Luckily we'd had a couple days of warm up laps at the park but still woke up with sore legs! hahah. Stroopwaffles and Stingers are our go-to mountain biking snacks! Soooo good! I bet the ones from the Netherlands are even better!

Thanks! We definitely want to do those type of videos. We’re just so backlogged on travel videos right now and haven’t stopped creating so it might be a little while before we get around to it. If you have any specific question feel free to ask! We love all our gear and have certainly put it through the ringer.

Yeah, how’d you all (and I guess Evan specifically since I’m a guy) pick a solid all around bike? Something that can climb but also do decently gnarly downhill stuff. I’m ready to invest when I get my next bike, but they’re so expensive I want to pick the right one. Thanks again!

@@john-michaelsteiner456 I feel your pain. I definitely wanted a bike that I could pedal and feel comfortable taking to the occasional bike park. I think most important is feel/comfort on the bike and the only way to find that out is demo/festivals. Luckily these are gradually coming back since covid. My current bike is a custom build meaning I bought the frame and components on pinkbike, eBay, competitive cycylist. It was an older frame 2016 Santa Cruz Hightower LT so I’d demo’d one in the past so I knew it could do just about anything I could. I’m getting off track but a lot of the newer “All Mountain” bikes pedal really well but if you ride mostly cross country it’s probably too much bike. I would consider what terrain you are most likely going to and cater to that. You can always rent a bike at the bike park if you only ride them a couple times a year. I hope this helps! (Melanny’s height dictates her bike but the Yeti SB5 is such a fun ride I’d probably go yeti sb130 for 29er tires.)

I’m planning a trip to BC/Whistler next summer. I’ve seen a few MTB channels recommend renting a DH bike. I’m planning on being there for about a week or so and would like to avoid the extra $600. Looked like you were riding your own bikes. Did you feel held back at all?

It really depends on which trails you plan on riding and which bike you have and your comfort level on steep terrain. Our bikes are all mountain/enduro bikes and we’ve ridden them just about everywhere. 1.) we’ve never ridden downhill bikes so not sure how much easier they are. 2.) for riding outside of the bike park I think a downhill bike would be a burden to pedal to the top of the trails. 3.) The park does take a toll on the bikes so if you’re worried about keeping your bike fresh it’s something to consider. Overall we did everything we wanted to do at the park and in the Whistler and Squamish area and don’t think a bigger bike would have changed anything.
