I wanted to add, please check your other appliances for Teflon. I had to get rid of my beloved air fryer because the basket was Teflon.

A good, well seasoned cast Iron skillet is non-stick when cared for properly and NOT toxic to birds! Febreze posts on their label that it's deadly to birds...

He flies like my gcc flies. Fluffy flutter flight. My sun flies like a mad demon and really pushes some air. When I was married, her hairspray would make me cough and gag. I can imagine it’s like tear gas for a tiny bird. I’ve read mostly about crushing or smothering with small conures. Mine are caged whenever I feel drowsy because they both like to snuggle and that can lead to accidents. I had a close call with the wind slamming an inside door years ago. Any door that stays open has had a door stop under it ever since. When children are around they’re caged as well. Little kids make a lot of mistakes and have more accidents. Even a relatively small accident can end a 3 ounce creature.

While teflon is indeed toxic to birds, that's not exactly how the pans work. They stop stuff from sticking by way of physical properties. They only start releasing gasses at ~240 C° I usually only use mine for omelettes, which cook at a low temp. If I use high temperatures I use other cookware.

Guys Teflon is soooo deadly!! We got rid of all the Teflon pans in our house only to not know that the oven liner was made out of Teflon... We lost like 7 birds in one night, it was like they just dropped dead. It was horrible!!!! we even lost a Green Cheek that talked!!! Check everything and never cook HOT!!! The birds were upstairs in the bedroom not even in the same room, and they died!!!! so tragic!!!

I learned my lesson only use staniless steel pans no air fresheners no candles no perfume no new products that get hot like hair dryers or curling irons anything that get hot you need to burn that thing in some where else some place else's house so I only use stainless steel pans and if you get a new heater installed you need to take that birdbiut the house for a good few days to Burn off any oils or Teflon or anything like that seriously anything thst gets got like toasters an stuff like that they need to be burned off and zero hair sprays wife will do this in the down stairs bathroom an the birds up stairs an no wax melts no candles none of that im very picky with my bird I lost a gcc I had 2 years I loved that bird parents got a new heater an they didn't know to burn it off an I was at work horible day in my life now im really anal about my bird

Very important to know all this stuff. new gas heaters are an electric heaters curling irons an hair dryers anything thst gets hot and is new electric heaters hair dryers an curling irons all this stuff needs to be burned off somewhere else there's no birds like a family or friends house or heck even out side burn thst new device in for a couple of few days and it will burn off the Teflon or whatever is on it an make it safe I have older electric heaters I do not ever want to have to buy a new one I wanna keep my feather baby safe and they have melts that are parrot safe they are expensive

what about shampoos/conditioners/deodorants? most of them carry a scent on them and i was wondering if those could be unsafe and if there are any nontoxic alternative brands. people say they shower with their birds in their main shower and i was always concerned about soap, shampoo and conditioner scents

You are completely wrong about Teflon. It is not a gas that makes Teflon non-stick!!! It is not the Teflon, but the chemical used to adhere the Teflon to the metal. I understand that this chemical is no longer used, but still probably worth avoiding the risk. Otherwise I really enjoy your videos :-)

Can you just put your bird outside until the gas from all the things you mentioned goes away?

Is it ok if I have the perfume on me? Just like the scent? And I only have one non stick pan and we just use that for like 5-10 minutes, while using it I can take the parrot to a different room and only bring the parrot to that area after the air has been cleared? And between gas and electric heaters, which one’s the better option for a parrot?
