Honestly, most of these are better than most of MJs dunks... But that's only mainly because MJ didn't have many great Dunkers before him to watch and learn from. MJ said in an interview that when HE was growin up, DR. J was his idol. Since the late 90s , there's been Vince Carter, Jason Richerdson, T-Mac, young Kevin Garnet, Blake Griffin Derrick Rose, Kobe, Amare Stoudamire, D-Wade, Josh Smith, and LeBron himself and many others. That's because they started getting ideas from MJ and Dominique and other guys from the 80s. Then they all started getting ideas from each other and getting more creative and that's how Dunkers have gotten to the level they're at today! That's what I call basketball evolution. Specifically, SLAM DUNK evolution!

(I'm not talking about who is a better basketball player, just in case of haters). Michael Jordan's dunks were amazing because he was dunking on centers and power forwards. Lebron Jame's dunks are amazing because of the elevation and power. LeBron is the better "dunker" because Lebron is a much better athlete than Jordan and if Lebron had the chance, he could probably dunk on players like mutombo or ewing.

@Alen2379 But sports are also about putting on a show for the crowd and building up fan momentum. And nothing makes a crowd more excited than a big dunk. People don't just come to a game to see their team win, they want to see something amazing.

VC was able to get up there in the past, but he's getting older. He's still a really good player though. He'll occasionally give you a highlight slam, but he's more clutch nowadays. I do think that it would be fun to see how LeBron will do in the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest (if he still decides to do it).

Absolutely! The Top Dunkers videos of Kobe,Vince,Wade and Dwight were much shorter in duration but more entertaining....and those vids didn't have people talking about them as if they were "dunking Gods". I like Lebron James but he is the definition of being Over-hyped

No Kobe wore because he felt like then, and now, that he works 24 hours a day. The first part of his career, he wore the number 8 when he was strictly a scorer. Now, he feels like he's becoming more of a passer in this his second part of his career.
