@@Allison193 Well, I had HELLP syndrome. According to the Preeclampsia Foundation, "HELLP (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes and Low Platelets) syndrome is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia.... Early diagnosis is critical because serious illness and even death can occur in about 25% of cases." They found out I had HELLP only because I went in because my back was hurting. My platelets were dropping as we spoke. And even though I had eaten only about 4 or so hours before, I had to go into surgery for an emergency C-section. This is bad because for emergency C-sections, Josh can't be in there and I have to be put fully under. This is bad because I had food that I could throw up, aspirate, choke, and die on. So I was battling the HELLP syndrome and the anesthesia relaxing my muscles so much that digested food could kill me. I needed 2 bags of blood during the surgery and another 1-2 afterwards. I couldn't hold my babies because I was on a 24-hour drip that made me prone to seizures. So yeah. Literally almost died. And Josh wasn't there with me even though that was the plan and I needed him. I was scared, begging the anesthesia nurse to not let me die, crying as I went under, scared I wouldn't wake up again.

Bluey really takes me back to those old nick jr/ playhouse Disney shows of my childhood. It is innocent, wholesome storytelling that teaches vital lessons to kids and adults. No grossout humor, no "subversive content," no dull ABC recitations, and no politics (which is shocking considering one episode is set during an election).

I think the one that stuck with me the most is the episode with Jack, who has ADHD and Turtle Boy. It's nice that not only did the creator and the writers of the show included characters with a form of disability, but they went through the trouble of including the Australian Sign Language into the series!
@jackall-trades61493 ай бұрын
ADHD is hard to pinpoint these days. They really over-diagnose it (especially with boys) and medicate them for it. Just direct their boundless energy toward something(s) and they're usually fine.

First, Ari, I'm glad you and the littles are ok. That is priority 1. Second, I'm there with you with Baby Race. My oldest is going to be 18 next May and...I gave her up as a 6 week old because my living situation wasn't appropriate to raising her. I gave her up in an open adoption but never knew if she would want me in her life. When I first saw Baby Race and looked at my two young kids (6 and 4), my first thought was of her. The "you're doing great" became "you're doing great and you did great" because I needed a reminder that I did the right thing almost 18 years ago. She reached out (with adopted parents permission) over a year ago and I now have a relationship with her. But when I first saw Baby Race I couldn't know that would happen. Third, Josh, you and Ari both make awesome content. I would wait as long as necessary to receive a new video from you. Take care of the family. Your fans will always be waiting and we all understand if things get delayed due to outside issues. Take care of yourselves first.

10:48 That's not weird at all. Rusty is one of the best portrayals of positive masculinity I've seen in many a moon. What too many people don't realize about toxic masculinity is that it isn't just any old display of traditionally masculine qualities. It's when the pressure to conform to those qualities causes men to hurt themselves and others.
@cutepuddleslime82013 ай бұрын
Another awesome character that has positive masculinity is Kirishima from My Hero Academia. There's a video that goes into depth on how masculinity can be portrayed very positively not only in MHA male characters (as well as the toxic ones) but also in general on how masculine qualities should be portrayed, even if it isn't like that of Kirishima.

And, as someone that is neurodivergent, I really appreciated her letting pretzel rest until he is ready to join and also welcoming him. I had a bunch of teachers that will pressure me to play, enjoy things I didn’t, and will try to encourage me by not letting me play if I arrived to late to the game and by telling me if I complained “you should’ve joined when I told you”. I only learned that I have to let in into social pressure and do things on anyone’s time but my in or I won’t get to do them Ever…Sorry for the trauma dumping but I also Wanted to say THIS episode HELPED ME to work. One of the best things about Bluey to me is the running theme of "good parenting, even if the kid isn't yours", with the adults always treating the kids with care, confidence and respect. Bandit and Chili parent their kids' friends, Wendy helps parent Bluey and Bingo and Calypso parents all her students. And Rusty ties into the good parenting theme because he's clearly such a healthy example of classical masculinity because his dad and Digger both are and both do an excellent job modeling what behavior is appropriate and how you should treat the people around you.

Grandad hits my sister differently and she only watched it a few days ago. She said she had to stop watching it with her kids because it made her nearly cry. The reason for that is due to our dad. He only got to meet her son when he was just a baby and never got to meet his granddaughter and to be frank it was because he never wanted to see a doctor. If he thought something was wrong he'd handle it until he couldn't and when he did that.. He couldn't handle it and he ended up being diagnosed with stage four cancer. I can't even watch Grandad anymore without crying. Knowing we could have had more times together and now we can't. It's a hard thing to face in all honesty. "You should take care of yourself for me because, I still need you." Is something I wish I could have told my dad sooner. Maybe he'd still be here if I did. I can relate to parents having you late though. I'm in the same boat as you and my little sister is only three years younger then me. So yeah.. Point is you kinda described why Grandad is such a good episode and I felt the need to comment just because of it.

So what I'm trying to say is I appreciate the work you have done both on and off the channel and I hope to eventually meet you both one day. Thank you for your videos I wouldn't be here without them. From your recently adult fan Dia

I absolutely LOVE Bluey. Do you know how hard it is to find an entertaining kids show that DOESN'T talk down to it's viewers? Thank you for existing Bluey.

