I used to wear the Danner Rivot and loved them, until they changed the price to $400.

The number 2, Rocky’s C 4 is no good. The sole is make of parts individually put together which falls apart individually.

2010 deployed to Kandahar. Those mofos issued us some Danner Combat Hikers. They were a bit heavy but also mostly meant for colder mountain environments. Decided why not wear them on a patrol. Our dumb ass PL decided it was a good idea to walk up stream in a waddi. Few miles later we got out and kept walking for another 8 hours. Boots had zero drain holes and zero breathability. It felt like my feet were boiling. Took them off at the COP and my feet were so white and pruned up, they also burned like hell till the next day, it honestly was painful af. Ordered Nike FSB as soon as I possibly could. Most of my time in I wore issue boots and never had a problem with those
