the amplifier source has a maximum voltage of 150mA. So the performance is much lower than stated by the manufacturer. It can only be 2*100w at 4ohm RMS. Has anyone measured the performance of this amp?

. . . on any of these smaller speakers, one needs a high pass filter, set at near 100hz . . . and a subwoofer like the Dayton Audio 8 and 10" models . . . I have RB-42s set up this way, driven by the Emotiva X-100 50 wpc, in a small 8 x 16' room, the filter takes the stress of repro under 100hz from them, and the powered subs do the down n dirty bass notes . . . works well in my modest system.

Its A shame the Altec factory did a crummy job of welding the horns together they are not finished properly those welds should of bin grinded out and made nice and flush so that you don't see them at all , to me that is a factory fail in looks I would of fired the welder Guy first impressions mean every thing .

I own a set of Altec University Mustangs , and I built a pair of EV Aristocrat enclosure's to put the Mustangs in so they could have a awesome enclosure to call home , the Aristocrat was made bye Paul Klipsch , I got the plans from EV and crafted my Aristocrats bye hand the enclosures where built to give them a more modern look to them , and they work very well together. the sound from them is awesome , I also crafted a set of Sentry 2 EV enclosure's and I use the 12 TRXB speaker as my driver for the Sentry 2 enclosure's , nothing beats EV when it comes to theater and live performances it is a very competitive field .I am the Speaker Doctor of Canada I have repaired a lot of speakers mostly Bose , JBL, Boston , AR, Advent, the list goes on mostly the repair of fixing rotted foam on most speakers that are made the list goes on .

Someone gave me one of these UMM-6 mics. What software, besides REW, can be used along with the UMM-6 to create a signal and then interpret the input signal? I just want to create some FRD files, but I don't understand how to use this mic or what software is used for speaker measurements.

Not really a fair comparison. The Cv's don't have a Midrange, compare the Cerwin vega D9's against any Sony Speaker and they will blow them out this world

I bought a pair of NCx500 amps, but I was curious about the NC252MP, so I found an assembled unit offered second-hand at a decent price, and I bought that as well. Both are really excellent amps, with the NCx500 sounding slightly warmer and having slightly better bass character along with its unrestrained dynamic potential, but the NC252MP is still a world-class amplifier on its own. The NC252MP runs about as warm as some Class-AB amps I have had, though it has less heatsinking so the amount of heat output in watts is probably less than a comparable Class-AB amp. For the majority of users and the majority of speakers, the NC252MP is an endgame amp choice disguised as an amp module. The only reason to buy something else is you want more power for really hefty speakers (where you'd buy something like NCx500) OR you want a deliberately sweetened sound like certain solid state or tubes can provide for matching with certain system components; the NCore amps sound squeaky clean and detailed, but they are also very literal - no sweetening of the sound, just linear amplification of the input signal.

Sansui never made very good speakers they never used very good drivers , there cheap Japan Drivers those drivers where put in many other cheap japan speakers like Realistic , Foster, Sears, AGS, they all used the same drivers , and they used wimpy drivers with low power rating and a lot of them get blown , just like your woofer . to fix it you need to remove the dust cap and sawder it back on to the coil.

What really makes me curious, is what is that very nice song, little like Ray Charles style that plays on the background when you speak at the end. Would you know what it is ?

My best bet for the binding post not to vibrate when unscrewed to help banana plugs support would be to use teflon tape as much as needed so that's it's snug when untight, thus cutting all vibrations. (we don't care the thread being insulated with the tape in that case).

I have three K2020A+ amps, paid under $35 apiece. I use them where many people would use powered PC speakers. The old Tripath chips are actually very good at near-field sound level, so one of these little guys with a pair of Micca COVO-S or similar speakers is miles better than just about any PC speakers you can buy.

I am considering second-hand speakers to purchase, I am between these Sony ones at 180 USD and some Jamo e800 AT ABOUT 150 USD. I would like your opinion or that of your subscribers regarding price and quality of both. What would you choose?

I don’t like either. The JBL sound boxy through the treble and the Sony like the treble will start to distort or get unclear at higher volumes. Obviously inexpensive speakers and neither is bad, but don’t like. I think a Klipsch at this price point. Even if they’re forward sounding or boosted treble.

I got 3 of these brand new off mercari for 25.00 bucks 5 months ago. Sounds pretty damn good. One flaw that I haven’t experienced ( But heard) if you bend the cable too much, it will eventually cause the sac to stop working. So I use mine on my iPhone 13 Pro Max with one of those cell phone rubber net things, so it sits completely flat on the back of my phone. Oh, and you probably already know by now, that’s the hole isn’t a mic, but the led light for the sound quality.

Sony's sound much cleaner. Quite impressive.
@petermartin9494Ай бұрын
The volume control range is what it is to accommodate sources with high and low output. Complaining about distortion when you use a high output source and turn the volume up to the max is ridiculous. How would you feel if you had a low output source and could not get full volume? That would be something to complain about.
