I have never understood why our privates have to be at risk with that bar. All those years doing crazy stuff on a stingray as a kid was painful.

I can't wait till you make a video of Trek sport Fx 6 ,2024 .I haven't seen anyone make a video of this bike .I only ride paved trails, so having this bike in carbon will make my ride faster than riding a Trek Marlin 6 . I love how you get into details and explain stuff ! Much appreciate you

If you're primarily sticking to paved trails, you may also want to consider an FX (non-sport) or Dual Sport. The Dual Sport has a similar riding geometry as a mountain bike, but with better manners on road. The new FX3 was redesigned and features a similar geometry to the FX Sport, but with an aluminum frame. Previous FX3s were more aggressive in posture (but not quite as aggressive as a road bike) and great for riding on pavement, whereas the current carbon-framed FX Sport models are a slightly more upright gravel-oriented ride.

Nice review of the 2024 Verve 2. I own a 2022 Verve 3 and have put on almost 3,000 miles on my bike. I would not consider it an old man's bike as I often can keep up with the fitness hybrid bike. After about 2,000 miles, I replaced the stock 700x45 tires for 700x38 and notice a slight increase in terms of speed, but not much. I will say, the FX and probably the dual sport will be a bit more nimble than the verve. I hope to one day venture into a road bike like the Domane

I own a 2022 verve 3, the front left shifter is really hard for me to use, so maybe not having it at all would be just fine!

I have the Specialized Roll 3 that is much better than this bike. Tires are larger and makes the bike more comfortable and sexier looking!

Just bought this same model from someone on FB marketplace place for $300. Mint condition. He used it once. Brought it to my LBS for them to check it out and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. What a steal!

I was in my local Trek store looking at a few bikes, and the salesman noticed me looking at the Verve. He said "You don't want that, that's an old man's bike." I decided he was right. 😂 The threaded headset is definitely outdated. The Dual Sport would be a better choice.

Looks like the new generation fx has same frame as a dual sport but with 700c wheels and thinner tires

Dual Sport and FX do not have the same frame. They might look similiar but wholy different frames.

At 68 years-an old man's bike is exactly what I was looking for to run my errands on etc.with a rack and cargo on the rear. My local trek guy assessed my needs and I got a '23 verve 2... it's a comfort Cadillac! Ha! I turned a verve one into a single speed and it's a blast.... the low step becomes real handy quickly!

@@Jamesthebikeguy Maybe the geometry number chart is not identical but just looking at them the FX has a more sloping top tube compared to the previous generation

@@stevebarnes9345 I'm 63 myself, but he thought I was too young for the Verve, apparently. I wasn't even looking at the step-through model, but the one with a regular top tube. I actually went in to look at the Dual Sport 2, though. But they didn't have one in my size, and didn't seem very interested in ordering one for me. So, no sale. I'll keep riding my 1990s bikes for now. Single-speed wouldn't work in my area. Too many hills. My main bike is still my old 3x8 Trek 4000 hybrid with 26" wheels, which works fine and looks practically new.
