The Car is the 1998 Mercedes Benz W210 E290. It has a 2874 cm³ (175,4 cu in) 5 Cylinder Turbo charged engine producing 129 Ps (95 kW; 127 hp) at 4000 rpm and 300 Nm (221 lbf⋅ft) at 1800 rpm.
It is equipped with a 5-speed manumatic automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

I got a w210 e290td avantgarde made in 1997 with 210k km, its amazing how fast and comfortable a 24years old 5cylinder car can be.

Yesterday, i bought a 330k km w210 220cdi. Sadly, because of the salted roads here in sweden, the body is in a really bad condition, bud the engine runs like it's brand new. My friend's BMW e91 320d -11 with only 130k km has a more noice coming from the engine. Even compared to my dad's Peugeot 3008 diesel from 2021, the engine is smoother.

W210 290 stock 0-100 makes from 9 to 11.5 s. You have to put reves at least 3000 to kick down at start. You drive well but you are not used to extract all the power this car has. I know Because i own one manual. Great car, eternal engine.

Manual old mercedes versions are faster than the automatic ones, I also have a w124 250td 5 speed manual and an automatic version of it doesnt have the same throttle as mine

Father of a friend of mine got an e250 form 1998 with nearly 1.4 mln km still in use, the engine is just indestructible

It feels so spacious inside compared to the bigger modern cars. Yes it aged well sadly most of them have been driven until they fall apart soon there won’t be many left

Stock w210 e290 turbodiesel are completelly underpowered. Mercedes sold them way under their possible power output so it wouldnt output the e300 diesel 136cv that was sold at the same time. That 2.9 litre engine can well provide 170cv without any issues. And thats e300 turbodiesel numbers. But e300 td was also sold underpowered and that one is really a monster. Such a great dailly driver vehicle.

It dose fell very slow but the upside is that it last forever. Many people only buy the cars to get the engine to swap them in Mercedes vans

It does have less hp but that is mostly in the top end. At low to mid rpm it's got a LOT of torque, almost as much as the 300 Turbo. So in practice it feels like more. It blows the 136hp Non turbo 300D out of the water. But yes the engine could easily handle quite a bit more power with no hardware changes

Old and slow. But rock solid and built like a tank. This car maintained well goes to 1 million km without problem, and will run for next 25 years.

I was trying to understand why this car is so slow at launch, i think i know why. The gear box must be in w-winter, not in s-standard, so it launches in 2nd gear.

That warning light is when you turn off the traction control, so you can slide the car.

Why your Mercedes is sow slow, there is some engine or transmission problem. Second the engine idle is very low. Third your driving skills are excellent man. I didn't now that boat can catch corners like that. Excellent video man, well done.

Thank you for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yes the transmission is starting to give up, it didn’t enjoy the constant sideways action in the winter. The engine on the other hand is not powerful but 400k kilometers and it’s still in perfect condition

Maybe because the solenoid of the turbo wastegate are disconected or broken. Check this

@@TopSpeedBrothers after some time , it was because i disconnected the egr wrong , but now i have driver licence , and know that mine goes 210kmh , but feels faster that that on your video , i have a manual one , racing filter ahahahh , and only catalyzator
