As far as asking for someone to talk to him face to face, is he nuts? Does he not know how crazy people are now? I would be very careful about saying stuff like that. Too many nutjobs I would be worried about, but then again I am paranoid. Just saying!

Hi. Regarding Shadow Tactics, I think I've suggested you in one of my comments almost a year ago to cover the progress of the game - through the monthly updates of the only guy from the original team (even the "lowest" ranking one) who took upon himself to deliver the game. The backers are 100% right being angry at the "original" company ("it was a little tough to deliver the game, so we quit, f**k the company, f**k the project and f**k you and from now on, we focus on our new job at XXX company..."), but they must appreciate what that Kruppa guy is doing alone.

Is he semi-aggressive? At a convention, he said he wished he could punch all his critics like in high school (one guy talking to AG told us). The deathwish of one backer was too much. Still, there is a reason why people are getting angry (see six years delayed solo expansion from the Agents of Mayhem Solo) or the 800 days since the first assumed delivery date for Stellaris. Currently, there is no communicated timeline, deadline, or delivery date.

Being 2 years late and basically saying fuck you to people complaining about not getting the game in the timeline *you* promised. To have the gal to sit there all mighty. I don't even have skin in the game and am upset about that attitude. But I'm sure there's plenty of people still giving them money so why would they care about backers, or care about timelines, or care about your money.
@TheKingofAverage2 күн бұрын
Yeah it's a pretty poor attitude to have about it. It just goes to show the disconnect between having someone's money and then making promises not kept to them. It also shows the focus on money. To go instantly to how much money your making from it to that flippant attitude is quite telling if where the focus is.

"It's real art... digital, but still...." Wow, that's some art snobbery right there, crapping on people who use a digital canvas. I get what you're saying, that it's not AI and that's good, but you let a little prejudice slip through there, sir.

Neesless to say, CE games artbooks took a huge nose dive in quality since all we gwt is some crap digital concept art hastily cobbled together. Real artist paint with paints.
@GoodEggGuyКүн бұрын
@@Mario-pq9bi <smiles> People who create art on a digital canvas are still artists and they're definitely real. You might not like that medium, which is fine, but it's real art. There's a fair few people upset in the Kemet campaign, as the compulsory big box is making shipping rather expensive. And there's only one pledge for returning players, so some are upset at being "forced" to purchase other modes when they only really want the 6p expansion. Oh, and the sleeves add-on doesn't cover the new material, only the existing boxes.
@beornthebear90232 күн бұрын
I think part of the problem is there is a big variety in what people want. So they would have a lot of different options which would increase costs. kickstarter and gamefound get revenue based on a percentage of funds gained. we know that and that's why the things displayed and focused on are the way they are. the more money a campaign gains, the more money Kickstarter and Gamefound get. why would they want to do something different. I feel the problem is that we've been burned too many times by problems with companies. Usually higher fundings means more chances to just get your game, because lower fundings means taking a chance that they can just make the game. And you have Mythic Games that cant ship a game that got 6 millions in funding... One of my favorite games I got from crowdfunding is Arena : The contest. After years in crowdfunding if Arena was launched now I wouldnt have backed it just because its scary now to back unknown publishers... Crowdfunding is not what it used to be...

I could see how the almost funded games would be helpful. But I'd prefer a "pick of the day" or "7 picks of the week" type of categories. It couldn't be automated, though. And I suppose it could be misconstrued as favoritism or even paid for advertising. I would hope that it wouldn't be. But also, my pick for the day may not be your pick of the day. But more than either of those, I'd love to see a passion project category where the creator has put his/her/their hearts and souls into it. Maybe this last category is more of a blog type than a top 10 list. A place where the creator talks about WHY they want the project to succeed rather than the WHAT of what's in it. The WHAT is for the campaign page. The WHY sometimes never gets heard unless it's spread out over multiple updates or whatever. Or even the master plan of, if we fund this part of the game, we plan on continuing it's story or world with these future things.

As someone who made a small indie game on Kickstarter with a single sku, the idea of a just funded or nearly funded list would have been huge. The campaign was buried on page four almost the whole campaign. We managed to raise 10k, produce 250 games in the US, and fulfilled within five months, but it was extremely hard to get any attention when the platform felt like an echo chamber for the most popular games.
@TheKingofAverage2 күн бұрын
Exactly what I've heard from others as well. The problem is the platform doesn't make as much (per campaign) compared to the big ones, so they don't focus on it. I feel they are ruining their own platform and the concept as a while by doing so though. Glad you were still able to find and deliver though!
