We look at the Topoint TS330 compound bow we compare it to other bows at the same price point, more expensive and cheaper. We discuss how the TS330 is different the pros and cons of this bow.
We discuss the problem we found with the TS330 and how we fixed it. We then shoot the bow at 18meters to see how it shoots.

Heya mate, thanks for the review. It’s taken my dad a couple weeks of tweaking the TS330 but now manages to Group his arrows. Is a little more consistent compared to the Junxing too.

This is why when I get a new compound, it's going to be from a physical shop. I've owned a topoint m1. It was a good starter but felt a bit "sandy" on the draw after a while. This is also the beauty of recurve. I really appreciate the honestly in your videos. I just ordered a recurve from you because your quality and honestly in the vids.

This makes me more convinced than ever that if I ever get a compound bow I will go to a shop and have them set up everything for me. Syncing, paper tuning - everything.

For sure! But if it's your first, you're unlikely to cleanly release without torque or have a shifting anchor. So your paper tuning from your first ever shots would be redundant.

Before you start twisting up the cables to get the cams timed, you should check the drawlength modules to see if they're both set the same.

I bought a Trigon to mess around with and with a bit of tuning and a few accessory upgrades, its actually a really nice shooting bow for the money. First step is to ditch the arrows that come with any Topoint package, it's like shooting wet noodles, doesn't specify what spine they are but I'd guess 500. I shoot 29 inch draw at 60 pounds, so I got some easton powerflight 350 spine with 100 grain tips and straight away I was grouping much tighter at 20- 30 metres. Next I got rid of the whisper biscuit type rest and fitted a QAD Hunter drop away and a better 5 pin sight and the difference is amazing. My mate that I shoot with is a Matthews fanboy and even he admitted that it shoots well. Adjustability is awesome too, totally recommend any of the range if you're starting out or on a budget.Only downside was the rubber tube on the peepsight snapped at full draw and got me in the fkn eye, that wasn't good.

just did the same thing with a "Creative XP" on my channel. the Top cam was almost 1" out of time just like yours. i ended up re-timing the bow 4x in a week because of the string stretch. once they settled it was tolerable. but it was a nightmare durring the first 500 shots.

Hi Steve, looks very similar like the Kinetic mirage ,also the same tuning problem, its not alone a cable problem but a geometric one, try it with a heavy stabiliser and the camtiming changes...
@Buran01

At that price and seeing the sync timing problems I would either go for a ILF recurve or just save more money and buy a better compound later.

Just out of the box, how much tuning does it need? I have a topoint m1 that had a lot of cam lean and horrible cam timing. Still trying to learn fixing it myself, watched tons of tuning video's. And that is not easy if you also need to learn to shoot ;) My groups get smaller every day though. Now you telI me if i had spend a little more and bought the TS330, i had a much easier shooting bow. Wish is saw this video 3 weeks sooner, lol. Edit: Typed this tuning question while watching, i see now you adressed it.

TOPOINT = value for money my first bow was a TOPOINT TS350 (has a binary cam system with "real" yokes compared to the TS330): lots of adjustability, no quality issues ...IMO pretty much a perfect starter bow ... I "upgraded" to a Mathews (quality wise I actually downgraded) because of my DL where I needed 1" more...

Thx buddy, i am 62yo and looking at getting my 1st compound bow, i will be using it for mostly target with the occasional rabbit/fox hunt, like most, i do have a budget, maybe 1k, after weeks of overload searching the net i found you, you speak and understand my same language. I loved your comparison guide and have alot of respect to anybody buying a $200 - $400 1st bow, its like any hobby or sport you take up, you gotta start somewhere right?

I assume the modules are identical and there is not a manufacturing issue with the position of the adjustment holes messing the timing up. The nocking point looks a little high, is that possibly affecting timing.

Looks more to me that your draw stops are different on each cam so the little Chinese fellas that put it together didn't get the cam module holes lined up correct on both ends. Just check it. The cam timing looked perfect at the start through the holes so i think you jumped the gun blaming the timing when it looks like the draw stop modules are in a mismatched position.

Every bow needs to be set up, it's not unique to Chinese bows. Honestly, these bows are very good these days. I started shooting compound with a PSE phasar II back in the late 1980s, and even these cheap Chinese bows are head and shoulders above those. I wouldn't use them for competition, but they're more than adequate for starting bow hunting. They're powerful and accurate enough to bring down a dear and shoot decent groups. It pisses me off when elitists tell people just getting into the sport that anything sub $1k is "rubbish". Just set the bow up properly, get some decent arrows and customize it for yourself, by adding better sights etc, then upgrade when you've got really good with the bow. I've got a friend with one of these and he shoots really good groups and has just as much fun and enjoyment out of using it as the guys with $2k bows. He also hunts with his and has bagged a few deer and a black bear, and certainly doesn't feel handycapped with his bow.

I can see where there is a market for a bow like that with prices through the roof on bows. The problem is here in America if the shop doesn’t sell it to you which I’ve never seen any sold around here they’re not going to want to touch it for any kind of work

Nice bow...and I am also on a tight budget, but would prefer the exact same bow configuration on a 35" riser at a similar price point. How much would 4" of additional riser length bump up the price, if everything else was the same??

Edit: as a newbie on a disability pension it seems like Topoint is the go for me...just can't work out T1, Trigon or TS330 and it' driving me insane! I;d go something way more entry level but I'm a lefty and this is as cheap as it gets,. What is everyone's opinion>?? Should I get a barebow with a release, D loop, whisker biscuit and sight then buy the rest later?Get a kit and upgrade? Do you guys do basic set up before sending out as an added on service? Please help me!

This is the problem with a non-slaved 2-cam bow. When the manufacturer's make a 2-cam bow with high performance cams that pulls peak weight longer and then dumps into a valley with high let-off (more than 70%), cam timing becomes a nightmare. I have no doubt that I could time this bow, BUT.....because the SLIGHTEST stretch in on cable will cause it to be out of time again, I would pass on this bow for that reason. This is why most 2-cam bows don't pull peak weight very far before they start gradually letting off, AND they have less let-off, usually around 60-65%. All this is the reason I like Hybrid cam bows and Binary cam bows and single cam bows. On these bows, the cams are slaved to prevent this un-even roll-over into the valley. Back in the day when we were all shooting twin cam bows, they almost never dumped into the valley and they were normally 60-65% let-off. If I were forced to shoot a twin-cam bow with high let-off that dumped into the valley (pulled max weight longer), I would DEFINITELY have a set of quality strings on it. BTW, single cam bows totally eliminate this problem.

Why don't they make the draw stop pawls independently adjustable, because clearly the cams themselves are (roughly) in time according to the visual alignment holes. Why not isolate the draw stop adjustment mechanism to be independent of the cam timing...most importantly...to be able to make the stop point adjustments the same without the need of a bow press. Makes absolutely no sense to do it any other way.

The Big $$$ bows these days aren't really that nice !!! For the money they're slower and heavier than 10 years ago... The draw cycles on new bows are horrible. . . . . I bought my son the G2 for $299 and it's been good.. It's cool that I can adjust it and shoot it too.....
