Жыл бұрынTopanga Lookout in the Santa Monica Mountains in California is a quick, easy hike with a nice payoff. At only two miles round trip and only 160 feet in elevation gain, it's hard not to pass up this opportunity to get amazing views without a whole Herculean effort. If you are not fan of graffiti, this trail and home of a former fire tower may not be the best place to visit. It is distracting, but it has a certain charm too, I guess. It's just one of the things you'll experience in some form or fashion in the Los Angeles area, like it or not. The views were just too good to let the graffiti bother us though! Additionally, you'll be able to see Los Angeles from this lookout too as well as the Calabasas Peak. The parking is pretty limited, but hiking from this spot is not insanely popular either. I haven't done that hike and so nice you had it to yourself! I don't mind the graffiti at the top, but on the rocks and trees makes me a bit sad.

It was a great little hike despite the graffiti. Part of the charm but I’d prefer it weren’t there at all

I kind of like the graffitti and the empty high-end water bottles laying around. Let's ya know where you're at. The only thing that would make this more California is if there were someone shooting a music video right at the peak. 😉

Beautiful hike and video. I always wanted to do this hike, but not getting anytime.. ha ha. Its so colorful with graffiti, though I am not a big fan of it. You did more hike in California than me..) Amazing view from the top!

We will be in Huntington Beach for 5 days and I would like to do this to get this incredible view! But driving so long for just this short hike is a little crazy… we are traveling with our dog… if you know some nice things to do in the area please let me know. Malibu unfortunately is not very dog friendly…

When are you going exactly? I ask because Laguna Beach is so much closer than Malibu to Huntington Beach. I know they have dog rules/times during the summer but I would look into that. We did make a video on Laguna too if interested 😉

Will do Laguna Beach on one day and some hikes like the one to the Hollywood Sign on another day I just thought that perhaps I could combine that when we do something else in the area cause the view is amazing. The views are nice for sure but the graffiti is ridiculous. I went to a waterfall here recently and saw some ugly graffiti which was never there before. Made me so mad.

It’s definitely getting worse. There are places that I’ve been to before and went again and there was twice as much. I’ll never understand I guess.
