I have an adapter about $20? it lets me use 20v Dewalt batteries from my weed eater in my 18v makita tools. Use it all the time, Works great.

I agree, I picked DeWalt 20v Max as my new set of battery tools when I retired the Ryobi ones. They may not be the best in every category but they rank in the top five in every one I've seen and the top in many. I have 60v Max tools and their batteries work in the 20v tools as well as extend the time to discharge. I realize that there may be better tools in certain categories but the convenience of one battery system and charger far outweighs any minor advantages some other brand might have. As for the comments about adapters, well that's just more clutter in the tool box and likely voids the warranty.

@@zzing15 They are more or less the same. A battery isn't flat 18V or 20V. Check out project farm on his battery test. They all start over 20v and drop below.

What great information! I am totally hung up on Makita tools, but you got me with 3 of these.( Oops 4 but 8 don’t count dremel anyway). The sander, oscillating tool with that quick blade change and the vacuum. My “can’t live without” is my Dremel Ultra Saw. I bought it to cut a bunch of plexiglass. Like your choices, I’m surprised at how often I reach for it. Oh that reminds me, gotta have the screwdriver too. Will totally use than on my sewing machines. I bought a cheap one once and it didn’t work, never tried another. Just subscribed thanks so much!

The Milwaukee knives are hands down the best. The 2nd gen Milwaukee nailer could've been on the list. Using it for almost 2 yrs, Im a trim carpenter. Est 70,000 1 3/4 pin nails shot with it, about 13 to 15 hundred nails on a charge 3.0 battery. Not one issue, Not even one jam. It's a beast.

I understand attractive-ness of folding utility knives but not the value. (First off I absolutely hate Home Depot) but you can buy their cheapest orange model for under $3 and its a full skeletal grip so if I have to score through metal I can really wrench my hand into it and it stays set like its supposed to and Milwaukee is my brand too

Came here to joke on how many times you said “simply” when talking about the dewalt oscillating tool and ended up wanting to comment on how I agree that the Dremel driver is awesome and i use it all the time. I shunned the fastback knife for years due to the size but recently saw that there was a compact model, bought it and love it. I don’t have the ryobi but i have a bauer hot glue gun and i agree that that thing is HANDY. It’s also way faster than any corded glue guns i’ve ever used… and we have a bunch of industrial grade ones at the shop.. thanks for the content Have a good one ✌🏻

Good list. I agree that having so many different mfg's batteries is a pain but it's tough to stick with just one because they each come out with cool tools that the other mfg's don't have. I've gotten used to five different batteries and chargers. Danged batteries are expensive!
@kennedymcgovern5413
@kennedymcgovern5413 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! "Danged batteries ARE expensive." That's why, sometimes Milwaukee comes out with the better tool...but I still buy the DeWalt. "Bare tool price" always gets me, considering that I have a shelf full of DeWalt batteries. Haha...nope...DeWalt ain't always the best. But it's always what I buy, for the very reason you so eloquently stated, brother.

I've been using their gold bits for the last 4 years and swear by 'em since they're rock solid and I've only had to buy more due to losing 'em or giving 'em to other workers but all of 'em have held up to my daily electrician abuse over the years for damn sure so I've been hesitant with trying the newer XPS versions because I'm worried Makita might've figured out they were making the gold bits too strong losing money on return customers. Lol Makita gold bit always wins in the bit vs fastener fight.

I’m a subscriber and I have a suggestion, I have one thing you should know first, is that you may have already covered this subject and if so, I’m sorry because I have not seen it, so if you don’t mind please resubmit it to your loyal subscribers. It is about portable power supplies, 120volts, 12 volts, USB that can be used off grid. Anything that will help people in a pinch when they need 120 volts, in construction or camping without the use of a generator. Things that one can use without a huge investment, operate from a car battery or solar panel. This would probably help a lot of people out when then really need it and get a lot of like. You are excellent at giving great honest reviews of tools. Thanks, John It is now a very popular item and I would love for you to review a few of the best and share your results with your loyal subscribers.

Was at the big Orange Box the other day, and to my great surprise I saw the Milwaukee Fastback in a two pack! The pack was only 14.97 (before taxes). That's about 7.50 a piece - what a deal! I would recommend people jump on that deal ASAP. Some may say that it's just a utility knife but as you have mentioned before it is so much more. My favorite cheap tools are the Big Gator Tools drill guides which are about 25.00 bucks apiece and worth every penny, and the Wood Owl Auger bits. They are super heavy duty, sharp, and cut extremely clean holes. A set of 6 only runs about 65.00 bucks.

One thing I am surprised at, is how many different systems you are invested into. I’m just not able to justify owning that many different types of batteries and chargers. I can see having one small system maybe an M 12 or the Ryobi system because the batteries for it are in expensive but to own multiple 18 or 20 V upper echelon systems is very expensive so I can’t see buying into both Dewalt and Makita or Milwaukee and or rigid I would have to make a choice of one large format system and one small format system and for me it has been the Milwaukee fuel M 18 and M 12 system. I could have gone with the Dewalt or Makita and had a good experience, I have used a lot of tools for both brands in the past. But I just chose to go with Milwaukee because I really like their M 12 line and the variety of tools you can get and since the M 18 chargers will also charge the M 12 batteries it made sense to also go with their large format line as well.

I prefer the Milwaukee M12 Radio to the rigid. The M 12 batteries are so small and light that it keeps the radio nice and light weight. Even though it’s still able to charge a phone or even a tablet off of a small two amp hour battery end it will run the radio for hours off of that size battery. You can put a four or six amp hour in there if you like but it’s not necessary. It basically has the same feature set where it will function as a charger and has Bluetooth as well as an aux Jack. Digital tuner w/presets. It also offers a alkaline battery back up for the presets so you don’t lose them when you swap batteries. That is a nice touch.

Glue gun is awesome, but my number 1 tool is a different Ryobi tool; the high volume inflator. That thing is just so handy, blowing out filters, dusting off saws, clearing the work bench and of course inflating mattresses, pool floats and boating/snow tubes!
