Good beginner designs can be excellent mod material for those of us who have been at it for a while. As an FPV long ranger flying STOL from my back yard, I immediately added a twin mod of this one to my bucket list. What I love is the sturdy aluminium gear with no ingenious parts that insist on snapping in half, and what I hate is the bottom loaded battery bay. But there's nothing more than foam between me and a better solution, so thank you for the comprehensive review!

Very expensive is right ! Never got into spektrum nor horizon hobby. Way out of my league even when I was a hot-🔥-shot pilot. My favorite transmitter is the FlySky TH9X or Turnigy 9X with either the ER9X or Open-TX firmware and a multiprotocol RF module.

Looks to be a real ripper! Impressed to hear that the EPO foam is very robust. The thought that went into including two wings, and easy takedown/assembly is excellent. Expect we might see more of the TopRC Blazer as a general testing platform in future. It might be fun to test if the Blazer remains stable (at slow speeds, stall handling) if those big ailerons were configured as flaperons for STOL flying.

Nice flyer. Does that have a break-away prop? I like the user-friendly features. I only have a few umx I fly but would like a sailplane or similar but want to put a cam on it and looking for those little action cams I used to see are gone? One I liked a lot was the ...firefly? Those were great little cams to tape to your plane but can`t find them on banggod or gearbest. hmm idk

@@AndrewNewtonPerhaps for the better Andrew. Texaco is an abbreviation for Texas Company. It started in 1902 as a petroleum producing company in the state of Texas. Its logo is the same as those stars with a circle on the Blazer's wing, you have there.

Not sure why you would need a 4s battery in place of the ubiquitous 3s/2200 (before even a test flight) ? Hauled itself off the deck with plenty of power - even on that rough track. It IS a trainer after all (and quite nicely made too by the look of it). Spare wing reminds me of the Chris Foss Unowot?
@altermannfliegt3927
@altermannfliegt3927 Ай бұрын
Maybe because of the flight time? You get only about 6 to 8 minutes with that battery. I'm sure, that he wants to fly a longer distance.
@neilgillies6943
@neilgillies6943 Ай бұрын
@@altermannfliegt3927 Not sure that's the answer 😁 Higher voltage, increased current = less flight time (for same capacity) - not to mention that there's no guarantee the ESC/motor combo will handle it? I think 8 mins is plenty of time for a trainer anyway 😊
@altermannfliegt3927
@altermannfliegt3927 Ай бұрын
@@neilgillies6943 He mentioned the battery as a li-ion 4S and INAV on board already. That is why I am thinking of an fpv backpack on top of the wing and a flying time of about 20 or more minutes. Maybe he'll also dismantle the landing gear. A 40A esc will handle 4S and the motor for minimum one minute at full throttle with a lipo battery too. I don't think that he needs a trainer plane 😉 ,rather a stable platform for fpv.

If it's over $79 and without a single joy-stick TX in RTF form, then it's not for me. That's what the new pilot in you becomes after even a mild to moderate ischemic cerebral stroke, as was in my case. Sooo ... please, take care of yourselves. Health comes before everything else. I learned the hard way. For those too lazy to look-up what the medical term ' ischemic ' implies: ... it designates a blood vessel/artery ' clot ' type of cerebral stroke which causes oxygen starvation to the neurons involved. The other type, which is more severe, is a ' hemorrhaging ' ; which is a rupture of a cerebral blood vessel/artery.

in 2024 I would definitely not call it a trainer, ie a beginner LOS airplane trainer. Yes it is like the Eagle 63 trainer I had in 1981, but that was not an easy introduction to RC flying in retrospect. I'd call this more of an intermediate LOS plane. A trainer for the last 15 years has probably been a UMX cub, followed by an Easystar belly lander-pusher. Truly forgiving airplanes for learning LOS with low speed and high crash resistance. Once you get into having landing gear and especially tricycle gear, you need to be solid on landing the UMX and belly landers or you will have doing a lot of repairs. Especially for park flyer situations without unlimited smooth grass to land on - need somethings lighter, slower, belly landable. Some would say a 3ch plane with dihedral and no airlerons is more beginner friendly too, but I feel ailerons should be in the mix esp with gyro stab to help. And there is also the 250g exemptions to consider in some countries (eg Remote ID bull snot)

@AerialWaviator
@AerialWaviator Ай бұрын
I believe it works the other way around. Companies are always watching social media platforms for feedback on their and competitor products. If you're someone who has created a standout relevant port folio of content demonstrating your abilities, the companies will reach out to you. If you want free stuff, particularly junk, many companies will send you stuff if you have a minimal talent for presenting. The good content creators are the ones the select the better stuff that is meaningful to their audience, as showing the junk wastes everyones time, and serves no one. There are certain times a great creator can use a junk product to teach a insightful lesson, but that is not typical.
