In the words of what something Miyamoto would probably say: Mr. Game & Watch just wants to entertain, doing whatever he feels would provide it best.

I knew Frank West would be at #1 on this list, but if I can add something to him is that in the first Project X Zone game, he's one of the many protagonists and he is paired with Hsien-Ko, where the fun never ends, thanks to the pair's combo attacks and Ultimates, where they just go wild and annihilate the opposition with almost everything.

You forgot something that Mr. Game and Watch uses that was designed to cause harm, the credit card, because I swear those things were designed to put people in debt.

I was really hoping Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series would make this list. In most of his fights he can use a myriad of objects to battle his enemies, from trash laying around on the street to picking up and smashing mopeds over people's heads, and as of the second game, including the remake Yakuza Kiwami 2 Kiryu can enlist the help of nearby people in his fight, like making a guy stumble face first in to a woman's chest so she headbutts him, top a nearby barker tossing him a sign or an instrument to fight with, two stuffing a thugs head in a microwave and having a clerk turn it on. He also makes use of his environment, smashing people into walls, tossing them over guard rails ,into bodies of water, in Kiwami 2 he can also toss them onto a passing boat and they land nads first on the front of the boat, or he has the aptly named "butt buster" where he forces them butt first onto the nearest convenient guard rail or bollard. In fact in a bar setting he can do the classic of sliding a guy down the bar counter into the wall. Kiryu will even grab a guy and use him to beat down other guys. You can finish some fights in a single move that way. I know Kiryu mostly uses his fists to do his fighting but he improvises a lot.

After talking about Barbatos in the previous list, I hoped you'd consider Lilith for this list. She also fights with kitchenware, can summon fish, and her Mystic Arte (or Blast Caliber as they call it in Destiny R) involves creating a sonic boom by banging a frying pan and a ladle together. Apparently, it's the only way to wake up her big brother, who is as big an anime trope as he can be.

I think the reason why Frank had a different voice in DR4 is for the same reason as Kratos has a new voice in the upcoming God of War game: They have aged a lot since their last canon appearences. Sure, we notice the more matured voices on Lilac, Carol and Milla in Freedom Planet 2, but that's only 2 years time difference between these games and that's why there's no need to change their voice actors.

If anime characters could qualify Joseph Joestar would be deserving of this spot no question he uses pretty much anything and everything as a weapon ranging from mundane things like a coke bottle to weird things like a cactus or american clacker, to over the top weapons like a giant hammer or a freaking fighter plane. And these are usually weapons that he either happens to have on hand or picks up on the spot with little to no prep time or experience. Sure he has a signature ability in his Hamon but even that he treats as just another tool in his belt than a solve all answer to everything, only breaking it out when it'd be most useful. Even then he only get proper training about halfway through his part showing little proficiency with it besides it's basic uses and techniques he improvises. It's more of an extension of himself than a full on weapon.

One of my favourite things in madworld is in the first level, when you get into the waiting room for the train station you can pick up the rows of plastic chairs and use them as a heavy swinging weapon for a while. Nothing in the game tells you that is possible but they it next time you play. It's like the baseball bat but slower and bigger.

Mr. Game & Watch is even crazier in Ultimate, now that he doesn't just produce non-weapon tools, but also turns into his other counterparts from the games he references.

Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza is a perfect example of this. Like he’ll take anything from a sofa, to salt, pillars, swords, knives, fireworks, nails, etc and absolutely destroy anybody.

I think a special mention should go to Ethan from Condemned Criminal Origins. The entire game focuses a very well designed melee combat system and with it being a survival horror, Ethan has to use anything and everything in his surroundings to defend himself from the horrors he has to face

I’ve played as every character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and while Mr. Game & Watch isn’t my main as my main is a mix between Steve/Alex/Zombie/Enderman, Pyra & Mythra, Ridley, Daisy & my Mii Brawler, Mr. Game & Watch is INCREDIBLY fun to play as.

