A few missing artists - Motor Ace (Pieces was a great 2000s song), Big Pig (Breakaway and Hungry Town were 80s classics) Tina Arena (Sorrento Moon and Chains were huge in 90s) Kate Ceberano (Bedroom Eyes and Pash were top songs in 80s/90s) Margaret Urlich (Escaping and Number One were 90s classics) Shihad aka Pacifier (Run was a 00s classic) Sneaky Sound System (Huge in 00s with I love it and Ufos) Daryl Braithwaite (As The Days go By, Horses, One Summer) Dynamic Hepnotics (Gotta Be Wrong Way to Love - 80s hit) The Black Sorrows (Chained to the Wheel) Johnny Diesel and The Injectors (I dont need love) Chantoozies (Wanna Be Up)

I'm curious, how do you select each song to associate with each band? In some cases here, you've selcted the most obscure track of their discography, others it's the song their are most known for.

Probably because youtube could copyright strike the video and those bands with their most known songs just weren't detected by youtube copyright.

Icehouse, Crowded House, INXS, Midnight Oil, Divinyls (underrated band), AC/DC, Men at Work, Savage Garden, Air Supply, Lenka, Gotye, Sia, John Farham, Rick Springfield, Real Life, Olivia. Newton-John my favs...i never liked Kylie Minogue's music. Great list! I would like a Top German Bands and Singers 😁

An eclectic mix, thanks for the introduction to some bands I've not heard before and will be adding to my listening rotation. Criminal to put Mental as Anything at 149 - they should at least be in the top 20. Even if you don't like their music, they were a pretty popular band in the 80s. Reckon Johnny O'Keefe, Christine Anu, Richard Clapton, Rene Geyer, Little Pattie, Ed Keupper (separate to his time with The Saints), Jessica Mauboy, Tina Arena, Do Re Mi, The Whitlams, Angus & Julia Stone, JoJo Zep/The Black Sorrows, Regurgitator, Redgum - even Slim Dusty, Kasey Chambers and John Williamson (Keith Urban was included after all) - should have been included in a list of top 150 Australian bands and singers. They've all made a significant contribution to the Australian music scene over the decades. Maybe I just listened to too much JJJ/Triple J back in the day.

Where the fuck are The 'Gurge?!?!?!? Mostly this is a great list, several artists I've never heard of, several I was unaware were Australian. But how could you have missed Regurgitator? I'll accept missing Happyland, [ Cell 7 ], and Pendulum (the Melbourne band, not the Perth one), as they are fairly obscure.

Not sure if anything is original these days - too much has come before. I'm well past 46, but would recommend some Ed Keupper for something different to INXS and AC/DC. Honey Steel's Gold, Character Assassination and A King in the Kindness Room were his best solo albumns IMO.

@@1legend517 I know Ed is British - he lives about 35 miles away from me - but is he not the biggest Male Singer/Songwriter export currently from the UK? Australian songwriters don't seem to figure much in my part of the world currently! My Ex-Girlfriend - Best Friend of 22 years last month has raved about Nick Cave and The Birthday Party for yonks, I only bothered to take a listen a few weeks ago and I am mightily impressed!
