They didn't include my favorite part of the dog take downs. The trainer/partner always says, and almost always in the same cadence and tone of voice, 'That's a goooo boo-oy. Goooo boo-y!" The Police Dog Training videos must have a guy that insists they say it just like that. :)

Theres another one where the dog catches the guy in the woods and grabs him by the balls and wont let go, and his shaking him by his sack for a few mins while dude is screaming lol. So funny

We use to have 3 Germany Shepherds, 2 males and 1 female. The males would go head first toward the intruder while the female would come in from their behind. She tore up many people. We had all the signs and safety control warning not to come onto our property. So many idiots thought these dogs were jokes. If they got someone down and we were not there the person could be killed. The J. Witnesses would drive up and the biggest male would be trying to eat them through the window while the other two were attacking the car and they wanted to know " Will they bite?" I always told them to try their luck and then leave. Sadly we only have the female and she is almost 14. This is ancient for a Germany Shepherd, but they always go the best food and care. She tried to go after a power line locator this week. Her spirt is willing but her body is not able. She is still the best dog.

The dogs are generally locked on to the scent of adrenaline. Thats why they will walk right past people who arent the target

While deployed to a U.S. Air Force base in the Philippines I saw USAF Canine unit inspecting aircraft before departure for Japan. First the dog did quick walk arounds of several aircraft then alerted on one, trying to get up inside the front landing gear area. Nothing there. Then the same alert on a second aircraft with a gallon bag of pot found. Turns out the dope had been first put up high inside a removable panel then removed as that aircraft was scratched from the flight out. The dope was then put in the second aircraft behind a panel just below the cockpit on the outside of the aircraft. It was wrapped in cloth smeared with grease then inside heavy foil then inside the sealed heavy plastic bag. Military aircraft doing heavy operations are dirty, smelly with hydraulic fluid, fuel and other stuff. Couldn’t fool that German Shepard, made a believer out of me.

Geesh, this was rough. When I was in kindergarten my mother worked at the courthouse and my school was across from the courthouse. I walked across the street and for some reason the sheriff's police dog took me down by the neck. I think that's the reason I don't like German shepherds

Dogs are too good for us. You guys should check out Donut Operator's K9 videos too. He also talks about the dangers to the dogs and helps them get stab proof vests for them.

I came between them to separate them, and my girl’s fang went right through the back of my hand. She’s still with me years later, and so is the scar between my pinky and ring finger. Yeah, that shit hurts. I’d rather be tased.

Interesting to see that they give the commands to the dogs in German a lot of the time (with thick US accent that is)... Is that because some dog training schools got used German methods? Or because it's a different language to what the suspect most likely speaks, to avoid confusion?

I'm going to assume that for the majority of these people fleeing, this is not their first rodeo so you think they would know better than to try to outrun a trained K9 who's going to tear them up as soon as he pounces on them. They might be able to outrun a human cop but outrunning that type of dog is near impossible.
