I stress this in a many of my video just because I hear so many talk about these numbers when buying a DAC or setting up their music PC. 24bit or 32bit and super high sampling of 96k, 192khz, 384khz. These numbers are heavily used for marketing so they become misunderstood and end up carrying more value than they should. Just becuase a DAC says they support these specs or you set your PC audio sample rate to them DOES NOT make everything you play through them that spec, they rarely upsample unless specified. All it means if the DAC or PC setting says 24/192 or 32/384 whatever is that it can decode files up to that spec. If you play a standard CD .WAV file it will still be decoded and converted to analog at the 16/44.1 For any system to resolve a basic 24bit 96khz "HD" audio file it would need to achieve 144db of dynamic range and produce accurately 48,000hz. Currently not possible by any system. What does matter is what Topping has focused on. Keeping distortion very low and making sure the equipment reproduces or converts the signal with the best integrity and they show it in measurements that matter far more than high bit/sample rates. You wanna hear what this gear can do feed a it a .WAV file of a well recorded album like Jackson Brownes Running on Empty album and enjoy.

Thank you for the review! I have a question. My unit has somewhat shaky/loosy volume knob. In other words, I need like 1-2° before starting to feel resistance and the volume would actually change. It almost feels like it dampened in some way. Before this I've had an Atom AMP and the knob there felt very crisp and sturdy. Do you have something similar with your L50 unit?
