Can I just say this is very misleading. You don't become a manager because your major is management. You must work your way up.

Actually the few retail jobs that I’ve had, had more managers that came in with degrees vs those who had only moved up internally. Ex: CVS, H&M, and Macy’s. It was upsetting because these people came in with barely any knowledge of how the employees felt but corporate didn’t care because they had a big name degree. I’ve trained about 5 managers (as a sales associate/supervisor) on how to work a register because they’ve never used one before. So it does happen.

In 2012 I graduated from NYU with a bachelors in economics and got a job as a sales rep for a midsized corporation making a base pay of 3.5k a month plus monthly commissions from sales on average around 2.2k. I took night classes at NYU stern school of business and got promoted to director of sales when I got out of school, skipping sales manager in the promotional ladder and I was making 13k a month. In 2017 I got promoted to vp of sales, and I must say sales is the best route, especially in the way of promotional opportunities. A degree in economics basically opens up half of all business related careers.

as with any job it is your job to excel. however these statistics are greatly inflated. Point being that when you do more poorly its not your fault. You are being lied to you see the median is just the midpoint between the extremes. The mode is much more common and I've never seen an Job statistics show that. Usually because its lower and when you take out your student loans at a college they want you to think you got this when they know deep down you don't.

Most companies would want a bachelor's degree at a minimum. But you can still get an associate's. Just make sure to at least transfer to your university and obtain a bachelor's. Also, you would want to gain experience through internships or at a startup company. This will help you get your foot into the door for corporate business work.

It depends on the field you want to go into. Strategy consulting, investment banking, and private equity are notorious for caring a lot more about school. If you are really passionate about one of the more competitive fields you can definitely make it work! I go to Ohio State which is normally considered non target or semi target and we have several students going to elite firms you just have to be willing to put in the work.

More generally school matters more for getting an interview so you can make up for that by networking harder to get in. Once you’re in the door, they want the people who are going to be the best fit and perform at the highest level not the people with the most expensive piece of paper.

These wage and job outlook numbers were sourced from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, (U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2017-18 Edition, BLS.gov/OOH) and represent the 2017 median pay for these occupations nationally. Earning your degree does not guarantee that you will get a job in these fields or earn these amounts.

@Charizard Rules Don't wait on it. The longer you wait the harder it's going to be. if you're in the high school start selling t-shirts, with cool designs or make custom t-shirts. Or sell candy or resale prom tickets to juniors. But don't wait on it bro. The longer you wait the less likely it is to happen

@Charizard Rules I agree with you. It's wise to play the waiting game and hold onto your cards. By doing so you are minimizing risk and increasing your chances of success. Your goal should be to start your business at a time and place that is advantageous and not ordinarily achievable. I'm going into the entertainment industry, but I want to finish some creative projects myself and get some legitimate business experience before starting a company. It's just a safer means of approach. Plus, it allows you to build connections which is extremely important in the business field.

Cheers for this, I have been researching "real estate education school" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Yiyrianna Tonwen Theorem - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
