I had major surgery , when waking up two doctors were standing beside the bed. Asked who they were and they said we just finished the operation. I ARGUED that my doctor was an old ugly man and they were to young and Purdy. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I wasn't having the greeeaaatest of times, i came out of surgery and the nurse gave me water, instead of freakin sips, CHUGGED THAT LIQUID. I puked it out and told her "You told me i wouldn't throw up!" The best part, she didn't tell me jack about throwing up

When I had my wisdom teeth removed, I had injections...all ouchie...to numb my mouth. They pulled 'em out and I went home to get on with whatever I had been doing. I was fine...no PTSD, I did not die and no one took any videos or photos of me. I could have been a star...dang...We live in different times indeed. Lol.

That's how I had to get mine out, also, except I got 8 shots because I was so scared of feeling them getting pulled out, I told them the first 4 didn't numb me enough. 😂 This was also while I was in AIT for the Army.😳 My recommendation to anyone is do not let the military do any operations on you. Go to your own drs. I ended up spending 2 days in the hospital after. BUT this was also back in 1991, they might be better now.....but maybe not. 😂

Same here. They removed my wisdom teeth in the dentist office. I was given conscious sedation. Woke up fine. Went home by myself. Drove myself home. But that was more than 40 years ago.

When I got my wisdom teeth and a bone graft transplanted to a different part in my jaw in the same 2-3 hour procedure, I woke up surprisingly lucid and I remember everything. I think all I did was crack a few jokes about me sleeping for the next week. I did end up posting the same thing on my Instagram two different times though

I'm glad I did not have anesthesia when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I went to work 2 hours later and worked a full shift. My co-workers asked me why I was talking funny, and I told them why, and they were asking me what I was doing at work, and my boss offered to scrub the rest of the week for me. I was fine.

Probably because you can have them pulled, and not need this anesthesia. When you have to have oral surgery, to have them cut out-this is what you have…they literally will not do it any other way if they cannot just be pulled…

Dislocated my shoulder at a football game. Spectator, not player. First-aid team provided a makeshift sling, but my husband drove me to the hospital. Screamed bloody murder the whole way. Most painful experience of my life. Hadn’t had anything to drink, but doctor refused to give me ANYTHING for the pain. Was probably louder than I needed to be, but if they wanted to keep me in pain, they were absolutely going to hear about it. I wouldn’t let anyone touch me. They finally relented & knocked me out to pop my shoulder back in place. I’d torn my rotator cuff & my orthopedic surgeon told me that his patients constantly tell him that shoulder dislocation is more painful than childbirth. Still can’t believe they treated me like a drug addict.

I didnt have any of this happen when I woke up from anesthesia. I was slighty dizzy and little sick but thats it. I remembered nothing while under. no dreams. felt like I missed time. I asked if they did the surgery and I lost 2.5 hours is 5 seconds in my mind lol

Geral vs topical aneathesia. In the US they seem to heavily sedate patients with general anesthesia while elsewhere its topical or as needed

I just had neck fusion surgery February 2023 because of pressure on my spinal cord. I could’ve been paralyzed whatever they gave me to wake me up made me a tyrant. I ran around for 72 hours uncontrollably and ate a steak dinner four hours out of surgery drank a six pack of beer and smoked a ton of weed because I refuse to take pills. I wish they would’ve gave me whatever they give these people. I forget what they gave me but I had a very adverse reaction to it and I’ve had several surgeries, and never had that happen. I wish I could’ve been laughable, but I was hated.

Was it in the US? The rest of the world gives topical anethesia...I had all 4 removed that way. Painless and coherent. But I notice in 'Mrica they tebd to use highest sedation methods possible

In the UK it's not offten you get anesthesia like this for tooth removal... You get a local anesthetic injected around the tooth then they pull it out if it brakes they dig out the pieces.... And you feel the pressure but that's usually it

@Bell-collector, same, I had all 4 of mine removed, they had decided to use nitrous oxide. I had begun laughing and sorta crying and flexing, I was fighting the effects and then after a period of time they gave me some sort of an injection and it seemed like 2 seconds, I went out completely and woke up and all was done. I was pretty tired but definitely didn't have any weird inclinations or speech issues.

