4.50 order to go 11 miles I had to put a stop to that. I’ve only got 10 dashes so far but I thought peak pay short trips would be best. Turns out those in my area are all apartments that are really hard to navigate. For 5.5 hours I made $65.50. But most of this is my nerves, trying to make orders perfect and just driving waaaay too far for $6.50. I think a shorter trip from Asian sushi or ramen restaurants pay out the best. And those people tip good!
@Roy_Jenkins_
@Roy_Jenkins_ Жыл бұрын
Word of advice: Dont stress about declining. Acceptance rate really doesn't mean anything. Trust me. They just use it to trick people into taking bad orders. Also, set a minimum pay for what you'll accept. For example, I don't take anything lower than $9 or $10. Also, aim for at LEAST $1 per mile for the order, preferably $2 or more per mile. So a $10 order to go 5 miles is perfect. I get a lot of those. Also try to do it during the lunch/dinner rush and near sit-down restaurants. Fast food places tend to have lower paying orders because people aren't going to tip much for small orders like just a burger and fries from McDonald's lol. Best of luck!

@@Roy_Jenkins_ I used to think that the acceptance rate "doesn't mean nothing" but that really isn't true. While you can't be deactivated for a low acceptance rate, it does mean something. If you run a business with multiple drivers, wouldn't you give better orders to the drivers who help you by accepting more of your orders and giving the rest to whoever is available in the area? The other proof is that if you meet a certain criterion, Doordash will send you a one-time offer to "reset your acceptance rate". It does mean something.

Food pantries use doordash to deliver which is fine if they compensate appropriately because there won’t be a tip. They are usually multiple boxes or bags per person and they always send out in batches. I understand it’s charity but I don’t deliver for free. I just turn it off in the nights a local church does theirs. They want me to take three deliveries of nine boxes for 6.50.

I started recently and so far it has been fun, a lot of mcdonalds deliveries within a few miles for 6-12 bucks each. I like being able to choose my hours and the areas I like and earlier tonight went out and delivered and then went home for a quick break and then went back out because it was busy and it is very easy to do and it is way better than my last job in retail making 11 bucks an hour and having to run a busy store. Also having a hybrid car really helps keep the cost of gas down. Never had someone try to do an address change yet, they have all been leave at the door ring the bell and leave. I also setup my backseat with some sturdy bins and things so when I get another order with four large shakes with openings in the top I don't have to worry about them tipping over at every turn. Have fun out there!

The app sucks. It should be offering to the closest people that are dashing for them and then giving them orders to and from that order and then to and from the first order that gets accepted instead of this one at a time bullshit unless you get offered another order at the same restaurant that you're going to. They clearly don't know what they're doing and or have never delivered anything before. There definitely should be some kind of strategy on their part but from out perspective it doesn't seem that way.

@@YourDriverMike It's been a fight with "premium" Dasher support every time. There seems to be no interest in investigating a technical issue if there is one. The only time in the last 6 months that I got them to approve a change of address was when I had 2 orders for the same customer, from the same restaurant, going to 2 different addresses. Very hard to argue outside the zone when I'm already delivering to that address. I appreciate your reply though, it's good to know this isn't a common doordash practice even if that information doesn't get me anywhere.

I dash on the side but I got one these routed deliveries that came in the other day it’s was $98 for 10 deliveries for Petco. It was gonna be a one stop to pick up all the items and then 80mile drive between all the 10stops I had to go into my actual job and didn’t have the time to take it so I refused it but I have seen one of those come in before.

Does doordash ever update anything? I have been sent to the same restaurant twice that has been closed for years. Also I was sent to a subway recently and it turned out that Doordash had bad address and it led out in the middle of nowhere. I called support and asked them WTF and they connected me to the business to get directions. It was in a walmart several miles away and has been there for years. Subway said they tried to get them to update it since the beginning. I went to the address and then found out I couldn't hit arrives or picked up because it was so far away so I had to call support again so I can get delivery address. I got an order extremely late violation for that... next time I will just cancel. But WTF! Getting a violation because of them not doing their job

Wait wut? Delivery range? That's a joke, right? They continuously send me offers for 10+ miles (usually for pay equal to half the distance :/). This is Houston, it can take 30 minutes sometimes to just go 10 miles. I had one on Super Bowl Sunday for 16 miles for $3.81. Every restaurant I've ever ordered from (I've been around a minute, so this is pre-app delivery era) rarely goes over 6-7 miles, if that. I don't believe them when they say they have a "delivery range". At least as far as this market is concerned. Now, I have had one order change the address, but it was the same complex, just a different unit. They had gone down to their friend's place, so it was no problem.

My market switched to ONLY tip AFTER delivery 3 months ago. The customers cant tip until after you pick up the food, and you cant see it until after you deliver the food. The "high pay" prioritization classification I got last month was clutch. It literally only sent me $7 + base orders, which automatically kept me from getting BS fast food no tip orders. I went from a 17% acceptance rate the month before i got "high pay" to an over 80% acceptance rate and top dasher status, all while averaging around $30 an hour. I made the $30 per hr with the low acceptance rate, but had to schedule my dashes and all during peak times. Now i still average $30 an hour, but its whenever i want. I plan nothing. It almost always gives me stacked orders after the time the lobby closes and you waste time in drive thru lines, so im over $15 a restaurant stop.

The Doordash peak pay rates are usually in the middle of the night. It diesnt mean that the zone will be busy at that time with orders. But the higher the peak pay in a zone, that is wherr all of the drivers will flock to, making that area not busy, or not enough orders to having too many drivers. So you have to go eherr the demand is. In Pinellas County, Florida, there is way to many gig drivers and it is very competitive and if you are not a top dasher, you will only be receiving the low ball requests without tips. This area does not offer per hourly rates yet, so you really have to be at the best place at the right time, and time is money. If the restaurant takes longer than 12 minutes, i cancel.
