Glad to see Degenesis is getting a second life. If you don't know the history of the IP, it was a free RPG with incredibly high production values. Yes, you read that correctly; the digital version was 100% free. The novel and risky business model was based on the digital version building interest in buying a physical version. After a couple years of this, the publisher announced their experiment was a failure and they were ending support for the product. So I'm glad to see it making comeback.

Happy to see you comment on Archons stuff, they are up there with Reaper as my favourite companies in the ttrpg space. I've been backing them since D&L II and have a cupboard full of their stuff already, now with Prisma Cast I'm more excited for their products than ever. I can't wait to see them implement it for miniatures. I'll be getting the King of The Mountain pledge for sure and might use a different account to buy another smaller pledge for duplicates of the rocky caves and a few rooms ( getting extra stretch goals this way).

@@TheKingofAverageHere's a story you may want to investigate. The Red Joker is likely not going to fulfill Okko Chronicles: Cycle of Earth, and they may become the next Mythic. It has been nearly 4 months since their last update. In that update, they explained that they haven't even made partners for production yet, much less sent any files anywhere. This means their game is at least one year out (likely much longer), and it's now over 1.5 years since the campaign ended. They don't respond to messages on KS, nor do they respond to any posts on the KS page. They've gone silent on this campaign as well as Cyber Odyssey.

this is an off-topic comment, but I think you will like it. I follow Lance Hedrick, who discusses coffee. Like most board game reviewers he tends to work on things that he likes, and he spends relatively little time reviewing things he doesn’t like. Here’s how he puts it: I follow the dopamine. -Toby

A quick question. How much do you/did you use Vorpal Board. I have been looking at this and you did a couple of videos about it. There seem to be very few videos not done by the company.

Only a handful of times, but it ended up super cool! I scanned in my minis, game board, tiles, cards, and the custom dice to Conan and was able to play a scenario remotely with some patrons of mine! Was pretty cool :D

Dungeons and Lasers will cost me a lot money. I haven't painted a lot of the last dungeons and lasers terrain I own so the prepainted version is more expensive of course , but perfect.

What do you think of the new campaign game by CMON that’s going to be pre-order so maybe no stretch goals. It looks like they took the game play of zombicide and the tiles of massive darkness 2 and turned it into a narrative adventure campaign. The Deep Keep. Since I love zombicide now. (Marvel zombies pvp is epic btw) I think this will be a very accessible campaign game for the crowd that likes games like tales from the red dragon inn.

The Marvel rpg is already available in retail. CMoN didn’t design it, they just have the license for all the accessories (standees, etc…).

As someone that plays a lot of Rpg's like Dnd Marvel Multiverse doesn't sound that interesting because you already have plenty of Superhero based RPG's out their that are great. The Issue I have with the new CMON Marvel Rpg is people in RPG's tend to like playing new characters they created, in a marvel story, not playing preexisting characters. Like we already have an issue, and its something you pointed out but I will explain it. The reason they don't have Hulk playable in original is because of the type of hero's depending on the scenarios. If you have a Bank robbery scenario, and have someone play the hulk, all of a sudden the scenario becomes too easy, or you have the opposite problem, were for some reason the guy playing the hulk is getting his ass kicked by bank robbers lol. This is why usually in a superhero Rpg they tend to have people make their own characters, and balance it out by having everyone equal, depending on the type of game your playing whether it universal, or city level.

I feel the same way after watching the Degenesis games-play video, “seems meh”. I want to like it, the art looks great but the game and mechanics were lacklustre. Maybe it was just me, but the one vs many seemed more of a diluted GM role vs many. It also seemed like lots of downtime for players and the GM. I get it though, some strategy takes time. I’d like to see more once the campaign starts because this could be my big game purchase of the year. I’m not sure it’s different enough from my current games to warrant picking it up. Time will tell!

Yeah that's the hard part with games in general, not just gameplay videos. It very much depends on the group right? My gaming group is most often my family and a close friend and we're all "power gamers" in that we've played a lot, and played a lot together so we can pick up and play a game with each other rather swiftly. But some groups can have AP prone people, or ones really into roleplaying, etc. But yeah I got the same sense. Some people react differently on camera too so could be a bit "shown up" to it detriment. I like the mechanics I saw on their own merit, but put together and implemented I'm just not sure.

Hi, in order to reduce downtime, which is an issue in this line of games, the Hostile (the overlord) can react or store his actions at the end of each player turn. This way he can interrupt strategies or bid his time for more destructive combos. The other tool we used to reduce downtime is a completely free turn order for the players. Most of the game effects last "for the round" so most players will have an incentive to play early. It is not decided at the start of the round by any means. Meaning strategies can change while the round unfurl. Everybody has to keep being vigilant.

200 videos last year and none were actually playing a game. Hasn’t happened, ever from my recollection. Pretty much sitting in front of a computer, unboxing prototypes and games you no longer want that end up as a raffle/donation. Sorry my raffle money went on my kids school lunch for the day so have to pass. 👋

Man those school lunches add up! Have 4 kids so I hear you there :) I play tons but with a special needs son that needs attention a lot we're not really able to record anything long form very well as a family. Even with my unboxings I have to record around 11pm so he's asleep. This is simply not a video format you'll really ever find in my channel because of this.

I have a special needs child also. Having her play a board game with me never goes well. It’s sad that I can’t seem to share this hobby with her. Here’s to hoping when they get older we can share this hobby with them!
