Yes I love my truck. No I’m not gonna sell it. These are just things to consider when YOU are in the market for one. Things you wanna look at before deciding. Thanks 🤙👌 Keep it clean! (Find it funny how there were 3 dislikes in first 30 seconds 😂😂 like bro, you couldn’t have watched it passed the start up to know if it was a “bad video” in 30 seconds 😂 chillllll)

LOUD 'N' PROUD. I dont disagree about traction it makes sense but my old mans ford plowed snow in Northern Illinois for a few years with no issues very rarely did he have to put it in 4-wheel drive and he's very rarely had extra weight in the back maybe some solar salt for the water softener four five pounds at most

LOUD 'N' PROUD sorry I meant for 500 pounds at the most when that truck regularly carried two grand in the bed and pulled a 7000 pound cargo trailer but what you're saying does make sense about dividing the weight making it have less traction but my dad's dually did great and he plowed hella snow in Northern Illinois for 7 years

We found at work that 245 Goodyear Duratrac tires are the best 4 season tire on duallys. Amazing on ice and mud. Can do 265 but sticky mud won’t clear well between the duals

I ran the same truck for 10yrs. Ran 255/85r16 BFG km2 mts. Best tires on the truck 45k miles on them. Plowing, towing 5th wheel big gooseneck. And dragging races. Great traction take a look

That 5 speed is the weak link. It can’t handle big trailers well. Unlike the Ford ZF6 speed which has a cooler, the NV4500 doesn’t have a cooler and will grenade on long uphill grades. I lost three in 14 months hauling a hot shot rig. Went to the NV5600 which is immense. Also own a Ford 6.4 with the ZF750 (HD version) and it may be stronger than the 5600, although their both adequate.

Can't hear your dialog after you started the engine until you got inside the truck. It's too late for me. My wife already bought a 5 speed dually. Except for four wheel drive, it looks just like yours. It's a 99 with a Cummins.

Just my opinion...but, as a deep southern liver, I've NEVER broke my dually free...none of the three I own. All three are 2nd gen, all three have Cooper S/T Maxx. Me, my brother or dad, who daily these trucks, have NEVER broke our trucks free when working or driving, accelerating or stopping. Wet, dry, and mostly on dirt (no snow). We broke free once or twice, but yanking the e-brake doesnt count, or absolutely bald tires on rain, or snot mud and full throttle.

I’m running 35/12.50 all terrains on my truck and I been cruising around in the snow and ice in 2wd with no weight. Keep your rpms lower and it’s not a issue. Plus take off in second gear and you won’t have a issue taking off. Sand bags in the bed and learn how to shift correctly and a 5spd is awesome on snow

When people try to convince me auto is better, and in a lot of cases it can be, I don’t I know why but I kind of hate just putting my foot down, And just steering. Even in a Ferrari, my 8 year old cousin could do it. The world is just a big gta game where manual is becoming less of an option, and it sucks yo see that

The company I work for has a 01 ram Cummins 24valve dually. I hate driving through construction on the highway when construction crews put those barriers inches from the yellow line especially while towing a trailer that's as wide as the truck. And as u said it's not easy keeping these trucks in the lanes

you might want to find a cover for the grill. when you block cold air coming in, the engine will warm up better. I live in Texas and the temp where I live is around 30-40 degrees f. I got a cover for my grill that I can open a quarter that some air can get in but not too much to make it still cold. and my truck gets to operating temp. something to think about.

Only thing better than a 5 speed Cummins dually is a 6 speed Cummins dually. I found that running KO’s (or KO2’s) fixes a lot of the rear floating. Tried a lot of different tires and those seem to be the best, especially when I’m plowing. Nice and narrow dually sizes. Also a quick diesel tip, I always idled up - using a snow brush between the seat and the fuel pedal - to about 1200 rpm when I had my 24 valve. I found that just idling makes no heat on the diesel, but just a little fuel and it’ll actually start warming up. Now that I have the 6.7, it does that automatically. I like the channel, please keep the cool videos coming.

I have a 2nd gen dodge dually .. They are not for everyday stop and go driving .. In the winter you have to be careful if you keep your front tires in the wheel tracks your rear wheels are on the white line .. If you don't but a manual trans dodge you better start saving your money because a good strong built automatic with a good torque convertor costs a fortune..

had a nv45 dually and still have nv56 dually ho, honestly don't use first gear in the 6 speed anyway but is better to ride. if you get 5 speed make sure it has 355 gears, the 410s 5speed is a fuel killer, 6 speed try to find one with 410s.

I think the 1 tons and/or 5 speeds back then had the hybrid Dana 80 with 4.11 rear end, it makes for a little different driving experience then the 3.54 rear ends. I have a 96 5 speed and a 01 6 speed and the 01 is definitely nicer to drive on the straight aways. At 60 mph the 01 will be below 2000 rpms and just cruise along where the 96 will be around 2100 and be roaring.

Kalaehina my 92 dually has 4.10s 5 speed and it does 60 at about 2100 ish. Screaming. Looking at changing to 3.55s.

For better traction and better ride I lower the tire pressure in my tires if I'm not heavy hauling. The rear tires call for 80lbs of pressure but I run it with 65-70lbs. On a dually you could go even lower. More than enough if you are not hauling max payload bud and you will see better traction and ride. I have done this for many years with no issues at all and I get better wear from my tires

If you put weight in the back it will help alot also. If you do add weight place it close to the tailgate as this will give you the best results. Great video bud!

The only problem with lowering the tire pressure in a dually is you MUST NOT let the sidewalls touch that is one of the fastest ways to destroy your tires.

Robert Lange 10-15lbs won't be enough to make the tires rub. Not even close

Buddy buy winter tires...... will make traction thousand times better.... also as for down shifts make sure you’re in the right speed area for the gear you’re going to down shift into that will make it less all over the road! Come drive that here in Ottawa Canada see what slick roads really are ahaha easy with the clutch pedal
