I might have missed it, but does Yoko Kanno/Seatbelts not fall in the criteria for this collection? 300 is a phenomenal collection to compile well done. I was surprised how many Japanese death metal bands have female lead singers.

The Japanese have made some great alternative tunes, which I’ve still got in my music collection 😊

I would say The 5,6,7,8s should certainly have been in the list and I would also argue for Teengenerate and Jackie and the Cedrics. I won't argue for them but I'd have liked to see Husking Bee too. Interesting list even with the glaring errors 😉.

Just 2:45 in. No idea how you keep track of 300 bands like this. Impressive. Only gripes so far are Jiluka and Glim Spanky are way too low. Both would be top 40 on my list. Good chance I'll have more gripes later.

What the hell did I just watch!? I feel like I’ve been living under a rock. I took a closer look at three bands that stood out for me from this epic list. Maximum the hormone 25:18 sounds like system of a down and slipknot had a baby with Mr. bungle, but they’re not sure who the father is. The first Dir en grey video I watched had two warnings I had to click acknowledging it may be offensive to some viewers. The second Der un grey video was a story about how some kids made a fake song in their basement. It made it on my to Napster. A bunch of people debated its authenticity and it become a cult classic. The blue hearts are an amazing power pop band with some catchy songs. The music in this video reminds me of Japanese porn. Some of it’s weird, but I can’t stop watching it.😂😂