I wasn’t knock out when my wisdom teeth was removed back in January and February 1994 for my bottom 2 teeth. The top wisdom teeth in the early spring in 1998. When I had surgery on my left ankle after being broken in a car accident that I was a little groggy after it. I even remembered talking to my parents a little bit before they both left the hospital. I slept it off and woke up at 9pm. I didn’t acted funny and I was pretty normal. Even after this one surgery that I woke up in the recovery room and I didn’t know where I was for a second just after waking up. There was a nurse in the room. That one that I had my appendix removed. My mother was with me before the surgery. I didn’t ate any food because of my appendix was hurting me inside. I had a shake to drink and some water to drink because I was thirsty. That one was in early July 2016. After the surgery that I felt a little better and feeling back to my own self. I was a little bit weak after that surgery.

When you join the military, they ask if you've had your wisdom teeth out. I had not so the first thing they did when I got to AIT, which is the schooling you go to for the job you enlist for, is got me into the hospital to get mine removed because I told them they were indeed hurting me when I would bite down. I got no happy juice either, 4 shots of Novocain straight into my gums. They came back to check on if they were numb enough and I was so scared of feeling them getting pulled out, I told them I could still feel them poking my gums, so 4 more shots were given. I DO NOT recommend having the military take your teeth out even though it's free! Go to your own dentist! I ended up staying in the hospital for 2 days after!

I totally agree. I got my bottom wisdom teeth removed in boot camp. Whatever they numbed my gums and jaw with did the job. I was fully awake while they were in there with a hammer and chisel breaking the teeth apart due to the roots being spread out too far in the gums. They pulled one tooth out in three pieces and the other was in four. Then they had to use a freaking dremel tool to grind out the root that was still stuck in my left jaw. I felt no pain for several hours. When that stuff wore off, the other three training companies on our floor and the one directly above us found out about the same time as me. There were a lot of pissed off recruits and company commanders. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was screaming like a baby. When my company commanders found out that they didn’t give me any painkillers for later, they refused to allow anyone to treat me except the clowns that caused the situation. Even after the painkiller pills took over, I was still in too much pain. Luckily, one of my company commanders was a Corpsman and noticed too much swelling. He made them take x-rays and found out that the morons had broke my jaw. On both sides. Couldn’t do anything physical for quite a while due to the surgeries to wire my jaw back together and recovery. I got there the first week of August and graduated on December 26th. I was supposed to be out of there the second week of October. That was a long time to be in boot camp in Orlando, FL for a guy that doesn’t like humidity much. Do not let the military do your wisdom teeth!

Holy crap, what are they giving these people. It is boring here in Europe. My wisdom teeth removal surgery was like this: Take these pills they will work when the syringe wears off in 2 hours. Surgery finished, 2 teeth broken into 7 parts in total and removed one by one. Got a bag with 2 extra pills if I needed them later and a appointment for stiches removal. Drove home.

I woke up during my wisdom teeth extraction and apparently started throwing hands and it took like 10 people to hold me down til they knocked me back out again. Apparently I woke up, my mom told me what happened, and I broke down crying trying to apologize to every single person that was in the room. Still zero recollection of it. lol

i remember nothing from my Anesthesia - all i remember was the doctor giving me a shoot in my arm ( intravenous thing ) - and a little coldness slowly creeping up my arm and elbow and the back off my ear - and night night --- woke up abenix removed and what surprised me the most 22 clamps in me - they stapled me together / p.s this was back in 2000 they are using modern tech now day. scops and things / glue special clamps

I had an 8 hours dental implant surgery and never did that . Actually many times after my visits to dentist , they would let me leave right away and i would go from dentist to the mall to pick up the kids( teen's) and i was driving for about 20-30 minutes and i recall i was so aware that i am high and I have to be very careful how I drive.i recall i eould tepl the kids :" Quiet ! So i can focus on the road, i dont want to kill us all". I couldnt belive the doc let me leave as i was not awoke fully ...still dizzy and floating like, walking in zig-zagg to my car.
