Unless you're sailing in waves, where you will almost instantly nosedive. Also when reaching, it promotes a good planing angle. HA NERD 🤓😂

You might not realise but at hayling island there are waves if it is windy enough you have to sit further back you won't nose dive going upwind but as you say at an inland event your trim of getting your body further up the boat will make you go quicker as your stern isn't in the water

Yeah, it's called five eventual, using trim

Upwind, this works, even in waves. However on reaches and downwind you sit slightly further back to keep it out the waves and avoid pitch poling
