The American Community Survey (ACS) estimates that approximately 461,695 U.S.
residents report Nigerian ancestry as at 2019.Nigerians are regarded as one of the top ten

The Nigerian diaspora in America and Nigerian Americans in general have made significant impact in the USA as they are well educated and have attained significant positions in all aspects of America life. Among African immigrants, black Americans and African Americans ,Nigerian Americans have been a positive force that has boosted the profile of blacks in the USA.
The Nigerian diaspora remains one of the most successful ethnic groups within USA and among African immigrants,black americans ,blacks in the USA ,Nigerians in America have attained significant success and considrered one of the most vibrant components of blacks in the US.
This video explores the life of Nigerian Americans who are part of the global Nigerian diaspora community and as African immigrants have become successful in music, sports ,medicine and business and have helped to elevate the profile of Black Americans and blacks in the USA in general.

I outperformed the Japanese and Chinese kids in my college. I tutored them. I was fresh from Nigeria and did not know it was supposed to be strange. Luckily my classmates were also fresh from Japan and China so we had no rude stereotypes about each other. We just naturally did homework together and l always tutored them several courses. I really do not understand this idea that all asians are smarter. It is harmful to many asians because you put too much burden on them. They are just like everyone

But the reality is that Asian economies of Japan,South Korea ,China,Malaysia,Singapore and others have rapidly become more advanced than those of any African country.Asians are top CEO’s of some of America’s largest corporations and it is a reflection of their innovative,creative and dynamic attitude.

African American vs. Nigerian Americans Since Nigeria's population is primarily the result of the brain drain of Nigeria's middle and even upper classes. initially immigrating as students, professors, and healthcare professionals. Then the 1990 US Immigration Act opened it up for more diversity while still prioritizing the highly educated and several professions like medical doctors and engineers. Thus, I will compare only the African American upper class to Nigerian Americans since their population has been curated through the US immigration system. To compare any immigrant group to a broad population would be illogical since through the immigration process the US gets the top 10% of Nigerians. In Nigeria 63% live in poverty, 40% cannot read or write, only 47% have a High School Diploma (secondary school education) and only 7% have a college degree. African Americans: Population of 3.3 million, 80% have a college degree or better with an income of $150,000 or better Nigerian Americans: Population of 450,000, 64% have a college degree or better with an average income of $52,000

That's a relatively small population of Nigerians in America for a nation of 200 million. Little Jamaica has more nationals in the US than Nigeria does and Jamaica has just about 3 million people.

Nigerians are a smart people and they prosper every where they go and reach the very top.However,the country continues to falter at home and Nigeria as a country is almost comatose .But why has Nigeria remained a country in the doldrums inspite of its' abudant natural and human resources ?

The vast majority of them are very aloof, self pride. When they come across you, they immediately size you up. They judge you on the usual mundane stuffs. They find it hard to relate with themselves.

To be honest since Nigeria populations was taken into slavery their Yoruba culture survive and the culture it bigger than Africa after 500 years ago it still alive I’m sure Nigerian ancestors have impact in d building of slavery which is true they have impact since century

We love Nigerians and we believe that they are great people.This video is titled The US states with most Nigerians and it shows that Nigerians live in beautiful cities in America. So it seems that on balance we tried to be fair but your comments are noted.

To be honest Nigerian population went into slavery and it consist of Yoruba Igbo Hausa and they spread all over the world their smart intelligence a lot of similarities between black American and Africa Caribbean and European black and so on and so many people could trace their dna to Nigerian ancestors cause of their behavior history and potential it is trace to giant of Africa Nigeria population
