Matt, I've gotten to the point where I take one more club and hit it 3/4 swing with tempo and comfort instead of hitting every club at max effort. Easier on the body and more confidence that I'll make better contact. You get 13 clubs. use them wisely.

The timing of this vid could not have been more perfect. Yesterday, I searched for your other “100 yard shot” video as a refresher (weekend round was a struggle from 90 - 110 in). Really wish I had a home setup as you do to experiment with club speed, ball position, shaft lean, club face (little open or closed depending on stopping it or rolling it to the back), and swing path for fine tuning. While on course situations (up/down hill lie, ball above/below stance, wet, dry, etc) vary, having that confidence while standing over the ball would drastically improve. Thank you for these vids and especially taking another look at the “100 yard shot”. Take care!!!

On a day that I knew I didn't have my stuff I used a 7 iron to a green that was below the tee box a 100 yards away. And there is a par 5 that I'm always finding myself behind a row of trees at about 125 yds and typically use my 4 iron to keep the ball low & below the branches and I'm always coming up yards short. And I've seen others using their driver to keep the ball low from about 100 yards. I'm glad you've pointed out that I have 14 clubs to help me accomplish all of my shots. I'm a 19 handicapper this video appeared to be talking to us. Thanks for making me feel comfortable in my own skin.

WOW! I finally get to watch your current video MSG 😃. As for me, i only have and use 52 degree SW, PW, or 9 iron depending on the conditions at the time of the shot and i am more of a feel guy then club or arm position. I normally check my carry distance on the machine on those 3 clubs before the start of each season to make sure i have an idea on each club. Then I would adjust the club according to the conditions i pick for that shot. So far, this has been working out for me for the past 5 years. Thank you for your energy in making the videos 👍👍👍👏👏

You mentioned people thinking of a "clock" or how you specifically just think of vertical club positioning. I always think back to the Tiger Woods video games, and the "% of swing meter". At 100 yards out, I can pull back my hands a full 100% for SW, or 85% back for 54°, or 70% back for 50°, etc. Not sure why it works, but thinking of that little pull-back circle on the Tiger Woods game always helps in my pre-shot routine, as well as during my shot.

This shot is easy for me! My pitching wedge is my 110 club, and my 50° my 95 club. If the pin is 100 away go with the 50°, if the pin is 115 and 100 to the front of the green go with the PW!

I'm a 4 index and I FINALLY figured out that taking more club and swinging 3/4 produces much more accuracy and consistency . My PW goes 135 .. now I know that 3/4 PW equals 115 yards .. GW was 120 .. now at 3/4 its 105 .

Very good points. I don't always use the same club. It just depends what is in front of me. At the range, I try to use different clubs just to see what it takes to go 100 yards.

Great video, I use my PW, 9, and 8 all the time depending on the shot for 100-110 yards, I feel I can really swing and hood the ball and trap it, using a half swing with my PW and get a ton more spin. Love it.

Matt really Enjoy your lessons very easy to understand love your personality Also you keep them relatively short 10 to 12 minutes perfect Best online KZfaq lessons I have ever watched keep up the good work PS1 question on 100 yd shot you refer to vertical swing up and on 80 yd lesson you referred to shallow and low hands I was a little confused on that I guess there are a million different shots in golf but I was wondering can you interchange those 2 types of swings with the 100 yd lesson and the 75 or 80 yd lesson ect.

I found a call away 52 degree wedge wedge to use for within 100 yards, but if I hit just before the green it roles on just barely. If I use my pitching wedge I can hit the fairway and it will roll on the green halfway. The 52° wedge seems to leave me a longer putt.

Great tip right there , this is exactly how i think , the ballstriking gets a lot better with a shorter and more "compact" swing = increased yardage ?! So with a little practise in different wind direktions we get way better results on the golfcourse 🏌️👌🇸🇪🤷🏼‍♂️ Stay Safe 🙏

Matt - you’re swing and impact look shallow (like in your lesson on the 80 yard shot). Would you say this is true? How would you contrast the punch shot? (steeper swing, more shaft lean and deeper divot?) When is one shot more preferable? Thanks for the vids.

Question for you with this hundred yard shot I have to hit a full pitch and wedge just to get it 100 yards I like the concept of a nine iron with a 3/4 swing I'm going to try that tomorrow lol but should I choke down on the club or just grip it normal grip and not choke down

I played pitch and putt and their holes vary from 60-106yds. With just a SW I was struggling a bit to hit the different yardages. My full swing hit the 106yd green and my half swing was hitting the 60-65 but as soon as I was facing anything inbetween I felt I was just getting lucky. To change distances more while staying consistent would you mess around with the tempo of the swing as well?

I use my Garmin gps and pull down the line to leave the 100 number. It is easy on most par 5 your second shot is less than a 7 iron to get to the 100 out. On par 4 it means that no every hole is a driver. It can vary from a 5 iron, hybrid, 3wood to driver.