Based on Josh's warning of making sure that something is legal makes me wonder: Will the two (Josh and Ari) let their kids watch Gravity Falls? "When there's no cops around, anything's legal!" Also that quote became a t-shirt in Hot Topic (not lying)

Welcome back I hope you guys keep making videos here even though MLP ended find a new community obsession and since we potentially have similar interests maybe we can be obsessed together

I’d actually love to see more bluey content! heck our friends were just comparing MLPFIM to bluey just last week. Seeing videos talking about that and why good writing is good for all ages- especially for families with kids, would be nice to see again on KZfaq, and from you guys 🥰. The moment you had in babyrace, I had a similar experience in the equestrian games episode with spike… totally different situations- but I get that sometimes that’s the magic of these shows. I know that episode isn’t the community’s favorite, but it was so eye opening for a teen that was desperate to prove themselves, but it was never enough and to realize where the problem lies in myself… and why I was giving myself such a hard time & why I needed to prove myself. That moment literally changed my perspective to grow… when I needed it most. Know that we love you guys, and you aren’t alone!

Jeez, I haven't been to this side of YT in so long. I'm glad this got recommended, this was a great video! Great to see you guys back with some new flair. Can't wait to see what you have in store. I'm totally here for this new direction for the channel!

Can we appreciate how the there is only one episode on both top 10 lists... It really does illustrate the different ways in which this show is great - funny, joyful, relatable, creative, inventive, inspiring, emotional, comforting, considerate and inclusive, a role model, or just having great stories, characteracters and lessons... Some of my favorites that weren't on either list are Flat Pack (which i thought will be there because you played its music in The Show segment... it misled me), Space, Onesies, Rug Island, Copycat, The Creek and Rain. And my favorite of all time si Cricket (yes, I know it' one of the most popular episodes)... speaking of which, I completely agree Rusty is a portrayal of positive masculinity. And I think the biggest reason why I love the episode is not just the varied ways he overcomes the challenges or even the traits connected to them as you've pointed out..., but also the bonds with other characters (4 family members + Jack) that shine throughout. I've already piled up a lot of adjectives earlier, but i don't have a word to describe all that being done in 7 minutes...

To give my final impression on this video, I loved it and would be happy to see more content from you guys, even if I don't think I'll be watching Bluey myself. That said, there are plenty of MLP episodes from Gen 4 that you still haven't reviewed, so there's still plenty of material for you to go back to if you ever want to dive back into the MLP-verse. There's also fanfiction out there you could review if desired. My current favorite is "Manehattan's Lone Guardian," a Megaman Zero crossover featuring a surprisingly balanced mix of both lighthearted comedy, fun classic action, and deep-rooted conspiracy.

Out of all the things I was expecting to see today, a new FOB Equestria upload was not one of them. And I am NOT complaining whatsoever. When I first heard about Bluey, I wanted so badly to say that it was overrated and not as great as everyone said it was, but now that I've watched a hefty amount, I can 100% say that I was wrong. I like other TV shows more, of course, but Bluey has definitely found its way into my top 20-30. Both of your lists and picks are very great, and so are the reasons for choosing them. And I think I speak for everyone when I say that both of you are gonna be some of the best parents in the universe. I'd love to see you tackle more Bluey stuff on this channel, so if you have more video ideas, by all means make them.

I'm glad you guys are doing well, I loved your mlp reviews and I honestly miss the show and what it had a lot to so watching Bluey has helped to fill the hole that show's end left in my heart. I love your perspectives and I'd love to see you guys talk about Bluey some more, especially since you actually have the experience of being parents and can relate to a part of it that I can't. All that said I'm glad you're all doing well. Thanks for brightening my day an inspiring my next Bluey binge, I've been so busy lately and this was a nice little break from all that to watch.

10:45 - Not to promote other people's channels, but Jarrod Kimber also goes into depth for this episode for anyone who wants to understand the episode (and a bit about cricket) more. 13:00 - That's the thing about Aussies, we don't sugar coat that bulls**t (though many in the government will try to), nice to see the producers didn't back down with an episode like this; it's a hard lesson that everyone needs to know about real life when they reach adulthood. 15:40 - This is a perfect example of what to do when the previous point (and real life) kick you square in the butt. 17:05 - Truth in fiction can be fine, as long as you don't beat people over the head with it, also learn from history so you don't repeat it. 19:57 - Say it a little louder for the people at the far edges can hear you. Glad to see you are enjoying the series, good to see more Australian representation out there and sorry to anyone who doesn't get any of the Aussie references. (And no, I don't work on the show, Aussie pride vicariously).

Can we at least say Dora the explorer is good? Bluey is definitely great. And the backyardigans as well and many other shows. But you get it. Anything is better than cocomelon and calliou. I really regret watching that show as a kid. God. Calliou was a mistake.

As a Church of England Brit, I'm more familiar with Gustav Holst's Jupiter, specifically the bit played in Sleepytime, as the melody to the patriotic hymn, I Vow to Thee, My Country, often played during the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance broadcast of the eve on Remembrance Sunday.

I too was surprised at Lucky’s Dad’s rules! Good on ‘em! So much kudos to this show. Also the one with the tablets! So important. I mean we all spend a ton of time on screens, so it’s important to remember there’s other things out there, especially for young kids bc they need that connection and growth.

Hey, Josh. Just a shoutout from your opening on Number 9: I'm the same way. It's definitely an autism and ADHD thing for me. You're not alone in this. Edit to Ari: how you speak of your grandparents are how I think of my own parents. I was fostered from the time I was 17 months old until my formal adoption at 3 years old so my parents are the only ones I've ever known. My mom is 70 and my dad is 76. Both of them are pretty healthy for their ages but with some health issues of their own due to age and some life-long issues. I'm 36 now and it's true that, given that the relationship is good and healthy, you'll never stop needing the adults in your life no matter how old you get.