Now, he may come from a more violent series and also have regular weapons at his disposal (but 47 also has them so...eh) but Daniel Lamb from Manhunt 2 (and I specify Daniel cause he got real creative with his tools) deserves a mention from being able to use almost anything to murder his enemies either through stealthly killing them in brutal ways or even implementing the weapons in a regular fight, they range from bags, syringes, flare guns, telephones, the cover of a toilet's tank and even dentistry equipment.

was anyone else disappointed (but not surprised) by the omission of Sareth from Dark Messiah, Might and Magic. this is the guy who can not only pick up and throw anything not nailed down, smash the stuff that is nailed down to make things fall on his enemies, use a variety of simple but multipurpose spells (e.g. fire spells set things on fire, ice spells create slippery ground, telekinesis to grab items from far away and throw them harder) and last but not least the most versatile kick in video game history.

Y'know, the little pink balls of slime that only live to kick the shit out of each other with heavy weaponry? Weaponry that also includes animals like sheep, cows and moles, but also some more bizarre stuff like... Air mail delivery; a ming vase; a banana; a fat guy; a giant statue of a Concrete Donkey; and even natural disasters like earthquakes, floods and even Armageddon! Need I say more?

(This comment is 2 paragraphs: 36 lines not counting this disclaimer) My pick for a character would be Nanashi from Akiba's Trip Undead and Undressed. You can use basically anything as a weapon and through the synthesis system you can max any weapon to 999 power meaning your choice is purely based on moveset. Some weapon-ish weapons include baseball bats and wooden swords, but you can also wield a monitor, cinderblock, green onion, pom poms, keyboard, fireworks, entree plate and so much more. Even when you equip the water pistols Nanashi uses them as mini bludgeoning weapons and never fires a single drop. There is ONE indisputable weapon but it's weilded by the main villain and thus can only be used in new game plus. (It's also the sword my avatar is holding) You can even equip no weapon and fight with your fists (though that's really weak) Technically you can equip any of these weapons to your companions as well but each companion does have a signature weapon, which you can take and use though they can not be upgraded...well unless you get a copy of their weapon by beating them in a fight.

I'm a little iffy on #2 since all use of items is gained through the main weapon of the notebook. SO he isn'y improvising with whats around but creating what he deems fit. Even if you know the best way to do a job but trying to find what can work just as well funny but not improvising with what you got. You should try Shadow Hearts from the new world. Frank Goldfinger would be a great contender for this list. Sure what he takes he makes into a "sword" but he still just takes such hilarious items. A big ole saw put a hilt on it. A cactus just put a hilt on it. A mackeral you have a background of trying to catch? Put a hilt on it and beat a bad guy with a dead fish sword. How bout a magical sword in the stone. Put a hilt on that hilt to take the whole sword and stone to beat your opponent with.

Weapon improvisation. Because shooting something with a nail gun is far more satisfying than just a shotgun (Killing Floor 2), drilling a hole in their head is more satisfying than a simple stab (Hotline Miami), and DIY sci-fi beats the real thing any day of the week (Dead Rising... period.) Am still waiting for somebody to figure out that batteries + shotgun shells + video game logic = DIY Dragon's Breath but it's acid.

An Honorable mention I have is the playable human characters from death road to canada. In this Modren Oregon Trail style game. your goal is to get to Canada. the only safe haven from the zombie apocalypse. The game has two gameplay styles. The whole Oregon trail style gameplay. and a top down beat-em up style gameplay for Resource Raids and Zombie Sieges. And you literally have to use whatever you find as weapons. I mean yea there are weapons like swords and machetes and all. but there are also baseball bats, Frying pans, Knitting needles, Wooden boards, Out of ammo on that rifle? You can use guns as a melee weapon. My point is. you will pretty much have to use what you can find to survive to Canada. I would not put these as characters on this list because...they are not one character. they are usually random with some semi-customizable skills. Does it really count if its everyone in that game's universe? I dont think so. which Is why I say its an honorable mention.
