What you are doing for the industry, to challenge manufacturers in improving products on a scientific basis, is PRICELESS, and ultimately increases the possibility for all of us to enjoy music as an art. That is why you deserve the highest possible respect, good luck for youtube channel, i'm a subscriber!

Congratulations to your first appearance here on KZfaq. The forum you have established (ASR, Audio Science Review) is indispensable, including the contributions of so many collaborators. I am probably not he only one who is interested in learning how measurements work, what the differences between good and badly constructed dacs, amps etc. are and what the graphs and figures mean. Maybe someday you could show how distorsions and noise sound while the deterioration is depicted on a monitor. Consumers will be able to decide for what kind of performance they are willing to pay. Thanks in advance, Amir.

@@AudioScienceReviewQuite a few videos in myself I still feel like that sometimes. These things seem pretty straightforward, but if editing takes a lot of time just consider getting an editor. Out of curiosity, are you recording through your ADI-2? I feel like that masterpiece is a foreshadowing of what audio equipment can become if manufacturers are held accountable to their claims and need to develop functionality to distinguish themselves.

@AudioScienceReview3 жыл бұрын
I take it for granted that people don't know what I look like and who I am as a person. Only discussions tend to often be adversarial so one comes across differently than reality. Despite being an introvert like many engineers, long time ago I realized I need to overcome that and be able to speak in public and explain things. Thanks for the comment and subscribing.

Nice to see this happening, Amir - and with your usual attention to "fidelity", I noticed that the lighting and sound for your video are very good on your very first post. (I cannot believe how so many KZfaq audio "reviewers" don't have clue about how to produce good voice sound quality for their own videos, yet claim to be audio/sound experts.) As I write this comment, I see that the up/down vote ratio is currently 209 to 5, but the naysayers didn't post their criticism. Last year I bought a Topping DX7s DAC/HA to get the good balanced output DAC, but this unit would be even better for my application, because I don't use headphones. (I see one of the $175 BenQ Genie curved LED desk lights behind you in the video. There is one on my wish list at Amazon, but I am hesitating. Is is really versatile and good enough to justify the high price for this old guy whose vision, like his hearing, is not what it used to be in the past? Lighting near a computer screen is tricky, because sometimes one would like to light up things on the desk while not washing out the screen image.)

Love these technical reviews Amir, the detail and accuracy you put into each one is greatly appreciated. I often hear you say the the threshold of audibility is about -115 dB. That seems like a very conservative figure and probably only achievable in a very good anechoic chamber, the typical listening room as measured using a calibrated SPL meter it typically 40 to 45 dB. Considering the threshold of pain is generally listed as 120 dB it seems almost impossible to hear anything below 80 to 85 dB. What's your opinion on this? Thank you.
