Two best past tips I got from you- buying a set of those Harbor Freight hook tool sets, and a 4 in 1 screwdriver. Crazy how handy they are. I use them all the time now! Cheers my friend.

Another good tool is Harbor freight‘s Engine Cleaning blower. It’s basically an air blower that has a hose that sucks up water and blast it out. The perfect tool for cleaning that hard to get spots like that lib hinging spot that is hard to clean out. But it’s also great for cleaning lots of difficult to get to areas. Only $10

Do you have a video showing the other type of switch with the hole. My washer is not draining and I believe it is that switch

What if it's not the lid switch...? I got a Kenmore Series 80 that doesn't drain...actually haven't troubleshooted it yet. Didn't know to lift the lid..broke the keeper. Lid switch sounds healthy. Going to check the drain pump and see if it's stuck. I'll let you know.

Hi! I have the other type of top load washer where the switch is behind the panel. Can you please tell me how to fix that? I have disconnected the switch but I also see that there is nothing under where those 3 holes are that you showed at 2:20. Is this just a matter of moving the piece to that area? or is it likely i'll need a replacement? thank you sm!

@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
I might be misunderstanding but it sounds like you were saying do you have the other type of light switch than the one I am demonstrating in this video. If you see those three holes and they are all empty that is where the lid switches normally held in place on that machine. The two small holes will be screw holes the big hole is where the lid switch receiver will be. A piece of plastic will fall into the big hole pressing the lid switch down. Usually if it’s missing that means the lid switch has broken completely off and you’ll have to replace it if it is still intact there is a good chance you can zip tie it back together and it will still work. When you put it back together and press the button down if it makes a clicking noise more than likely still works if it does not you’ll have to replace it. Good luck

Please help. I've changed the drum rollers the pulley roller. Put new belt and blower wheel on my maytag dryer and its still making a noise. To me it sounds like its coming from the shaft on the drive motor. What should I do
@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
Check where the drum lip touches. Sometimes they will be something stuck between them making the noise. Other than that I would take the drum out and spin everything until you found the squeak. Good luck

So did you have to get some sort of formal training or license to be able to fix appliances?
@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
As far as I understand Appliance Repair is not a license trade. Although it’s a difficult one to learn and there are classes and courses for it. I would recommend going to Appliance Boot Camp with Mike. I personally know him and he’s a good guy that runs a good class.

How come you and Ben never mention speed queen? Do you not like those?
@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
Two reasons. I personally don’t see a lot of speed queens in my area because there’s not a dealer near me. I have seen speed queen but only once or twice and I did think they were great quality. Direct drive washers are very common even though they are a little older and they are way cheaper. I see them all the time for under $200 vs speed queen is in the $800 range. In a few years when direct drive washer fade away from being available I can definitely see me recommending Speed Queen. I would recommend Speed Queen if you have to buy new and can afford it.

People do that I don’t recommend it. You never know when a kids going to do something silly. I remember as a kid throwing all kinds of stupid things in my dad‘s washer that had a bypass on it. Kids are unpredictable.

@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
@@ScantPear There’s a lot of money in the appliance refurbished in business. I usually buy them for $20 fix them including new parts for average of $30 and sell them for $200. If they want delivery it’s $45 extra. Any new lid switch should last a few years. And when it goes out my business card is taped to the washer and usually I’ll make another hundred bucks doing a service call. Not to mention kids do crazy things and I don’t want some kid to stick his arm and it while it’s on spin cycle.
