She has released many popular albums and singles over the course of her career, and she has won 14 Grammys, the Polar Music Prize, and numerous other honors, including induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2018 she was presented the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
On 20 June 1977, she recorded a TV Special for AVRO's TopPop with her Hot Band consisting of:
Glen D. Hardin, piano
John Ware, drums
Albert Lee, lead guitar
Hank DeVito, pedal steel guitar
Rodney Crowell, guitar
Emory Gordy Jr, bass.
She played live songs from her recent albums 'Elite hotel' and 'Luxury liner' in the TopPop studios, Hilversum, The Netherlands
She had a big hit in 1977 with this '(You Never Can Tell) C'est La Vie'

I was five years old when this was done, I think my mom used to go dancing and would hold me as she danced. She died in 1978 after being taken off life support (was hit by a train while driving to buy Christmas gifts for my brother and I just before Christmas).

Dear god she's beautiful. I used to work at a public auditorium and almost literally bumped into her once at a sound check, mid 70's. I didn't recognize her but she almost knocked me off my feet, she was so BEAUTIFUL. Just off-the-charts gorgeous, stunning.

IT was playback and lipsynch, as you can tell well from Emmylou's long face - she'd of Course would've sung life, but such was not the policy at Toppop (that's why we could all see Iggy Pop taking out a couple of decor palms on the tune of Lust for Life, non of which could be heard - but pretty well, seen !

Toppop was a fantastic weekly popmusic show in Holland in the 70's and 80's, that us kids sat down to watch, with host Ad Visser and dancer Penney de Jager. I think this show with Emmylou Harris was live, if only judging from the number of cables from the instruments to the amplifiers.

I worked a show at SF's Boarding House one nite & had the pleasure of ushering-in Emmylou & the Hot Band. She was fresh on the scene & I've been a fan since. What a sweetheart...

I was introduced to her music on a tavern jukebox in 1975. I was almost 12. My dad took me there to get fish sandwiches on Fridays. It was ok, it was more family friendly than rough. Together Again was the song. I became a fan.

Such a Hot Band, Rodney Crowell was even in love with Emmylou, but she told him, we’ll always be close friends, and they still are!! Rodney and Emmy are so cute and fresh faced❤❤❤❤
