After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Incredible movie. One of the best sequels ever made. An absolute rarity where the sequel triumphs the original. This one and "Everything Everywhere All At Once" - - best films I've seen so far this year.

Same here. It just leaves you feeling awesome at the end. Only reason I haven't gone a fourth time is because stupid Jurassic World took over IMAX. What a waste too, that movie sucks lol.

Thank you Tom and whole crew for not using CGI for every stupid thing. I love how is all real. I love how all of Tom's stunts are directly made by him like in Mission Impossible. That's why i started to love his movies.

yes there were a few scenes that used CGI but 90% was real..

@@edecioparedes7424 The ending is mostly CGI, since they obviously could not get a Su-57, and neither could they get a flying F14. So all the scenes in the F14 were filmed on the ground.

Watched it tonight for Father’s Day, really enjoyed it. They made it like an 80s style real movie with modern film making and camera work on real planes. No cut in cgi is refreshing

Watched it 3 times already in the cinema. This film was amazing. Surpasses the original whilst being nostalgic and original in my opinion. Really was one of the best cinema experiences I’ve ever had watching this film. God I wish I was a pilot!

I already have MAD respect for TOM CRUISE!!! He is my FAV actor but really tho everyone in this movie have my deep respect!! This ofc would have been so difficult for everyone but it tuned out to be AMAZING!! I watched the movie and omg it's my FAVOURITE!! I loved it so so much!! Y'all did amazing cast, crew!!

seen it 3 times and already preordered on itunes.....one of my favorite parts is when cyclone was saying mav will no longer teach and he takes the f18 and the class sees on the monitor and everyone is pretty in tuned and excited to hear his run to the target

It's great character continuity honestly. We know maverick still has the ego but his character development in this film is incredible. And that scene pretty much made him come full circle. Absolutely brilliant. From beginning to end, this film is a masterpiece.

This film was beyond good...it redefined what can be done with CGI and real action all the while being 100% true to its original founding purpose. It will get the testosterone flowing then the next minute have you melting with emotion (Tom and Val). An absolutely superb film and to this general aviation pilot, went straight to my soul. Bravo to all involved!

I also liked that in some scene you definitely recognize Tom Cruise real age. And he is not hiding that he's a guy of 60 now.Yes yes, he is absolutely fit for his age but he is not trying to hide it. Instead, and that is maybe the beauty of the film, he finds his way to redemption by teaching his team and seeing how it evolves.

Nothing can ever top the TOP GUN, not to give you any idead that you don't allready have but you can make one with Maverick's son and it will also be great. Maverick is a blockbuster that delivers. Very few movies are more than the trailers. This one is a lot more. It's a pure joy movie and for me, TOP GUN fanatic, I get goosebumps everytime I hear this new version of the TOPGUN theme. I will watch that movie about 400 times, just like the first one.

Man ive done pre-sea training in aus, bout as basic as it gets. But the moment where they flip a life raft while youve got ropes and stuff everywhere? Everything tells you to panic, every small bit of instinct. It feels quite amazing when you overcome that. I can recommend such training to anyone. Offices need team building? That will unite em.

Watching the water survival scenes, Now those actors know a little what it's like to work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. That is the same training we have to do every fours years for Huet Egress Water Survival.
